My grandfather owed a bakery back in the 60's, 70's & early 80's in a small town in VA. My siblings & I loved going to visit his bakery! We were allowed to eat cookies, donuts, & have a carton of milk. Ppl would come from other states to buy his baked goods. He even did political figures inaugurational cakes which were amazing the way he'd decorate them! The main thing I loved was all the wonderful smells as you'd walk into the bakery's front door. Oh how I miss him and his bakery!
What a wonderful memory of your grandfather and a great story!! I love it when people share stories like this! I wish we could see some sort of documentary video about your grandfather and his bakery. It sounds so interesting!
What a beautiful memory for you and your family the town should do a article in the local newspaper about him and his bakery. Our paper every so often does reporting about places that have been around for a long time .
Aren’t memories wonderful. I think of my grandmother often. She was an amazing cook and baker. Raised her own food, she canned and put some foods in the freezer. I loved going to her house and helping. I miss her and my mother everyday.
Hi Heather. Family comes first and if anyone expects more from you on social media they don't have any respect for you and your family. The work/life balance takes regular evaluating to get what works at that point in time for you, your family, friends, home chores, hobbies etc. Your videos are amazing and the good thing is that supporters can always watch older videos again if you miss posting a video. I lost both my parents in the past three years leaving me the last man standing. I was given two years at the most 13 years ago and while I've beaten the odds I have to rest a lot so I'm blessed to have the time to enjoy your videos. You talk, give advice, educate and make it feel like we are one big youtube family. You never fail to make me smile and I really appreciate it. 😊❤
I love your videos but, fully agree take time for yourself and your family. Don’t let social media rob you of your time. Praying you find a good balance. ❤❤❤
Old recipes from the family, from scratch, are a rare treat❤ Thank you for sharing, absolutely wonderful! I can't imagine how good your house smells 🤤 🤤 🤤
Thank you for sharing all these yummy recipes. Totally under stand though wanting to be in the moment. You have to do what makes you and your family happy. I love you and your family.
I just love everything about you! I know you're not perfect and that is what is soooo relatable! Your exceptional though at so many things and the way you hold your family so near and dear to your heart, it's just like me 💕 Family will always come first and lately I have made a decision to make sure my focus is on my brood at home 🏠 😊
I just love your videos. Those looked so much like what my mother would make us. Then, I took over at certain times to help her out. I'm looking forward to seeing what is next to come. Have a great weekend! ❤
Didn't even watch the video yet.. But I Love you Heather !! I can guarantee you when i lay down to relax you are my 1st go to to watch !! Rock on Girl..Lets Get It Started Ayyyyy ❤😂🤘
Thank you so much for cream recipe! With cream cheese it is really something else! I just tried to bake for the first time and it was a hit!!! My family ate it in 15 minutes xoxo So tasty and sweet, thank you so much for your recipes ❤❤❤
Heather, you are an amazing mom and a wonderful cook! Those cinnamon rolls look like Heaven! I enjoy watching your videos and I love how you are not like many other family vloggers in the way that you do not exploit your children. I would love to see what your kids eat in a day! I bet it would be a lot more delicious and nutritious than the food featured on the Dougherty Dozen channel as well as others.
I love watching your videos especially the baking and cooking ones. You’re just an amazing mom to your family! ❤❤ Those cinnamon rolls look so delicious 🤤 Thanks for sharing.
They look so delicious Heather. I am going to try and make some myself this weekend for Easter treats. Happy Easter to you and your beautiful family tell Luke hello from California.
They look delicious! 😋 I wanted to tell you that I enjoy your singing on your videos. It cheers me up. I've been a singer for 58 years and a musician for 53 years. Keep on singin!
That dough DOES look beautiful to work with! You're family is lucky to have you making this for them, wow! Have you ever thought about investing in a stand mixer?
Ask a friend to share their sourdough starter! We are always thrilled to share and it is so much easier than starting your own and that way you can start baking right away!
My son wants me to emigrate to where you live, just for the snow 😂😂😂. Personally I would just love to live in nature and get back to cooking from scratch.❤❤❤❤❤
Have you ever thought of using wax string to cut your cinnamon rolls with??? They are less likely to get smooshed. You slide the string under the roll, bring it up and just like you are tying a shoelace.
I love your channel and watching you cook and bake and you have such a sweet family! Question… where did you get your big orange bowl? I love it and I need one! Thank you for sharing your talents! 💕
No I do the same at times after surgeries just pay attention to the gluten consistency that it doesn’t break down fast and over process. You’ll know and check it often. God Bless and happy baking 🥰😘
I think because the butter needed to be melted. She added it to the milk I believe and yeast can be killed in too hot of liquid. My moms recipe has a specific temp to have the milk, butter, sugar mixture when adding to the yeast when making rolls
Before you put the rolls in the oven pour some heavy cream into the pans it keeps the rolls nice and soft. Try it next time you’ll be amazed how well if works
I hope u do t slow down on your videos. I used to watch another so called mom with adopted kids but she's like a fake mom your the real deal I love ur family's story. Live your videos ❤❤
I lost my mom when I was 22. It’s been 17 years. It still feels so lonely at times watching you is so comforting. Thank you for being you ❤

