How do you control the A807 with your PC please? What software do you use? I’m particularly interested to have very slow wind on mine. Never knew you could do such slow winds similar to an A812. Thanks
I use a terminal program in Linux, can't remember the name but there are several. In windows there should be several too. They are basically the same programs that were used in the old days to dail up with your modem. These programs were called Telix etc. Set the baudrate, parity, stopbits COM port etc. and you're done.
hi very like otari mtr 12 i have got it because parts are easyer to get there's one big plus i can change over the 1/2 inch head blocks i had to think what was the best tape deck for the money the otari mtr 12 won because as i could move it a round and get my legs under the deck to do any editing work 3 speed like here 2 lots of eq settings just no loc on the otari
Can you record on this machine? I found one cheap and got it. but the manual says I have to press 'ready' to record which is only on the VU versions. could you help? Thanks
@@PhilipvanderMatten I've looked through it and I can get it to do all the features shown in your video. I can get it to input monitor an external source through the line ins. but struggle to get it to record anything. How do you record on yours?
Hello ! Please advise! I need a tape recorder in the studio for the final mixes. It is possible to buy Studer B67 or Revox C270. Or more expensive, if possible, Studer A810 ! Which of them more realistically records the original track in terms of sound? I will be glad to answer! I live in Kyiv, Ukraine
hi done work to a tascam 38 the deck was not working main pcb was to far gone so i jazzed the deck up so it would play again and i put alot of new things on the deck the speed thing you have high low tenson in the rew ff and a tape spool mode on a tascam 38 it's a player only now i have alot of them i jazz the eq an copy the kind of set up on the 34 many more speeds as i am a tec best way to use the decks
Soundwise, I cannot hear much difference, but I may not have the best ears anymore. Function-wise the 807 is of course way better then the B67, but the B67 still has a special place in my heart ❤
I really wish you would make a whole new video concerning that remote control software. Or, If you even setup a site where people around the world could download it. You could charge a fee & make some pretty good money. I have goggled everywhere I can think of & didn't find a thing or additional information. Thanks
I'm interested in the opposite - to be able to control other equipment based on position of the tape, for example to control space between songs on my vinyl recording machine. i've watched many videos about tape records but this is the first one where someone mentions that serial port thing...
Very informative! This machine can do a lot of things that I never imagined it could. Thanks, Philip!
Thanks for a fantastic video! Wasn't expecting to see RS232 control. Thank you very much. I have a Revox C270 which I will try RS232 mode with.
Die schöne rote Digital-Anzeige, genau das ist es, was ich an einer Revox B77 vermisse

Impressive but how do you buy tape for it and at what cost and, more importantly, what do you do with it?
Foarte bun reviul dvs si foarte destept acest magnetofon profesional . Oare ce pret are acesta bijuterie ? 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks Philip great video

Geweldig !
shift-play was new to me. I knew my C274 could go backwards, but not the 807.
They are quite similar

Now that's a fine piece of 1990's technology.
i stand corrected, you mention in another clip that in fact is from 1992.
No 😉
More like 1990's🤗
I'm still getting an A80 seems better than my A807 what do you guys think?
Mooi ding hoor !

@@ze6rik AFAIK the audio circuit is the same

I see the potential for a remote controller made with an Arduino board... 🙂
You volunteer?
