The death vow is about psychological impurity. When we deal with death we grieve. Which is a personal process dealing with the inversion of the ego. When we grieve we go inside, reminisce. Doubt, find anger. We are fully in ourself. To be following the vow properly we need to seperate and isolate ourselves for connection(the hair), Jeep our minds clean and free of impurity(the death vow) and hold our connection over our personal ideals(the grape vow). This process is to humble the soul to connect to god, and bypass the confusion of the people read forward in the book. The later stories are meant to show what happens to men when they put themselves above god.

Aside from having his hair cut (unknowingly), wasn't Samson around dead things (animals from the poem I'm recollecting and people he killed)?

Dead body means no dead thing, it means animals.. what your saying is twisting the living word. We are not to eat or touch. Our body is a temple we much clean the inside of a cup..
We must read the red letters in the the bible, not quote Paul. Paul contradiction of Jesus word. Read the word as it’s written. Do not add, mans interpretation is mans interpretation.. the nazarite vow was about the person.
