Best hour I've spent in a long time and totally enjoy your understated humour. Congratulations and wonderful wishes for the rest of the jurney ahead :-))))
We're glad you've enjoyed the video. We now try to tell the stories more from start to finish, like chapters in a book. Thanks for the feedback and it's good to know that this new style is appreciated.
We can't wait to finish the paint job by coating the bulwark and applying a nicely printed name to the bow. In my opinion the green antifouling paint gives Flying Coney a much more elegant look.
Congratulations on your wedding, it was fortunate you were invited, nice touch at the end removing the mast from the cake. Flying Coney is looking good and is ready for the next step.
Yes, glad we didn't missed the wedding and there was still enough time to switch the working clothes. The cake was a surprise from our first engineer John who also serviced our DAF.
I’ve loved your videos in the past and think you are a wonderful couple. I found myself feeling tired and stressed, though, after hearing Daniel talk so much about how tired and stressed he was by the end of the video. 😢
Must be 3-5 Barbara's working on this project!.... She was everywhere; filming, painting, cleaning, editing. W O W! I thoroughly enjoyed this format of a review or recap of the previous videos. Excellent job! I remembered each of the previous videos would focus on one or two projects at a time. But this video showed how the projects overlapped. Thank you. I wish you would keep the arrangements of pilot house and rear cabin as is, and just offset the higher weight with your option of adding additional keel weight. The rear cabin would be a great viewing room of the boat. You could design it as a large saloon with dinning options or as a master stateroom (available for rent) to exclusive guests. I want to repeat an earlier comment. With no bowthruster and only one engine, your navigation of the tight channel was exceptional! Few people (only someone that has done it) can understand how much wind and current can affect a boat your size. You had very small margins to navigate. ........ Waiting for the 2025 adventures of "Flying Comey"
Thanks for the nice comment! We will only drop the aft cabin and the wheelhouse about one meter down. The aft cabin down to bulwark hight. Since there's currently full standing hight below the aft cabin there's plenty of room to keep the aft cabin. As you suggested we will use the space as a master stateroom. There will also be a second large guest cabin and the rest will be traditional bunks. Lowering the aft cabin will make the quarter deck more accessible and will give us a better overview over the boat when sailing. It will also increase the sail area. Since there will be a safety railing the line will not change dramatically. Only a little bit more elegant and she will be looking more like a sailing ship.
Congratulations on your marriage. Both of you looking extremely well and happy. How strange to see Barbara in a dress and not a boiler suit. Hope the future brings you both happiness and joy.
You left us with a bit of a cliff-hanger, please don't forget to tell us whether the coolant level was low, and, if it was, how much did you need to add? Impressive progress as always, and those wedding photos, "Wow!" Congratulations on tying the knot! 🔔🍰💐
The boat left us on a cliff-hanger as well 😂 But the coolant level didn't drop, so we must have filled it with the right amount. After a few days we drained a bit of the water out and toped it up with concentrated antifreeze to get to the desired mixture. So either we miscalculated (used an inaccurate pipe volume calculator) the volume or there was still some water left in the engine and keel cooling pipes.
Congrats to your wedding, Wishing you all the best!!!! And by the way….. Flying Coney is a wonderful boat….ship….vessel….whatever! She is beautyful. Greets from Berlin.
Thanks so much for your INSIGHT. The restoration of an older vessel can be VERY time consuming... I'm very grateful for the effort of your family to share the development and JOURNEY... BLESS YOU
Thanks for showing us your journey through the ship restoration... if I'm right, 6mm should last another 60yrs unless a grounding occurs. Happy times and thanks again 🎉🎉🎉
With modern coating systems it's possible to stop corrosion almost completely and if a plate needs to be changed it's not the end of the world. So far about 99% of our hull is still original without an insert or a doubling.
She's a big sucker alright.😮 Ya could always setup the lil Perkins as an emergency drive if main engine spits the dummy nothing to flash just a belt drive of some sort on to the prop shaft. Just😢 a thought.😅Good to have a round up vid to the start of the new year😅. If the other dude don,t like it tough don,t watch it.😂😅Brilliant wedding looked great ya both great so enjoy each other now.😅 Great work keep at it 😅🎉😂❤u
There are two video about the wooden boat on the channel. Basically we've bought a wooden boats for parts. Especially the bronze hardware like the portholes. The boat was listed as beyond repair but after a little bit of investigation we came to the conclusion that the condition is far better than expected. So we decided to search someone who is willing to restore the boat and found an American gentleman who took the boat on. ua-cam.com/video/munLk0xLVhA/v-deo.html
We all take electricity for granted, it is not until you have none do we appreciate it, good job hiding it all, i see from other comments that it is not the correct wire! I would have used exactly the same as you, so i would have and many others would have done the same, best you know this now, good luck!
17 meters long, 5 meters wide, 2.4 meters draft and 56 tons heavy. Originally we bought the boat for parts like the bronze portholes but the boat was in better condition than expected so we sold it to someone who can restore this boat.
Great podcast...!! Just a tip, if you really want to clean , you should be not more than 12 to 16 inches away from the object to be cleaned. If you REALLY want to know what kind of rigging you can have topside, you absolutely need a, CERTIFIED stability evaluation. Subscriber and avid follower..👍👌.!! All the Best, ALWAYS. @@FlyingConeynot enough to make it worthwhile watching. I like what you’re doing and enjoy watching slow tv. But what you’re doing with your videos is starting to make me feel like the videos are released to create a money stream with little effort in content. Add in you talk too much about what you are doing and then the filming of the subject is too short. I wasn’t going to comment but after your reply I felt the video was unjustified.
@ Fair enough. But we're making videos and you can watch them for free. A recap video is usually far more work than a regular vlog. We wanted to show how much happened on each and every day so that's why we've decided to make this video. We're video makers showing you how we renovate the largest boat on UA-cam. We could make more money with almost any 9 to 5 job but we still decide to share our experience. Lots of positive comments from our viewers and our patrons are showing us that our work is appreciated. If I do say so myself, it's a well made video and I don't feel that I need to justify myself. Restoring a ship costs money and time and UA-cam takes more time and costs more money because we film everything. What's your solution? Stop UA-cam because there isn't enough progress? Better make no videos at all? It's that what you want?
Love your content, thank you thank you an thank you two again. @FlyingConey Some people watch and feel like you are robbing them of their precious time. Time that could have been spent on attacking rust, maintaining the daf, or external cooling. I salute you and wish to thank you for showing the process in fantastic fashion. ❤ We own a 15 meter steel ship and you make it look like everyone with some common sense could do it, thank you for that as well. I hope you keep up the work and have your goals in mind. Keep that course.

