Thankyou for part 1 sir... There is not much to a banjo 🪕 Way easier to understand and simple to work on.. Not like a guitar... Plus you could turn a resonator banjo into a open back banjo if you wanted too.. Question ? How hard is it to install nylgut or nylon strings on this banjo ? Or on to a RK 0T25 OR R-35. THANK YOU for answering questions.. trying to figure out what banjo i need to get.. love your videos and keep them coming sir.. from your fan..
You don't look to make sure that the neck is straight with the pot assembly before tightening up the tension rods? And why put the resonator on before the strings because obviously you will have to adjust the string height with the tension rods.
Excellent, very helpful... So, does the way you tighten the regulator rods set the angle of the neck relative to the pot? Can the angle be adjusted using the regulator rods? You didn't really get into that aspect.
You forgot the most important thing about the head of the banjo you did not turn the head to G sharp that is very crucial of tuning the head to the string
I found an Ariana banjo 🪕 that is from the mid to late 70's. Not a scratch on it anywhere. Needs new strings, all parts seem to be intact. Hard case is old dried out and warped. Case is no really usable at this point.. looks to be mahogany and head felt like paper actually, not kidding 😂... They want too much, 299.99 plus tax of course. I was thinking if I give it a really intentional looking over, maybe they will take 50 bucks for it. It is in a pawn shop for last 3 months store owner said... I figured if I could tune it up, put a new head on it, maybe a new wood bridge, old bridge is wood I noticed..and it is a five string banjo 🪕🪕 Maybe if I paid 50 to 75 for it, I could use it to practice with.. before I bought a new banjo.. I,m not paying 300 plus tax for a basket case from a pawn shop...I have what I need to get a new one, I am looking around... Checking the most logical options out first is all.. I went to pawn shop in my small home town to change out a 20 dollar watch battery, when I was waiting, I was looking around in store and there she is. An old cheap banjo 🪕 Really, I want to offer them 50 ,,so I can learn to disassemble and reassemble banjos, I thought if it was cheap, I might learn something before taking apart another.. Just a thought... What does others think out here.. Harv Dog 🐶
Possibly the best video I have seen on how to put back together a Banjo. SO HELPFUL!
Great video, thoroughly covers all aspects of reassembling

He explains this earlier in the series. It's personal preference and not his preference. Not crucial.
