Treat yourself once in a while with this. No mustard but add some tarragon and I use the prosciutto. The tarragon makes the whole house smell very good, and it tastes fantastic. I had some cooking classes in college and one of my profs had this made in some big restaurant in Boston that he ran back in the day. I still make it this way now. I am going to try some with the mustard the next time I make them.
One of the spice blends that I use has tarragon in it. It's Herbes de Provence and it's one of my favorites. The mustard addition makes a big difference in the dish. Try it... it's quite good. Have a great day Curt Zeek ☺

Thank you for this wonderful recipe. I made this last night for the family and it was superb! The herbes de provence add such a wonderfully, exquisite taste as too does the dijon mustard. I refused to pay 17.00 for a small piece of Jarlsberg cheese at my local grocery store (Which wouldn't have been enough for 5 servings) and opted for swiss cheese instead. It turned out great. Thank you for the recipe and the efficient way you presented it (didn't have to scroll through extra stuff like with so many others). I served with whipped mashed potatoes (with cream and butter) and baked Ciabatta with butter, garlic salt and cheese. A great winter food.

Chicken Cordon Bleu is my favorite chicken recipe of all time! I formulated my own recipe for it, but I like the way you made it here as well! Oh boy I want to eat my screen it looks great! Thanks for another great recipe!

In my version (which I call "Chicken Craw-don Blue" . . . ) I pound the raw chicken to about a 1/8" thickness, and use either Havarti, Edam and/or sharp Cheddar cheese along with the ham as the filling. Since the pieces are thin, I skip the pan sear step, and coat them with Japanese panko bread crumbs for that extra crunch. When I make them again I'll use Dijon on some pieces, spicy mustard on others to coat the inside of the chicken. Thanks again for this and all your videos!

Lol! Sorry James but I already have David who takes my trash out, goes grocery shopping for me, actually knows how to do laundry, helps me with cooking and definitely does the dishes... He cleans the house with me as well... Plus we are getting married next January... I'm a very lucky lady! On the other hand, you can cook like this and might have a lady who will carry your groceries and maybe do the dishes... lol! Have a great day!
Made this tonight and it was excellent, a keeper. Paired it with your twice baked potato ( skipped the red pepper and used herb and garlic cream cheese, bacon, green onion and old cheddar. )

When in oven, I am trying this tonight, but do you turn them around for all sides to get cooked evenly?
Hello David! No just leave them like that in the oven, undisturbed. As shown in the video, I browned all sides in the skillet before they went in the oven. Hope it helps... Enjoy your dinner tonight! ☺

Is there a major difference if you skip frying the chicken and just simply do it completely as a baked dish and just put them directly in the oven until they are cooked?

Is it Herbes de Provence that I added in the breadcrumbs that you are talking about? If so, it's a spice that you can find at your supermarket that is originally from France. If you can't find it, specialty stores should carry it... I hope it answers your question... Francine

I use Black Forest ham sliced thinly. You can use prosciutto but keep in mind that it will be saltier and less smoky. Have a great day! ☺

I don't know because mustard gives such a lovely taste to the dish...
As much as coconut oil is healthy, it will give a flavor that I don't think is the right choice for this recipe. Try using a flavorful oil such as canola, vegetable, grapeseed, etc.
