Best thing about you is you are very good listener and you dont interrupt your guest. You are great interviewer
Absolutely
Very true
Thanks
I never took him seriously but he is a gem of a person and a great human being. So genuine and truthful. Great to know him
Absolutely
@@-WhoAMI.. yeh producer ke paise udathe rahe 20 din thak south Africa mein baitke just because druggy sanjay dutt didn't go in time, even he refused to shoot in India. Producer ne sahi kiya😅
Thanks Siddhart for bringing him here.. Love to see Sanjay's perspective.. Sahi hai ye banda.. Instead of falling in love with an actor n an actress..Now I realised what is actually love is the behind the seen builders n creative people.
Watching this interview is as good as reading 10 books
Thanks
This is one of your best interviews Siddharth!
Thanks braaadaaa! Love your content too !!!
No bro gurmeet ram rahim wala was the best 😉😅
Actually the credit should go to Sanjay Gupta more. He has always been more vocal and upfront and I have always found his interviews captivating (unlike his films😅)
Sanjay Gupta is a much more interesting as a person than his actual movies lol. I feel like he should been a critic or producer, rather than director
@@v-trigger6137 hahaha very true. How I wish he makes the films matching his excellent oratory skills. I like his films yet he is capable of more.
Reservoir Dogs - Kaante
Oldboy - Zinda
Unknown - Acid Factory
Seven Days - Jazbaa
Broken - Kaabil
U Turn - Musafir
Ganpat chal daru la - Not original.
These are some of the movies he talked about, i honestly didn't even know who directed these movies.
Seems like a good guy otherwise.
Aatish -a better tomorrow
He just was ahead of time by watching these movies before the rest of us 😂
😂😂😂
The Juror - Khauff
Desperate Measures - Jung
Blind Fury - Kaabil
Out For Justice - Ram Shashtra
If a Hollywood biggie does it, it’s paying HOMMAGE or Getting Inspired.
Loved his Shoot out at Wadala starring John Abraham and Kangana Ranaut and Shootout at Lokhandwala starring Vivek Oberoi and Sanjay Dutt...and who can forget the most stylish films: Aatish starring Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Pancholi....and Kaante....Love Sanjay Gupta films ...!!!
Kaabil
Hes taking credit for anthologies, and after a career of copying hollywood films he is blaming film critics for the industry's problem. His whole career was him watching a hollywood movie at night and then having a meeting with Sanjay Dutt the next day to make an Indian version
Partly quite true 😂
😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
How many movies you made? Copying is also an art😂😂😂😂
Bhai Mahesh Bhatt ne bhi copy ki par movie banane ko bhi talent chahiye khali copy karke picture nahi chalti
You do the best interviews Siddharth! I like the fact that your guests are not just huge achiever’s but people who have had immense professional and personal struggles , you bring out the human side of public figures and it somewhere helps us to realise that no matter how hard it gets , there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. Its fab!
Raw-Organic-Unfiltered This is what an interview should be like!!💯
One of the best interviews in recent times. He let Sanjay speak his heart after putting the questions forward , listened and this made the conversation flow.
Great to know him because of your interview.Sanjay Gupta is a Gem.
Super Sanjay interview! My opinion completely changed after seeing 'Animal' today on netflix. It was bloody amazing. I did go for the hearsay and the view portrayed by some in the industry and I am soooo wrong! I wish i had seen it in the cinema. It is great acting by Ranbir and Anil Kapoor stood out too. Cinematography, fast paced screenplay kept me involved till much after the titles run and into 'Animal Park' the next one that shall also blow the audiences. Most of all, its absolutely well done execution by the director, Sandeep Vanga Reddy. You sir, if reading this must take a bow!
Phenomenal interview. Can you bring him back again after few months for part -2 for interview.
Terrific interview. Good insight into the thought process of a talented filmmaker. Didn’t know he had such versatile talent, like his keen sense of music and lyrics.
When a person can do casually speak on his work without any frills and that too when you are in show biz shows your real side & real character.. great interview.. god bless both of you 💕🙌🏻
Tum bhi showbiz me ho???
This interview is a pure nugget of gold. Simply loved hearing Sanjay Gupta. Even Sid didn't talk much and looked to be enjoying listening to Sanjay!
