Emppu, the guitarist, always plays for the song. He can produce any sound necessary for the advancement of the music. And, yes, the bassist/male vocalist, Marko, can sing. His career goes back before Nightwish, with his own band, Tarot and he is widely respected in Finland as one of the founders of metal in that country. His voice is entirely different from Floor's, but just as powerful. Marko sings lead on some of the songs with Nightwish, and, as you are beginning to discover, the harmonies between Floor and Marko are absolutely epic.
Singers sing what they can, Floor sings what she wants ❤once she sang the phonebook in a Dutch radioshow ❤and It sound like a real song ❤her voice just touch your soul and grab your heart ❤she is one of a kind ❤our Valkyrie queen ❤
Things about Nightwish live 1) Emppu does not actually have a “style” like other guitar players. For each song, he creates the proper tone for that song with his guitar. Sometimes it is dirty distorted sound, sometimes soft and Gilmour like, sometimes a shred. Always it fits into the composition perfectly. He has a kind on underlying Emppu sound, but I hesitate to call it a style. 2) Every member in the band is committed to the piece of music, not their own ego. They all get their time to shine, but this attitude sets them apart from most bands. Each member creates an interpretation that fits the music and melds with the others. A secret to their popularity. 3) Each member of the band connects with the audience while they are on stage. Tuomas and Jukka are stuck in their places, but Tuomas headbangs and makes dramatic gestures, Jukka does theatrical drumming when he can. Emppu runs around, poses, gestures to the crowd, throws out picks. Marko moves around, mouths lyrics when he is not singing, poses with Emppu. Floor is always at home, comfortable on stage, never tense, while singing or not. She always does something to engage with the crowd when not singing (dancing, windmilling, hair flipping, clapping.) Her charisma grips the crowd throughout a concert. 4) They pay detailed attention to the optics of the stage, the costumes, the pyro, the lighting, and stage movement. More like musical theater than a live band. Combine that with Tuomas's genius at emotionally evocative composition, orchestration, poetic lyrics, and virtuoso playing on the keys, and we have a unique band. Check out Tarja kicking Sarah Brightman's butt in Phantom Of the Opera, from 2005's End of an Era concert
Yes! Let them Nightwish bangers come. You should check out the tribute Nightwish did to PinkFloyd 'High hopes" Marko sings like a god and Emppu's guitarrwork is great. Great reaction. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.
Marco is the bass player. He is a very accomplished singer. I think he won 2021 or 2022 Finland’s masked Singer also takes the lead in a few songs the main composer of the songs and all that good stuff is Thomas. He is the keyboard player. He’s also also known as the metal Mozart.
Song of myself from this concert, last ride of the day from this concert or monsters of rock, seven days to the wolves, yours is an empty hope Wembley arena weak fantasy Tampere in Finland are heavier tracks shoemaker and Tribal brilliant for her vocal ability and poet and the pendulum from Wembley and the greatest show on earth from Tampere are epic masterpieces, glad to see you enjoying your journey, have a good new year🇬🇧 The bass player is a brilliant singer in his own right. You haven't met Troy the UK member yet, I want my tears back from Buenos Aires and My Walden from Wembley gives you a good introduction to him.
@tracyfarnath2270 Although I really miss Marko I think Troy is doing a wonderful job with male vocals, Also any song with his beautiful pipes are at the top of my list. Peace 🤘🤘and love from the US❤️❤️
Another banger that i don`t think anyone mentioned is Slaying The Dreamer at Buenos Aires. This concert from their Decades tour features songs from all their albums from 2018 and before.
Marco plays his bass as if it is a guitar. Taking chords and strumming. It looks quite unusual. More reactors than you have thought he was a guitar player.
React to Nightwish and the Nightwish Army will appear. I was a Floor fan way before this, but I was there in 2013 and I knew this was the perfect match. Humble yet so powerful. Nightwish and their fans are amazing 🤟🙌
At Wacken 2013,Floor was officially a stand-in vocalist and all songs in the set-list were recorded with the previous two vocalist. After that, the band has recorded three albums with Floor, and keyboard player Tuomas Holopainen could write songs perfectly attuned to Floor's vocal abilities and style.
If you like heavy songs try Nightwish "Yours is an empty hope", Wembley 2015. Here you can hear Floor growl (it is NOT Marko). And for more Emppu solos listen to the tribute to Pink Floyd "High Hopes" (End of an Era concert 2005 - here Marko sings lead).
Floor does Windmills not headbanging - because she is from Netherlands....she as NW is outstanding. One of the very best performers of our time. by the way: Basist and backup singer is Marko - great singer - and Emppu is the lead guitarist of NW. we must not forget Tuomas (keyboard and composer) and Jukka on drums. And Troy on different instruments.
For some reason you reminded me of Spike from rugrats when you were headbanging! I mean that as a good thing! Keep rockin'! Heavy Nightwish? "Master, Passion, Greed" - never performed live! All Wacken songs were 110%! Nightwish Army, Blue Mountains Corps, Australia. Nightwish since 1996!
If I can I'll recommend that you react to every song from this Wacken show, it's fantastic from start to Finnish (see what I did there?). Once you've done that then I'd recommend doing the same for the Wembley 2015 show, and the Tampere 2016 show, and the Buenos Aires 2018 show, and the Hellfest 2022 show (make sure to get the remastered version as the sound is much better). If you Want there's also plenty of music videos well worth checking out and of coarse the End of an Era show with original vocalist Tarja Tarunnen - actually her last show before she was fired by the band. Basically it's all amazing, and if you really want to understand Nightwish you need to watch it all, as well as some documentaries such as 'Please Learn the Setlist in 48hours' which documents the events that led to Floor joining the band mid tour, 8 months or so before the Wacken show 🤘
