Is there a possibility I could get this tone with a DS 1 Distortion pedal from BOSS? And a 90’s peavey amp? I know he uses a FUZZ WARR DEATH BY AUDIO pedal with a custom electrical guitar company guitar. I have a squier strat. Any tips?
nah you cant get this tone with a strat and a simple distortion you need humbuckers or p90s, the fuzzwar is almost mandatory but using 2 normal fuzz and boosting it with a overdrive could get similar results. Also the steel neck of the guitar makes it sound so harsh and unique
RegularDude John actually used to play single coil guitars, he has a Mustang and a 12 string Burns and he sounds just the same on them as he does on his plexiglass SG and his old Vanguard he used on the Help and Carrion Crawler tours

It sounds like someone is turning a tone knob up and down during johns playing. Is it just me?
You're probably refering to the moments he's using his fuzz, that has a treble boost. Sometimes he just leaves the boost on for like 2 seconds to give that kind of effect