Flying Coney looks so good with her green bottom paint and new waterline.

Congratulations. Wishing you all happiness.
Congrats for all the good news!
Congratulations! You both are such hard workers and joyful people. Love your music choices as well! Flying Coney is beautiful!
I’ve loved your videos in the past and think you are a wonderful couple. I found myself feeling tired and stressed, though, after hearing Daniel talk so much about how tired and stressed he was by the end of the video. 😢
I understand that it is stressful and tiring, but as for me it’d be nice to have more content and less complaining.
Congratulations! He made an honest woman of you Barbera :-) thanks for the update, great progress, good luck
Congratulations on launching your ship and marriage!
good video guys!!
Congratulations on you wedding: you both looked lovely ❤️
Congratulations on the launch of the Flying Coney and on your wedding! A beautiful ship and a beautiful couple.

Barbara is such a hard worker! You are a very lucky man Daniel!
Congratulations for your wedding - and of course for the successful shipyard time!

Aye yes rigging brings me back to my old Bos'n Mate days! Great video can't wait to see you out on the seas sailing!
Still a long way to go but she will be a magnificent sailing ship once we're done.

Did I miss the story of that other wood ship? It looks fantastic. What’s going on with that?😀⛵️

Boat work is hard. In Dutch we have an expression that roughly translates to: Buy a boat, work yourself to death."
beautiful may God bless you guys and all your adventure,🥰

1:39 wath is the measure of this old sailboat ?
the sailboat they sold to buy the flying coney

@FlyingConey thanks people and great work.
Togliere tutti i tubi di raffreddamento esterni?
The recycle value of that old generator must have been a few euros worth?!
Pity you couldn't find a Signwriter.
Found one! We will apply a proper name once the bulwark is freshly painted.

Would you please stop the WHINING and MOANING about your problems and let your viewers do that for you guys... hahaha Thanks 😂😂
this has been on here before? I love your films but why do you keep resending these films I wonder.
