We'll see if between Bron, AR and Max if that is enough offensive initiators. We don't need a true point guard as much as we need more perimeter D.

@@HbnCbif you are stupid in real life, don’t come online and show that to everyone. Dlo was not on the team in 2022, and we had a good run when we got him. But it’s ok no one gaf about you
Agreed. My initial reaction is that in a vacuum it's solid value that helps solidify a need (3 & D Wing in DFS) and only cost 2nds. A little disappointed the "throw in" was another guard in Milton instead of Center, Day'Ron but Milton is also a slightly bigger expiring than Lewis which we can stack up in a future deal and he can fill in for Vincent's injury in the meantime. This trade effectively puts an end to Cam Johnson, Jerami Gramt, Lavine, Ingram trade talks and highlights Pelinka's reluctance to trade a 1st unless it's for a young promising player/star. I expect a subsequent deal for a backup Center where we consolidate contracts + 2nds while opening up a roster spot for the buyout market where we can pick up a back up point guard. Kessler the only player I see us trading a 1st + swap/etc for and I still doubt that's enough for the Jazz. Robert Williams, Valanciunas, Nick Richards, Olynyk for contracts + couple 2nds is more likely imo.
Collin Sexton and Walker Kessler for Gabe Vincent and JHS with picks would be a steal. Collin Sexton is much better than Gabe Vincent and Walker Kessler is a backup big who's obviously way better than JHS. You would improve your shooting and finally have a backup big that isn't a twig for when AD sits. I like Jaxon Hayes but he's just too skinny if someone is bodying AD. And I think Christian Wood will have a bit of a bounce back season but he's also too small and is more of a backup power forward on this team. Sexton is shooting over 40% from three which you could only pray Gabe Vincent would, and he scores like double the points and plays pretty good defense.
It depends how many picks. If it's two first rounders that's a hard pass. Sexton is a terrible defender like Dlo. Kessler fills a big need but his offensive ability is very limited.
@jeremyratter3634 But he tries on defense. With better schemes and better defenders around him, you can minimize his lack of defensive IQ quite a bit. D-Lo was pretty improved on defense this year on the Lakers.
I keep respecting Rui Hachimura as a personality more and more. The dude was on the brink of being out of NBA due to his terrible defence. He delivered in the Playoffs when it mattered, managed to sign a huge contract with LAL, and improves various aspects of his game every year. Last year he added the habit of charging/cutting to the rim to his 3pt and midrange. This year he's become slimmer, blocks more shots and shoots the 3 lights out. What a turnaround.
When was he on the verge of being out of the NBA? Yes, the Wizards were going to move on from him. That doesn't mean he was going to be out. Let's say Lakers did not trade for him. There was probably at least a dozen teams that would have taken a chance on him. You can say that about a lot of NBA players that have had a decent career.
😊As in the Cece Penniston song goes: Finally 😊. I'm glad the Lakers got DFS and Shake. Welcome to the Lakers, guys. I'm going to miss DLO, though, but I like that they got a 3 and D wing. Good going 👏
I think the Lakers should fight for Walker Kessler. I think Kessler has the defensive versatility to compete in the playoffs, rebound, and defend the rim thus unlocking AD at the 4 and giving the lakers the 2 way wing they have always dreamed of. Spacing issues aside, AD at the 4 defensively with Kessler protecting the rim would be insane. The question is how many iterations of that lineup can survive deep into the playoffs? If the answer is most, then the lakers should go for it.
Adding Shake Milton is pretty clutch He’ll play limited back up minutes. And in adding shake to the trade I assume Gabe is otw out now too It hurts a bit because I liked DLo as a person. He brought a different energy to the team. But he didn’t seem like his heart was in it this year. He needed a new start. Hopefully he goes off in Brooklyn again.
Clutch for what? The Lakers do not have an actual starting lineup. Agree DLo was no longer part of the plan and Shake is a good rotation player but you can't get into the playoffs with 2 ballers, Reeves and 8 guys who are best at 15-20 mpg
DFS was my top target, he shoots three well and doesn’t need the ball. On defense he can take the opposing teams best wing so Bron doesn’t have to. Would have really liked to get DayRon Sharpe in the trade as well as open a roster spot, but can’t have it all I suppose.