Nothing better than that. Hope you have his recipes that would be a treasure to have. What was the name of his bakery?

@@jenniferhansen3622I agree I like reading about people's stories especially the 60's. I remember the bakery's were so much better than today's.
I love watching you cook please don't stop. You make it where we want to to watch. Especially when the kids enjoy

You're an amazing mom and cook Heather ❤
They say it's margarine that's dangerous not butter as some think.
Right, margarine is one molecule from being plastic! That's a fact!
Thanks for your great videos! With any critics-perhaps they would enjoy another channel and if they can not be nice, say nothing at all. God bless.
Amen to that!
Thank you for the recipe. I’m so making this next weekend!!!❤❤❤
I love how big her kitchen is!!! How lucky is she!!!!! ❤❤... Love from Michigan... 🌲🌲🌲....😊😊😊...
Hello Heather your crust recipe was just fine. I chilled my butter and shortening. It rolled and fold right into my cast iron. Thank for your recipe.

Tip- put heavy cream in the bottom of the pan before you bake them. Makes them come out caramelized and gooey like Cinnabons
How much
Just enough to cover the bottom
💜Now Those Some Cinnamon Rolls💜😋
Oh my word yummmmy
I hoping to make these for Easter
Macrons yesss I won't to learn how to make those sooo cute 😅❤😊
Those cinnamon rolls look delicious and with all that icing , YES, I'm here for it. Where's my glass of milk
Thatsa a bowl...I love Tupperware also. One of my sister's used to sell both that and PC.

Where did you get the orange bowl from. I love it
Yummy 😋🤤
I don't have much counter space, so I kneed my dough with my kitchenaid mixer, do you think it makes a difference?

A packet of yeast is 2 1/4 teaspoons
I am sure she knows 😊
I am sure she has been cooking for a long time..
It just made my first sourdough starter and sourdough bread, it is so easy.
If I can do it you can do it
Yummy😊
One roll can feed an entire family
Be making them for Easter
Where did you get that huge orange bowl?😮
Honest question, why heat milk up then let it completely cool before using it? Can you just let cold milk come to room temp?
That takes a while she sped it up
I think because the butter needed to be melted. She added it to the milk I believe and yeast can be killed in too hot of liquid. My moms recipe has a specific temp to have the milk, butter, sugar mixture when adding to the yeast when making rolls
We're you suppose to count the liquid you put the yeast in as part of your 4 cups of milk or was that extra?
❤❤❤
Can I use active dry yeast.
Before you put the rolls in the oven pour some heavy cream into the pans it keeps the rolls nice and soft. Try it next time you’ll be amazed how well if works
How much cream to put in pan?
@@jacquelinedixon6438 just pour enough to go up a little on the side of the rolls. Doesn’t have to be exact. Tell me how it worked out for you
I make mind out of frozen bread dough. One day I hope to make from scratch
Is this recipe going to be in your cook book? Also what kind of tea are you drinking how do I make it?
Is it plain flour or bread flour?
