How 2 - PAYDAY : The Heist - Upgrade your character?

Some people seem to be having problems when it comes to using the unlock and upgrade system in PAYDAY. We have made this quick video to help out and show people how to use this simple system.

you unlock for each "level" you can choose between the specialties to determine what unlock you get per level.

Coming from the complexity of Payday 2, PD TH is pretty straight-forward to play. I really enjoy it, tho.

For the PS3, hold Select and press Δ for Assault, O for Sharpshooter, for X for Support or ☐ for Technician. This can be done before or during the heist. The chosen tree will continue to be unlocked until the player selects a different one or a reputation cap is reached.

While playing or waiting to start the game, hold TAB and press 1 2 3 or 4 (now as technician) That will change your class and show upgrade that will be unlocked on another increase of reputation... Hope I helped :D

I enjoy playing the game with friends but I find this to be a pretty backwards design choice... these choices should really be made OUT OF GAME, before a game, rather than doing it in game when you're supposed to be busy dealing with the heist.

OOOH! So reputation (or lvls or whatever) unlocks the upgrades, but you have to play for that class enough before the upgrade can be used.

Thanks for the info, I didn't notice this and had unlocked things in each tree. Maybe they have set the upgrades on a specific path so it unlock things from another tree on each level? Anyway, thanks again mate.

i've understood it since lvl 2. you select a tree. and then everytime you level up it gives the point to THAT tree. simple as fuck.

Try lowering the graphics settings. Also google search razor game booster. It helps run games a lot smoother. You might also want to google canIrunit to make sure you won't damage your computer(With game booster it should be fine if I just barely doesn't meet the standards)

the game doesnt have an extensive way to change graphics for lower computers, the only way at the time is by changing the resolution, and making the advanced>graphics> to lower graphics. i had to do this for when my laptop isnt working correctly

I dont know if its just me, but i got this problem where i upgrade enough for my weapon-say the amcar4- to get the red dot sight, it will stay on for a few games, then never be on the gun again. if you could figure this out, that'd be helpful.

They shouldn't be called "classes", they should be called "unlock paths". There aren't any classes in this game at all, and when you unlock things they just become available in the loadout area. I think a renaming is needed or a pdf file to explain things lol. I still don't understand fully the mechanics of health and the recharging white outline.

It seem that game automatically selects the class for you sometimes i find myself leveling sharp shooter sometimes assault game never seems to select support. I always pick what I want to unlock. Also while loading the game actually tells u to check the tree and select the class through tab menu to get unlock you want sooner :) who reads the tips in loading screen and gets them properly? Like the mission where u got to stealth says no gunfire so i punched the guy and set off the alarm >.

also if u pick support and it says u cant lvl past rank it defaults to 1 if thats not possible 2 and 3 in that order my friend who wanted full sharp accidently lvled assault a bit instead of sharp-support XD

if you join a lobby than above the chat stands normaly Choose mask and choose character i dont know how its called on english im german so my game is german but its must be choose mask and choose character so remember if the guy choose the heist and all are in lobby before you weapon up you can choose mask and charcater i hope i could help
