      Karibu, there are several options for the taxi business, it depends on whether you prefer a hybrid or non hybrid, for hybrids, honda fit hybrid, note e power or toyota aqua are the best bet, for non hybrids again honda fit is good enough there's also mazda demio, vitz, or suzuki swift, if you even want more efficient cars you could consider suzuki alto, daihatsu mira or suzuki ignis

    • @ikevauto-reviews

      Welcome.
      If we introduce the demio in this case then making a decision becomes even more tricky because for the most part these cars are all quite good, its the finer details that will now enable one to select the best option as per your needs. The fit is the most spacious so if you prefer more space then it will be the best alternative. I am abit skeptical about the Fit's hybrid Gearbox, generally dual clutch transmissions are not that reliable in the long run so I may not confidently advise you to go for it, only time will tell how durable it will be. So I would say if you want a fit then the non hybrid may be a more reliable choice in the long run. In terms of hybrids I would say the aqua is generally better although its not as spacious as the fit. Between the aqua and demio I would recommend the demio 1300cc because its very fuel efficient (can get up to 20km/l) without having the complexity of a hybrid. Its very reliable, looks good and has an almost premium interior with impressive features such as the heads up display, paddle shifts etc. Its only downside is the limited interior space just like in the aqua.

    Does the subsequent honda Fit hybrid have the same problem with the dual clutch transmission for instance the 2016 or 2017 honda Fit hybrid?

    • @ikevauto-reviews
      @ikevauto-reviews  5 місяців тому

      Not as much as the 2014/2015 models, software updates and improvements were done in the subsequent models though there have still been a few cases of dct failure, it's generally a complex transmission compared to a cvt

    @possumkeys 6 місяців тому

    Any updates regarding the fit hybrid dct for 2017?

    • @ikevauto-reviews
      @ikevauto-reviews  6 місяців тому

      The 2014/2015 models were the most affected with regard to the dct, 2016 and onwards are a bit more reliable, improvements and software updates were done to improve on the reliability and performance of the dct though there have still been a few issues especially with high mileage examples, some of the issues are jerky and rough gear changes, and even sudden complete failure but generally 2016 models and onwards are better reliability wise compared to 2014s. Just make sure to use the recommended transmission fluid, using wrong fluids may also cause issues. Frequent rough accelerations can also lead to rapid wear of the transmission as the clutches engage and disengage

    What's the repair cost of the hybrid?

  • @erickjuma7643
    @erickjuma7643 2 роки тому +1

    Given that these hybrids are imported why they're already 8yrs old, does that mean the battery has around two yrs left?

    • @ikevauto-reviews
      @ikevauto-reviews  2 роки тому +3

      It depends, some of them might be 8 years old but they have just done around 30, 40 or 50,000 kms, meaning they still have around 200,000 kms more to do because they normally need replacement after around 250,000kms or around 10 to 15years depending on the mileage you put on the car. So its not primarily dependent on the years but also the mileage. That's why it's important to go for a low mileage one though you also have to be careful because the mileage can be rewinded to make you think its low mileage.

    • @ikevauto-reviews
      @ikevauto-reviews  Рік тому

      Axela hybrid shares the same hybrid system with toyota prius so its just as reliable and almost as efficient as the prius. Compared to the aqua, aqua is lighter and more compact so its slightly more efficient than axela hybrid but its very cramped in terms of interior space

    This Qn is in relationship to the statements you made about the Nissan Latio that it is not advised to drive long distances

    • @ikevauto-reviews
      @ikevauto-reviews  Рік тому

      Yes they can travel for long distances without any problems. The reason I said nissan latio is not very ideal for very long distances is because of the not so reliable cvt then secondly, 3 cylinder engines are not very good for long distances, 4 cylinders engines are better, more refined and powerful.

      The batteries last up to around 10 to 15 yrs or in terms of mileage upto around 250,000kms. I think you'll be better off with one that has much less than 100,000kms, you'll have more battery life left.

    Does the Honda Fit 2016 have the same gear issues ?

    • @ikevauto-reviews
      @ikevauto-reviews  Рік тому

      Mostly the recalls were done on 2014 models but the same dual clutch transmission has still been used on the hybrids models from 2014 till 2019 so there may be chances that issues may crop up here and there considering the complex nature of the gearbox.

    • @ikevauto-reviews
      @ikevauto-reviews  Рік тому +1

      Honda did some recalls to sort out a software issue with regard to the dual clutch transmission but generally dct's are complex transmissions and not quite as reliable as automatics and cvts. Its only time that will tell how reliable they will be in the long run. For now I would only advise someone to get the cvt or alternatively a toyota aqua. It would be safer to wait and see how things will go with the dct in a few years, say around 1 or 2 years to come.

    Were the Honda fit recalls done in a period of one year and was it only the 2014 model?

    • @ikevauto-reviews
      @ikevauto-reviews  2 роки тому +3

      The 2014 model started being produced in 2013, so the first recall was done in October 2013, the second one in December 2013 and the third one in February 2014, so yes the recalls were specific to the 2014 model but do note that that same transmission has still been used in the models that have followed on such as the 2015, 2016, 2017 and on. Definitely they have been improving on the transmission with time but still its a dual clutch transmission, so there's always the chance of something going wrong, its not very reliable compared to other transmissions.