As a life long philadelphian (Shake was "drafted" by the sixers and spent most of his career in philly), Shake can get a bucket if needed. I'm happy to have him on our bench, he'll be able to contribute offensively when his number is called
Shake Milton is a very underrated move!!! He is a consistent shooter from deep. It just gives us another shooter with size on him which would be good for switching on defense. Only time will tell obviously but I do think these are excellent moves!! Now we just gotta get a big somewhere man. We need a 7 footer 240+ pounder!!! I still think we should go for Jonas or Nick Richards. Someone like that...lakers gotta make a move man. Forget getting another "STAR" player. We already have our big 3 within AD, Bron and Reaves...everyone else gotta get in where they fit in and contribute. No point of having a fourth player who takes 15+ shots a game, time to use this new wing depth I believe Rui, Finney and Milton collectively would help us a lot offensively.
More like it gives y’all another scapegoat to call trash when the obvious shows lol Lebum has ruined that team and adding Finny smith with Shake Milton is NOT IT 😂😭🤦♂️☠️WOW
The Lakers just need to get healthy in the front court. What they need is help on the perimeter, which was always their weakness, and just got a lot weaker now that Russell's gone. Unless you believe that Christie and Vincent's recent play is sustainable for the rest of the season they're down to just Reaves as a reliable guard.

Lengthens the bench and will hopefully help put up some resistance when 2nd unit comes in instead of getting smoked every game. If these centers can come back and do anything they'll be solid defensively come postseason challenging shooters forcing them to the shot blockers.
Max Lewis was not usable off the bench, we get a possible usable guard off the bench with shake so possible 1 formidable player and 1 role player for DLo, I think it’s a good move than appears on paper.
@@fightnight14true plus you can’t have him play like that. We see what happens w dlo. Gets hot near the playoffs and stinks the bed. I love dlo as a player but if we want to see the lakers win. That’s a good start

They don't. He jumped onto the stream without looking at the deal. A couple minutes into the stream he says he thought there was another minimum deal coming from the Lakers. Basically, he got confused during breaking news.
It was a no brainer Dlo has not been very good this season and its a need they still need a perimeter defender next to Austin who can also shoot 3s.. That would put them in a good spot
I wanted Dlo traded, but we should all thank him for his service to the Lakers the last couple seasons He helped us salvage the Westbrook trade.. He choked vs Denver, but hes a big part of how we got to the WCF in 2023, UNLIKE Darwin Ham!!!
@@upfulsoul826 He choked. Dude is a vet who needed to play better and this season he was a fish out of water they are not running sets that he can be effective in not hating on DLo but lets be real he did not earn his contract in LA
What about Vando and Gabe for Poetl and Temple? That trade would give us back an expiring contract in Temple. We could get off of Gabe’s and Vando’s salary. Temple is a veteran perimeter defender who probably won’t be in the rotation but would give us depth at the guard-forward spot. Poetl can play alongside AD or be his primary back up. Vando gets injured way too much and Gabe is underperforming for his salary.
Very good trade.. Good job Rob! My only concern is that Finny has a player option next season so we theoretically could lose him for nothin in return in Free Agency, but it was worth the risk Olivari should get more of an opportunity at backup pg now with Dlo gone, and Gabe seeminly injured
Problem with new comer players in mid season is familiarity of the system and the players. I know one exception who played good right away, and that is Pau!
One averages 11 and the other 7 so I’m not sure how much better we get I think vando and Gabe need to go also with jhs as a throw in for literally anyone who can play at an nba level
Shake Milton's career avg. is 19-8.5-2.5..DFS is 8-4-1...so it was more of the Nets Org. doing a horrible job n obviously tanking! Agree totally on getting rid of J.Hayes, Vincent, and Vando.. could toss Reddish in there for sure as well.
@@CannedHam2479 I know you're not comparing Vanderbilt to Rodman 😆...FYI Rodman's career avg. was 7ppg 13 rebs and that was just what was on the stat sheet. Vando's no where close besides he's been hurt for damn there 2 full seasons.. definitely not worth the wait nor $.
@CannedHam2479 Yes BUT only if on the other end of the court their defense is CONSISTENTLY affecting the opponents..teams are putting up record numbers. cameron johnson next for the lakers so they would have 2 decent 3andD wings with Lebron. Trading out jalen hood-schifinho, cam reddish, vando plus +2 first round picks. lakers can then use either lbj or AR as pg, pg-reaves, sg- cam johnson, sf- dfs, pg-pf- lebron, c- AD with dalton and rui coming off the bench is a wicked team.

Thank you DLO for everything. You are 1st class in every way. Will continue to root for you
Lengthens the bench and will hopefully help put up some resistance when 2nd unit comes in instead of getting smoked every game. If these centers can come back and do anything they'll be solid defensively come postseason challenging shooters forcing them to the shot blockers.
