I hunted the Tejon for many years but solely for wild hogs. We always saw elk but none of us could afford the amount of money it takes to harvest one. Plus, yes, it is more like a game preserve for the elk than a fair chase hunt. Nice to see Cody and Steven still guiding after all these years. Awesome bull if this is the type of hunt you enjoy doing.
Not disappointed with hunting videos very often, but this one was flat for me. I appreciate a hunt when the hunter works to find and take an animal. This had taking, but the only work I can credit the hunter with was maybe writing the cheque? Sorry to be so negative, this just really lacked actual hunting...
I dont like to be a hater, but there is nothing to brag about with this Elk. I live about an hour away from the Tejon Ranch and its considered a high fenced Ranch. The Record books do not acknowledge any Elk Trophies from this Ranch plus they are Rocky Mountain Elk not native to So Cal. I am sure its a min of $40-50K or more for this Trophy hunt.
This was this mans dream like he said in the video. This is a hunt 99.99% of hunters will never be able to go on for an elk in a class that 99.99% of hunters will never see in their life.
Not high fence as the comments say but very large ranch where the elk stay. I personally know Cody and he works his ass off for his clients. But this is a typical gunworks kinda hunt, others do the work.
Rifle hunting a private ranch in the rut? Maybe this would be interesting without all the roads and radio communication, but this is more like big bull farming than hunting.
If you have the money why not ?? lol good vid. I'm trying to find a place to go in A zone this weekend to try and tag my first archery blackmail with my bow if y'all have any ideas or can help plz let me know all the public lands are on 🔥

Yeah cause they are behind a high fence and you have to pay tens of thousands of dollars to access them. This dude has lame dreams I guess.
@@RuggedSportsmen This isn't a hunt, this is shopping.

"HIgh Fence Out Of The Box"
Great shot and a beautiful Bull. Well done.
I can’t believe Gunwerks would post a video of this caliber, Elk hunt 😂
I heard the whitebone touch in the video. Congrats on a beast of an elk
If this is how you hunt in California count me out.
I love the show, but this isn't even hunting.

Beautiful bull, definitely a caned hunt, “to each their own” congratulations on him, but not the kind of hunting for me.
"His lifelong quest of tagging a 400" bull comes to fruition with a 414" typical 6x6." Hmm, last I checked you don't tag privately owned/sold animals.
🥱 a high fence elk rifle hunt from a truck with radio communication from spotters. Pretty Lame Gunwerks.

A zone is huge but I usually hunt off the 166 going towards the beach