Another shot hit by Sidharth; a sixer out of stadium;. First time we heard Sanjay Gupta a most stylish director from Hindi film industry. Really a awesome, unforgettable experience.. One of best interview taken by Sidharth a again after Vikram Bhat.....👍👍🌹
One of best interviews of Bollywood director.I don’t watch Bollywood interviews mostly but this was piece of cake to watch ,very much loved it from starting to end .
Siddharth Sir. Thank you so much for this Podcast yaar. Enjoiyed it more than a lot. Now wishing to meet Sanjay Gupta Sir once. Will definitely meet him. Very beautiful Personality
Such a positive and real guy .. he accepts his mistakes and knows that's how life acts.. beautiful interview.. only one thing I think missed was his influence of global cinema
Siddharth I simply love your podcasts ❤ No hidden agenda's.... Simply raw and authentic. Love you brother. Akanda Bharat 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 Jai Hind
Been a fan of sanjay gupta sir since aatish...sanjay dutt + sanjay sir= cult...watched kaante in theater..still enjoy watching it ...his shot takin...handling his actors..editing...music..top notch..big fan sanjay sir..🙏🙏🙏
Oh my God....what a great guy Sanjay Gupta is. And all these years i had such a negative perception about him. I just wanna apologise to the universe because I can never meet him in person to apologise. I would always pray for him and consider him one of the best directors we have had. Thank u for this show Sid.
I have seen a lot of interviews and mentioned they were best but I don’t have an adjective for this one! ❤❤❤❤ just touched!
Why Ma'am?
It means you means you have to improve your vocabulary.
Sanjay, abruptly found this on UA-cam and finished in single sitting. Not a movie lover but going to watch Animal & Kaabil. In this interview I find myself sitting and accepting my shortcomings. My love and regards to a honest soul.❤️
Don't waste yr time w Animal😢😢
Animal is garbage
@@jackshrimpit's not for simps and SOY-BOYS
Kaante was a historical film in its own sense....!!!😊
Find out which hollywood movie it was copied from.
Most of the Sanjay Gupta's movies are copied.
@@theleakingpot Reservoir dogs and I must say Kaante was a very cheap copy of the original.
Copy from a Hollywood
It was a cheap rip off ... Cheap copy of 2 Hollywood classics .. nothing special bout it ..
When an Interview feels like a Conversation! You know good job has been done. Sanjay Gupta spoke from the heart and one could feel that
This is one of the best interviews in recent times.... Pure and raw .... Thanks Sid and Sanjay.
It is true, Ranbir reminded me of Sanjay Dutt in the movie. I saw the movie on Netflix, not in a theater. A lot of Ranbir’s acting was as if it was inspired by Sanjay Dutt.
Bollywood seems to have forgotten Sanjay Gupta.
In 1990s he made stylish movies.
WITH GOOD REASON... SHIT DIRECTOR MAKING MOVIES OFF DAWOOD IBRAHIMS AND ALL THE SHITS, MOVIES , MAKING TRASH FILMS! WHO HAD NO BUSINESS MAKING ANY MOVIES TO BEGIN WITH!! 😑😒
Sanjay Gupta is an intelligent person
@@vasantabaskar8287 :😆😆😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😆😆😆
They had to fade him out. Now you have to buy rights to recreate foreign films. Or we can watch the original instead of watching his cheap copies.
Once(I think in 2004) we visited his home.there one Pakistani poetess recited her poems n gazals. After that we had dinner there.Sanjayji.was great host
What a genuine interview, watched something truthful after long time. Good life lessons.
One of the Best Episodes / Interviews taken by you...Sanjay Gupta we want to see more of Kaante and Aatish from you
Loved every second of the interview, 90 mins just flew by ❤❤❤
Dude has mastered the art of taking interview. Didn't even realised he is there yet he was so instrumental. Glad that I got to known the journey of Sanjay Gupta. Would love to see what comes next from his mind om svreen.
Thanks Siddharth for this interview. Sanjay Gupta was a guy who was never given his rightful due by the industry and its shady Machiavellian hanger on ecosystem, but as bindaas and forthright he was he managed to survive it all. Looking forward to seeing him back on screen.