The Lakers still don't have a legit starting 5 and even if this turns out to make the starters more of a solid unit they have no bench
Great trade let's get it!!!
Max Lewis was not usable off the bench, we get a possible usable guard off the bench with shake so possible 1 formidable player and 1 role player for DLo, I think it’s a good move than appears on paper.
Im excited to see Vando added to a rotation, including Finney-Smith! That could be a lethal defensive duo on the perimeter!
Thanks for everything D’Lo, good luck in Brooklyn, I know you had some great years when you were there
Good trade for the Lakers!
This trade is bittersweet. But if Bron and AR go injured, lakers offense are gonna be horrendous. DLO is the perfect backup PG.
I been saying it’d be hard to replace that if they traded D’Lo. DFS isn’t the full answer to the Lakers issues.
DLo can score at times but is very lethargic defensively. If he cannot score he's basically just a defensive cone.
@@fightnight14true plus you can’t have him play like that. We see what happens w dlo. Gets hot near the playoffs and stinks the bed. I love dlo as a player but if we want to see the lakers win. That’s a good start
Bronny is about to shock Laker Nation! Dlo who?
@@fightnight14 He's a very good playmaker too.
We need a backup point guard now
DFS was a player who the Lakers have had their eyes for awhile and usually Lakers don’t get the players linked to them recently but finally we get one to come to the Lakers!
How do they open a roster spot with two players leaving and two players coming back ???
Milton is a non guaranteed contract
He explains later in the video they can wave and stretch a contract to open a spot. I think he misspoke in the beginning
They don't. He jumped onto the stream without looking at the deal. A couple minutes into the stream he says he thought there was another minimum deal coming from the Lakers.
Basically, he got confused during breaking news.
The Lakers roster went from 'we need to get rid of DLo' to 'now we pray for a BIG or backup PG to fall out the sky' lol
I love it. We got a legit 3 and d wing and Shake is a sneaky pick up as well.
Need a bigger move to win a championship. Gonna miss DLO but it might be the best move for him
No matter who’s on this team … it’s not winning a championship
Great Move! Two 2-way players in Shake & Dorian. Probably trade for a big and get guard from FA or visa versa.
It's a solid move. Can't risk waiting and not being able to trade D-Lo for anyone good.
It was a no brainer Dlo has not been very good this season and its a need they still need a perimeter defender next to Austin who can also shoot 3s.. That would put them in a good spot
I wanted Dlo traded, but we should all thank him for his service to the Lakers the last couple seasons
He helped us salvage the Westbrook trade.. He choked vs Denver, but hes a big part of how we got to the WCF in 2023, UNLIKE Darwin Ham!!!
He didn't choke against Denver. He had some bad games. It was Bron who bricked a clutch three which cost them a game.
@@upfulsoul826You think Sacramento is gonna hire Darwin to replace Mike Brown??? Me neither
🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭🧂🧂🍼🍼🍼🍼🍼
@@upfulsoul826 He choked. Dude is a vet who needed to play better and this season he was a fish out of water they are not running sets that he can be effective in not hating on DLo but lets be real he did not earn his contract in LA
@@I.am_GrootHey, bud.. Nice seeing you on Lakers Nation.. Didnt know you watch this channel.
Man was paid millions. No need to say thank you.
Wonderful wonderful at last it's the best thing happened to Lakers since Anthony and LeBron yeah 👍😊 yahoo 😊😊
Rob Pelinka is the goat, you casual lebron fans just expect the Lakers to dump all their assets for a 40 yr old
@@KpR333more help for the 40 year old
What about Vando and Gabe for Poetl and Temple? That trade would give us back an expiring contract in Temple. We could get off of Gabe’s and Vando’s salary. Temple is a veteran perimeter defender who probably won’t be in the rotation but would give us depth at the guard-forward spot. Poetl can play alongside AD or be his primary back up. Vando gets injured way too much and Gabe is underperforming for his salary.
I think both Vando and Gabe will probably be on their way out. JHS and Wood should follow.
Yep, all four have been disappointments so far this season.
JHS/Wood and a first round might work for Kessler.
Adding Shake Milton is pretty clutch
He’ll play limited back up minutes. And in adding shake to the trade I assume Gabe is otw out now too
Nope. Gabe been solid lately
They had to get rid of DLo great trade not giving up the first
This also allows them to move Vanderbilts contract, or just not have to rush him back
55-45 pleased
Gonna miss DLO
But he was our best trade asset so I hope DFS gives us enough a bump on D to make it worth it
Lakers would be lucky to sniff 48 wins
Very good trade.. Good job Rob!
