- This panel was so much fun. Sebastian Stan seems so serious but he definitely has a sense of humor. Anthony Mackie was just as funny as the Captain America Panel at Comic Con. ~NW
Thank God they had no idea what fanfiction was. Telling actors in your fandom that you're a fanfic writer is like going up to your crush in middle school and showing them a story you wrote about you and them getting married and having babies.

If they knew about it and were as comfortable about it as they are with the death of their characters, it wouldn't feel so cringey. Fanart/fanfiction is our fantasy, and for reality to see it is like being nude in a crowd.

Right? Imagine if you found out someone was writing fanfic about you and one of your coworkers. How uncomfortable would you be to have to discuss that at a work function with a bunch of strangers? I feel so bad for actors when fans don't realize how awkward a position that puts people in.

There are moments when Anthony gets really serious and intense on a question and you get a gleam of just how intelligent he is. I think he's so smart that he figured out a formula for keeping the attention on his humour and hijinks so that eyes of the public will be deflected from his personal life. It doesn't happen often, but it's pretty amazing when it does.
You can tell the questions he takes seriously Bc if he thinks it's a lame question he gives a joke response but if it's a good question he gives an honest and intelligent answer.

And there is a talk show episode where Mr. Ruffalo sits on Mr. Downey Jr.'s lap after seeing some science-bros-drawings. They try to laugh it away, but I think not everyone is as cool with it as Mr. Downey Jr.
So I guess they are very well aware of it. But as long as they say they do not have any clue about it they do not need to talk about it. Smart move. ;) This way they do not upset any fangirls.

I usually find that those fan fiction questions are usually awkward, side stepped, the actors take it in strides but it's still awkward. It just shouldn't be asked, it should be in Panel Questions 101: Don't ask about fan fiction. Some people may not mind it but most of the time, the actors either don't know what it is, don't understand it, or are uncomfortable with it. Fan fiction needs to stay where it is, on the internet as fan fiction. I enjoy it at times but don't seek validation for your versions of these stories/characters from the actors because they're not interested in it. Don't go to the panels hoping they're gonna be down for your ship because you asked. Here, I don't think either one of them really wanted to answer the question because they probably know what is out there, especially Sebastian. This video is now like 2 years old, so if they didn't know before, they definitely know now.

Danielle Garan Fanfiction is not about the person, the actor himself. It is about the role he is portraying.
And just because 16 year old fangirls think it is hot to write and/or read romantic / explicit fanfics it does not mean that 35 year old actors, who play the characters said girls write / read about, think it is hot, too. ;)
No matter if it's frostiron, stucky or whatever, those actors are often married, some of them are fathers and at least 90% of them are straight or simply not into the person, fanfictioneers team them up with.
If somebody would write page after page about you doing this crazy stuff lots of fanfics deal with (with somebody, you are very much NOT into, like a teacher, trainer, or just your best friend), you would maybe feel 'a little' uncomfortable yourself.
So many women do not like being catcalled, being bothered with sexually thoughts and phantasies of other people; but they expect Mr. Evans, Mr. Stan, Mr. Hiddleston and other actors to be, what, excited? happy? about the written (sexually) adventures women of all ages force them into?
I don't say anything against fanfiction (totally not! ;) ), but I do say it is nothing, we should bother those who inspire us to write, read, dream,... with.

+Elle-Iza Logan Completely agree with this statement; the fandom is starting to cross a fine line that should always be respected because Stan, Evans, Mackie, and everyone else are people and while they're famous or whatever, they deserve a sort of respect that's more on a human side than anything awe-worthy (though they are all very amazing, I won't deny that) and should always keep things like fanfics, fanarts, ships and stuff away from them and not put them in the spot.
I'm always so afraid of people bringing up these things along with bringing to light certain habits that the actors do (Chris' boob grab, for example) because after it's known, they become self conscious about it; after it was brought up in another comic con--to none other than Stan and Mackie-- and they had a bit of a gag going on, Evans hasn't been shown to do it anymore, and it's sad that the fandom made him realize what he was doing and he essentially felt uncomfortable with it and possibly decided to stop doing it.
It's tactless and tasteless to ask stuff like this and I wish people in the fandom understood this and refrained from doing it; all I can say is I applaud the people that made noises of disapproval to the girl and her question instead of cheering it on, because it shows that most of us still know where the line is and respect it.