This sounds more like fantasy. Vikings sound different, for example: Saltatio Mortis - My mother told me (Official Music Video) ELUVEITIE - Aidus (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) Marko Hietala is one of the pioneers of Finnish metal. In 1985 he founded the heavy metal band Tarot with his brother. The two are the lead singers there: TAROT - Wings Of Darkness (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) In Nightwish he is primarily a background singer. He joined the band in 2001 via a detour, replaced the bassist at the time and left in 2021 due to depression. A few songs are by and with him: NIGHTWISH - The Islander (LIVE AT TAMPERE) With new therapy and medication he is touring the world again, this time solo and singing himself. His first solo album was more prog metal. The second one, which will be released in February, will apparently be more heavy metal again. The current single: MARKO HIETALA - Impatient Zero (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) Markos sings relatively high and therefore harmonizes well with female voices. The most recent example: Patty Gurdy - I Am With You feat. Marko Hietala (Official Music Video)
The vocal technique in the end is sometimes called the elevator, it's a recommended vocal exercise to get from your chest voice to your head voice without a noticeable flip between. From a vocal equivalent of a warm-up in the gym, they've just incorporated that into the song seamlessly.
Subscribed to be part of your Nightwish journey. I suggest you to react to Nightwishs Version of High Hopes to hear what the guys, especially Marco, are able for. Greetings from Germany 🫶🤘🔥
Thanks for watching, subscribing and taking the time to comment 😄 I've made a huge list of everyone's suggestions and there's so much Nightwish I need to check out! New reactions coming soon ✌️
Check out Floor's previous bands when you can. She's an extremely versatile vocalist! After Forever and ReVamp. Marko is an outstanding vocalist, too! He does a few solos. It's a shame he left the band. I was lucky enough to see them live when he was still with them.
To see Floor looking all badass in her Elven Warrior Goddess outfit check out "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" live in Buenos Aires. Pretty heavy. ua-cam.com/video/t26r_vAYQ0Q/v-deo.html
Please check out Marko singing The Islander live. Floor comes in at the end; sort of like a back up singer. It’s a sort of sea chanty. It’s fantastic! Tuomas the keyboardist writes 99% of their music.
Next songs to react to: Ever Dream, Ghost River, Song of Myself Nightwish - Ever Dream (Wacken 2013) ua-cam.com/video/YwGSAFarHRg/v-deo.html Nightwish - Ghost River (Wacken 2013) ua-cam.com/video/05eitd-EA6I/v-deo.html
Thanks for the suggestion! This is actually a re-upload from my other channel, I wanted to separate reactions from all the other videos I post. I have a reaction to high hopes that should be up here in the next day or two. Once all the older videos are on this channel I'll start posting new reactions in starting in January ✌️
Vikings? Yes, as a matter of fact Floor knows bass player Marko from a competition in axe fighting... Marko lost the fight (since then he has been limping) and he had to sing with Floor the song "A Day for Ghosts" in the Netherlands. ua-cam.com/video/hHtJsiLAkM4/v-deo.htmlsi=9FdGEkg89rYUy7X-
your hair looks like I havent washed mine i n10 days. sorry just a visual reaction. still looking forward to the music reaction from Colorado. carry on my wayward son
I love these Nightwish videos, but there is another band called Electric Callboy from Germany. Try reacting to their song "We've got Moves". They dont take themselves too serious, so keep that in mind. They are great at what they do❤❤
Nightwish members have no egos. They play what the song needs. I've seen few bands who meld together as well as this band. The keyboard player is Tuomas Holopainen, he writes, produces and arranges most of the songs. Marko Hietala was the bass player for here. He left I think in 2018 after almost 20 years with Nightwish. He has an incredible voice. Check out Marko singing the Pink Floyd tribute song "High Hopes" from the End of an Are" 2006 concert. Also, check the shred off between Emmpu on guitar and Tuomas of keys in "Shudder Before the Beautiful" at the Wembley 2015 show opener. Better put your seatbelt on for that one.
You’re right, these are re-uploads. I wanted to separate reactions from all the other types of videos I post and make it easier to for people to choose what they want to follow and watch. I’m putting up all the older videos over the next few days then privating them from the other channel and new reactions here starting in January. Nothing nefarious I assure you ✌️
Tuomas , the keyboard player, writes all the songs and the music for nightwish.
He is called 'the metal mozart'
DARK CHEST OF WONDERS !! Thats the opener of Wacken 2013 , another banger

NW made a cover of Pink Floyd s HIGH HOPES , Emppu have 2 solos there :-) That song from NW is GOLD ! NW Sweden
THIS!!!!!! A link to it appeared on the official Pink Floyd website and Dave Gilmour was definitely impressed!

@dianabryson5264 yes Troys pipes are magical, have a peaceful healthy new year xx

🤗🍒🤘🏻 well done again Sid
Yes, the Nightwish / Floor rabbit hole is very deep and then there's the Tarja era, Epica, Within Temptation....
Song of Myself is very heavy but not as fast-paced same concert.
Marco plays his bass as if it is a guitar. Taking chords and strumming. It looks quite unusual. More reactors than you have thought he was a guitar player.

After that, the band has recorded three albums with Floor, and keyboard player Tuomas Holopainen could write songs perfectly attuned to Floor's vocal abilities and style.
She was introduced at the beginning of this show as the new permanent vocalist of NW. so I guess you could no longer call her a stand in.

It is easy to remember who the base player is. The drummer does the double base therefor the base player does the double beard.

A few days late, but if you want to see another side of Marko's voice, there is an Ave Maria with Marko and Floor.
It’s the best there is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
