I find this one infinitely fascinating. The trope of the black box is usually used to censor something that is supposed to be too terrifying to straight up show. It's typically reserved for the most evil, incomprehensible horror. But this guy seems equally, if not more, scared and cautious of you. I like to imagine that it sees you as a black rectangle too.
Either incomprehensible horrors, or things just that generally should not be known or seen. Maybe this is some kind of higher-dimensional being, come down to explore, or, more likely, this is just another Forbidden, one who's form is just too... well, forbidden to show.

I found one after seeing a small black square float and ragdoll around the balcony and when I got up to investigate, it no clipped and stayed in the kitchen area and kept moving away from me. The second I interacted with it, lines of glitched colors started to form and the game crashed. So… don’t touch them… at all
Maybe it's related to the entity that sends you photos of your base later in the game? If you open the locker it's hiding in, there's a black void inside and the game crashes.
Okay, I just encountered one earlier today and yeah, don't touch them. I was asleep and saw it spawn and it just kinda glitched outside of my base unable to get close to me, it feels like something that just spawns to crash ur game if you're playin to long.

*Greetings* Ever since this game new update came out, there's been almost 20 or so videos and more (with a heavy emphasis being made by Russian speaking users somehow in record time). Just like how another user in this video had mentioned, the action that occurs is that their game crashes, prior to displaying a visual glitch akin to a destroying graphics card, with lines forming perfectly symmetrical squares. However - what I doubt of their comment is that said effect is apparently reserved for a more, 'volatile' and definetly malicious entity, recognizable for their spectral apparition that cuts through walls, their distinct sound/music accompanying them and their appearance to that of a shadowed mannequin. With that being said, If it's to believe said entity spawns only on said conditions, it might be a more 'safer break-time' entity, as it's nor the first one with information with said traits - you can even continue to pause and play the game, and only would have this occur, if you try to force yourself to touch it. Judging by the way the rectangle moves, it kinda feels like it's following a certain animation. Combined with the pace of the footsteps, it feels like this is a Half Life 2 Citizen animation behind that rectangle...but any model can use that animation, I'm sure, so we don't know for certain if it's actually a Citizen.
I don't have a clue about what the game is, but, if you trust this and some other comment about this thing spawning during a long play session, then the whole debacle seems like a really big crutch on the dev's part lmaoo

Funnily enough, I made up an entity like this before even 0.6 (when Bad Sun was first added). The concept was even similar to what we see in the video: it wouldn't attack you or anything, it would just appear in a random place and sometimes wander around.

Considering dr kels lore, where he might not be human despite having full human dna, the possibility of him being pre programmed not to see certain things does heavily intrigue me, with the only reference of what he could be is when the sun's solar rays are turned to 100 where the orbs pop up after, many game over's for him does show that there is some alterior motive to his existence, one kept so secretive that not even any faction would know of him, but they know of them, through dr kels own eyes, he may very well be the peace that they would willingly give, we may never see this unknown faction ever since they clearly hold very little interest in both us and the other factions, only just the sun for energy reason, a conveniant plotpoint to find out who they could be dealing with should conflict arise, and this very well means they are far more advanced and inteligent compared to the factions shown in game, we can even compare this to the shadow, the reason as to why it target's us but is not known by the other factions is because they are a direct enemy towards this shadow faction, and the door that chases us after a certain amount of play time is actually a mobile recovery gate, most liekly sent should dr kel be suddenly compromised by one of the factions present, or unkown factions, we don't know.
