Thank you so much Taylor for these a invaluable tutorials. I watched your whole wedding shoot videos prior to a wedding I shot recently and I had to throw away all my other past portfolio pieces as the tips I gained from your videos took my photography to the "next level" and was exactly what I needed. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. 🤙
I WISH more people here would do everything at the venue! Here you end up driving between home, church, location portraits and THEN reception venue. The few times I have shot weddings at one location, it was an absolute breeze. And a lot less stress! Great videos, love them!
In Poland (depends when ceremony is schedulded in church but mostly like that): 10 - getting ready 13/14 - ceremony in church 15 - wishes 16/17 - dinner 18 - first dance 19 - family photos 20 - cake but not always 24 - sometimes cake and always traditional "oczepiny", typicaly throwing bouquet/veil, sometimes there are "games" for guests and a couple, it takes about 30 minutes .... and a photoshoot on the other day and the other location
Always so helpful! So grateful To have found you Taylor! Weddings are not really my jam; I’m an introvert as well and candid styles are so similar. Your tips are so practical and clear ! Thank you!
This is super helpful as I've been roped into filming a wedding this Saturday, only to find out I don't get the day off work, and I now have to outsource it to trusted others. Very unnerving but this is great.
Phenomenal, Taylor. Loads of practical minutia that I wouldn’t have considered if it weren’t for you. Hope Vegas was a blast 😂 thanks again, and peace!
This is awesome, I’ve never been to a wedding so I have no concept of timeline or what to expect. Of course I plan on picking that up after second shooting but this is good to know 😅
Older video, but have you ever worked a traditional Indian wedding, or do you want to? I'd love to see videos from a different style wedding, if you ever work them.
Hi Taylor, love your channel very inspirational. I know this is off topic but would appreciate your opinion. I’ve been using a 50mm 1.4 for a lot of getting ready photos but want to invest in a wider prime for smaller rooms. Would you recommend a 35 1.4 or 24 1.4 I know you use both. My usual set up is 85 1.4 70 200 2.8 50 1.4 and 24-70 2.8. Thanks for all your advice and content 📸😊
Question because im a bit confused. When you say target venues, what do you mean by that? dont the brides have a location in mind already?? or are they venues you work for/with to get you clients?
Just venues that I want to work at. Tag them on instagram more, send them sample books, send them galleries for their use on social media, SEO the blog posts better. Then couples getting married there will find me.
Taylor Jackson thanks a lot man! Makes a lot of sense. It’s interesting how wedding photography is more marketing/business than anything. Love your work/channel by the way! It’s been incredibly inspiring!
Photographer Goals! I just started this year and have four for the year. Ive been shooting for about 8 years now with lots of engagements and portraiture, but weddings were something I avoided just until I knew I had the skill and the equipment to properly cover them. I can't wait until I can make a significant yearly income with wedding photography.
Hey great video as always. Very informative! When do you usually do the cake cutting photos? I think that’s the only thing that was left out that is, at least in my opinion, a staple shot. Thanks
Ja Quayan only about 25% of my weddings have a cake now. Usually we do it just after the last speech before first dances. Or if it’s being served as dessert, sooner. In that case maybe just before they sit down for dinner
If I was photography only I probably would have been shooting them for a year year. Though the potential Nikon full frame mirrorless might have disrupted that
It’s exciting to see what they will bring to the table!! Your videos have actually opened my eyes about being a introvert and wanting to shoot professionally. I have my first wedding shoot this September. Any tips from the very first wedding you shot

Wow! Try it in the UK. Arrive at 9 for prep, wedding at 12 and the first dance isn’t until 8. That’s a full day.
Thanks a lot for you videos and for sharing your experience, its a big help for a person like me who is not that experienced in wedding photography.

I've only been to like 3 so I feel ya, good luck!

Hello from Australia 🇦🇺
Your thoughts on the Fuji x series?
If I was photography only I probably would have been shooting them for a year year. Though the potential Nikon full frame mirrorless might have disrupted that
