Oh The Elder Scrolls...😊 I could play these games til the end of time. Like many people, Oblivion was my introduction to the series. I played Morrowind shortly after it's Xbox release but haven't played enough of it to truly grasp what the series is about. No, Oblivion was my introduction and what an intro it was. I was so mesmerized by the world & the many conversations I could have with NPCs. I'm currently playing through Skyrim (yet again) but on my 360 this time. In going for 100% achievements. I forgot just how well the game runs on the 360. Only thing about Oblivion I'd change is to make Sir Patrick Stewart a recurring/constant NPC to interact with. His voice, pacing, tone/pitch changes etc. are so unique & pleasant, I would've loved to hear more from him. When I got my Collectors Edition of Oblivion I was lucky enough to get the brass coin that came with the collection. Most used copies don't have it.
Ah man, Oblivion. I still remember the first time I played this game on PS3 when it first came out. The intro scene alone blew me away. At the time I had never played a game of this scale, so that combined with coming over from standard definition last gen to the HD next gen mixed with the visual style was just a truly "you had to be there" moment for me. I was in awe at this game and the huge world I was running around in. This game has great art direction that I still love to this day (Game looks great in this footage). An amazing soundtrack from the combat music to the chill, relaxing music that plays during parts where you're just walking around in the world. I spent idk how many hours just exploring, going into random caves and forts and just doing whatever getting lost in this game's world. Oblivion is my favorite RPG of all time. I even love Oblivion more than Skyrim. Skyrim was cool and had its own cool things it did, but it's no Oblivion.
Considering that I have only played a little bit into Skyrim, but put many hours into oblivion just wandering around, I would say that I like Oblivion better than Skyrim too.
Excellent video showing off this game for the 360. I'm on a heavy nostalgia kick for the 360 and I think I'll be getting this game for it. I started out on Skyrim for the 360 (knew of Elder Scrolls before then but wasn't interested in fantasy RPGs), and boy was it a game changer for me. My first time playing on my own HD TV (yes, I was still using a CRT TV into the early 2010s haha, but zero input lag was probably a big reason why I use to be ace at certain online shooters). Anyway, I've wanted to play the other Elder Scrolls games and started looking into modding for Morrowind and then Oblivion for PC a few months ago. Fast forward to now and my stance has changed: not only do I want the nostalgia of playing on the 360 instead, but I don't think a game with as many mods as Oblivion would be good for me: I'd be so overwhelmed with all the mods I'd want to install and look into because of FOMO. Then there would be time put into tweaking things to make sure it all runs right. I'd also probably feel like I could never really enjoy the game completely because I'm sure I'll have that feeling of "just one more mod..." And I have a long list of other games I'd like to play, so vanilla keeps the experience streamlined. So yes, Oblivion on 360 is a choice for me. And it looks like a choice I'll enjoy. Thanks for the upload!
If you have an Xbox One, the backwards compatibility should make it run smoother. Other than that, the PC version should run better if you have the option.