My only concern is that Finny has a player option next season so we theoretically could lose him for nothin in return in Free Agency, but it was worth the risk
Olivari should get more of an opportunity at backup pg now with Dlo gone, and Gabe seeminly injured
He has a player option but no one has cap space. If he opts out well have bird right and the ability to offer him more than anyone else
@@joeyluckow2490Sounds good! That makes me like the trade even more.. Thanks for the info
I hate to say it but Quincy will not get an opportunity because shake Milton is better than him and I do not mind shake Milton go into the second unit
@ You might be right
Trading rui for Cam Johnson is crazy
I think it is a good trade, but we still need more
Lakers trading picks for a guy to shoot threes, just for him to put on a lakers uniform and not make threes is nuts to me
Thank you for all the content Trevor 💪
Thank God DLO is gone. Now the Lakers can go after a big back up center to fill the 15th spot.
solid depth, defensive upgrade 4sho 💜💛
It’s either Day Ron Sharpe or Walker Kessler
How manny pog did Rodman average???
@@CannedHam2479 I know you're not comparing Vanderbilt to Rodman 😆...FYI Rodman's career avg. was 7ppg 13 rebs and that was just what was on the stat sheet. His scoring or lack thereof was just extras..Rodman in his day caused HAVOC on defense! Vando's no where close besides he's been hurt for damn there 2 full seasons.. definitely not worth the wait nor $.
@@lgood4477 So youre saying ppg isnt the be all end all. Agreed
@CannedHam2479 Yes BUT only if on the other end of the court their defense is CONSISTENTLY affecting the opponents..teams are putting up record numbers. Don't get me wrong Vando IS a stout defender- steal here n there maybe an OFF Reb or 2 but it doesn't balance out on the Offensive side..just too may scorers on opposing teams nowadays WE NEED MORE BUCKETS... BTW Rodman was a monster on the offensive boards!
Great Moves!!!
• DFS is an Athletic “3&D Wing” that can play 3/4 or 5 in Small Ball Line Ups. My Best Comparison is Markieff Morris with Cam Reddish’s Athletic Ability that has some Hood 🥷Brotha in Him so He is not gone let anyone Punk/Bully His Teammates.
• Shake Milton is a 6’5 Streaky Shooter (More Athletic D’Lo) that can Handle the Ball.
• We just need a Young Athletic Big Body Center - Kessler however, if They want 2-1sts for Him then, Nik Richards.
cameron johnson next for the lakers so they would have 2 decent 3andD wings with Lebron.
How can any Lakers fan not like this trade?? 😂 good job so far 👏🏾 lets see what happens next 👀
Finally we need a Bruising defensive C now , Robert Williams would be nice!!!
Good trade for both teams ...
Rob now focus on a power center!
Good move. We lost our best ball handler but we still have enough guys to playmake. A 2 way guard OR backup big is next then the team is set.
AR has proved he can run the point
@@godsson2259not against other athletic point guards like the pistons/cavaliers
@@MacStopHatingits gon bite us in the playoffs. When teams stiffen up on defense if AR is our only playmaker from the guard position.
sexton + kessler is the trade
@MacStopHating so DLo was better at defence?
Trevor, Stop Talking Down On This Trade!! Come On Dude Lakers Fans Including You Have Ben Begging Rob P, To Make A Trade. Especially For D-Low. This Is A Great Trade. Plus We Keep Our Ist Round Picks.. Come On Now Trev
What's up with capping every word?
Still see a potential Dj Murray trade with the Pels ( although this is the Pels), AR 15 and DjM combo would be wild!
Imagine if it was Dennis and DFS. We played around to long!!!!!!
Honestly Trevor I think we need to keep shake Milton because the kid has talent he just needs to be able to get minutes and on our second unit I see an opening for him to get minutes
Now let's go get Marcus Smart and go win a championship 🏆🏆 💯😁
no marcus smart, we could end up having too many wings. we just paid max, and max played very well recently
How long is Vanderbilt out for? What's wrong with him?
I wonder if they offered Gabe and JSH with multiple seconds instead of Dlo. I think I would have liked that more to leave more flexibility for a major move still. Just a thought.
Maybe due to the years on gabe contract? Who knows
Gabe fits with our team a whole lot better because he has way better defense than dlow and we actually need Gabe in the playoffs
I freaking LOVE the trade. N to focus on defense is even more important. Multiple position type player. Excellent. Look at how we played against GSW without Dlo. Don’t need’em!!
