Sir/mam, I followed all the steps upto base heights but when I click on apply nothing is happening. I waited for 4 hours of process. It seems as nothing has happened. Shows 0% in lower right corner. I am using ArcGIS 10.5 Cell size is 0.000716
Hi i am from Nepal. I want study about landslide hilly region of Nepal But i mustnot get DEM data with high resolution like 5m,10m so may i get DEM data for determine high risky zone of Nepal...If i get DEM data i studying about the risky zone and save the many people ...Can you help me sir
Sir, when I am trying to perform the steps, i.e clicking on "floating on custom surface", just after that the image is getting a huge spike and I am unable to figure out what is going wrong. tried several times but not working. Kindly help
thanks buddy....the tutorial is helpful to simulate inundation but how does it works for the case where the water keep on draining out in lesser amount to the rainfall
Hi, I do not recommend this method for that because this method does not really do an actual hydrodynamics simulation. You are better off using tools like MIKE21 or FLOW3D for such kind of dam break modelling.
Hi, you can try downloading some high resolution DEMs from USGS EarthExplorer. However, the availability might be only limited to only certain areas of the world.
brilliant video, ive used your tutorial to simulate the thawing of a Martian ice sheet for my dissertation. Thankyou very much!
Glad it helped!
Thank you for the Video, for hypothetical reference only. God Bless
Perfect, I am doing the same as described by you. Thank you.
Quite Educative, Keep it burning
Excellent tutorial. Do you know, please, of a hydraulic engineering program for simulation like you mentioned, that is free to download.
Excellent tutorial

Very useful
I enjoyed it.
Great!
goodjob
Thank you for this video ,perfect explanation ,with best wishes
How can it be used please to simulate flash floods not river floods?
It's very helpful tutorial. Thanks
Hi, can we make a similar simulatiom for landslide?
exellent explanation
Glad you liked it
nice explanation..... love you
How can we do the same using ArcGIS Pro? please guide and help !

Much better and accurate to use a 2D hydrodynamic software for such simulations (ex: HEC RAS)
Is there a way to add the rocky description of the groundwater wells, as well as the water level and its three-dimensional appearance?
Hi, for this kind of representations you might be better off using software like Rockworks or HydroGeo Analyst
@@geodeltalabs thank you for your fatest response, i appreciate your video and its very useful to me, thanks a lot.
I followed all procedures but the animation does not play the water level rise
how calculate the area that doesnt affected by the flood? please help me
Excellent Sir... Sir Which type of GIS version you use?
ArcMap 10.5
very nice..
Thank you :)
please where can i download your project
Congratulations on the video.
I have a question: Can this simulator be used to simulate the bursting of a dam?
Hi, I do not recommend this method for that because this method does not really do an actual hydrodynamics simulation. You are better off using tools like MIKE21 or FLOW3D for such kind of dam break modelling.
Nice, but how and where do i get that high resolution DEM like the one you used?
Hi, you can try downloading some high resolution DEMs from USGS EarthExplorer. However, the availability might be only limited to only certain areas of the world.
How do you do this in Arc Pro?
Sir, I have given four hours but still couldn't learn this technique. Could you please help me out?
Hi can you discover ground water and it s detpth
...
By increase in cell size, resolution is decreasing.
