    Just made my first one! Very clear instructions and fun to make. A couple of tips: After folding the center band to desired width, stitch about 1/8" from the raw edge. When placing the band around the bow, put the raw edge of the band toward the bow. Use a zipper foot to sew the band in place. No need to turn if the raw edge of the fabric is already toward the inside. And I used a little Fray Chek after trimming the band. That's going to be on the back so no one will see it anyway.

    • @InsidetheHem
      @InsidetheHem  2 роки тому

      Wrinkling would depend on the fabric you’re using. You can try iron on interfacing. And for the last part, be sure you’re using a zipper foot to get super close.

      Thank you. I am not that You Tube savvy lol So, I guess a 4 x 6 1/2 for small boy bow. You only have one size for small and I want one a bit more narrow for boy. Great tutorial. I did make my girls bow ties and they are adorable. I just wanted to make a boy one for someone else's dog.

      I just looked at the description box, and I see mediums and smalls, but no large.

      Eek. I have no idea, then. It's been so long. Let me see if I can dig them up.

      All of that info is in the description box below the video viewer. The "Show More" button if you're on a desktop or a teeeeennnnyyyy tiny arrow on the bottom right of the viewer if you're on mobile.

    Love your video. About a month back I began helping a friend making bows for her to make some side money. She has since kind of stopped and I have a whole bunch of ribbon leftover. So I set to work just mass producing bows with what I have. Now, I don't have a sewing machine (i so wish I did) and hand sewing can just become an arduous task, so just hot glue mine. But then again these are ribbon. They come out looking super adorable, but I have been trying to find a way to attach my bows to the collar of my baby, Girl. Girl is a short hair dachshund so hair bows are entirely out which is why I set out to put them on her collar. I have scoured the internet for ways to attach the bows and I have to say that your idea is the most brilliant. I tried alligator clips, barrettes, and even just a short length of yarn. The yarn worked the absolute best but wasn't conducive to a dogs active lifestyle. Girl lost a lot of really cute bows and I'm still wondering where in the house she lost them. But I never thought to try double sided Velcro. I found cutesy elastic at Wally World the other day and was gonna try that but I like the Velcro idea because the elastic would make for a second collar which would probably not be too comfortable for Girl. Anyway. Thanks for your video. Loved the idea and I will definitely be using it for my little Girl.