Awesome conversation. Awesome interaction.
Its thruth Animal was inspired by Sanjay Dutt character, Ranbir moved and spoke very much like Sanjay baba. But in a very good way all real Sanjay fan miss him in movies, we got some comeback
I have been following sanjay guptas films since the 90s and today i saw the man,I feel, in person. Beautiful interview.❤
Remarkable director n musician ..What a gem for his contribution to industries.Hardworking n skilled with so much humility still exist today -Sanjay Gupta
That is why other actress fall for him n other falls for his creativity n craftmanship .
I remember, in some interview of the past, Sanjay Gupta getting irritated with the media griping about him (Sanjay) copying from other films.
His response was honest and brutal :"If Coppolla or Spielberg copies Kurosawa, everybody says, "He's paying a 'hommage' to the great Japanese filmmaker. But if I copy from some film I want to remake, it's 'copying'!"
that is because he never acknowledged the original filmmakers.
That argument has no merit to it. It's classic 'what about-ism'. Defend what you've done instead of pointing the finger at others.
the difference is Spielberg and Coppolla homaged Kurosawa but also made innovative and groundbreaking stuff. meanwhile Sanjay Gupta's entire career is just build on the plagiarism of Quentin Tarantino and John Woo, and so many other hollywood films which were flopped at the box office or obscure. he thought if he copies from flops movies, nobody will notice it 💀. like Kaante is just such a obvious scene to scene remake of Reservoir Dogs, but he has never admit that, even tho Quentin Tarantino himself is so humble that he said he liked Kaante and preferred it over his own movie. mtlb banda ek toh copy karta hai uper se saale ka pride bhi alag se hai
Rajkumar Santoshi Pay homage to Akira Kurosawa in the beginning of China Gate Because it was inspired by Seven Samurai .
@@v-trigger6137people like you know how to bark at trees. Tu exact wohi bol Raha Jo critics bolte hai. Khud banana films. Hollywood ne Oldboy ki remake banai, Sanjay Gupta ne b banai (Zinda) and usne Park Chan-Wook ko original story ke liye mention b Kiya hai. Kaante is more of a re-imagining of Reservoir dogs, which Tarantino also liked and praised. There is a huge difference between Remake and copy. Agar Gupta scene to scene, frame to frame and dialogues to dialogue exact banaye film banata tab woh Copy kehlata hai. Kaante is a Classic, Shootout films are classic. Every film is taken from, inspired from, somewhere else. Tu aaj original script bana hi ni sakta. Deekhane ka Tareeka bas badal sakta hai...
It's so true! When I watched Animal, I was like I've seen this in Old Boy and Zinda!
Zinda old boy ka hi to remake h
I never knew that I loved Sanjay Gupta this much! I mean all the movies he has made, I was like "hoga koi director". Thank you Kannan for this soulful interview! ❤️
Aatish was very stylish and all but the real heart of the film was Baba and Nawab's friendship. The reunion scene after Baba returns to see Nawab's condition gives goosebumps to this day❤
Indeed, Dialogues conversation between Baba and Nawab in Aatish are heart touching, really affects on our mind. There 3-4 scenes between these two characters, but as a hardcore fan of Hindi films , I saw these are sensational, serious but extraordinary scenes directed by Stylish Sanjay Gupta in Aatish..
@@manjitgoregaonkar645 personally saying , Sanjay Gupta was good as director , Watch Zinda movie, I knew it was remake but still, Aapne dekhi hai ?
Loved his Zinda and Lokhandwala. He is a Technical Maestro. He is right, Aatish had some serious fire power and it was really magnum opus in terms of its scale.
This guy is so genuine and honest. LOVED listening to him.
Good to hear from Sanjay Gupta, reminded me of Aatish, followed by Zinda and his others, always had be waiting to watch his upcomings, till today!!. Love Sanjay Gupta.
Amazing interview.. first time saw full video
Of siddharth
Amazing narrator Sanjay Gupta ❤❤
Love listening to him
Great interview Siddharth. Although most of his films are more of style than substance, I have always liked Sanjay's brand of movie making. Kaabil, I hated the trailers but was pleasantly surprised and was thoroughly entertained when I watched it in theatre after it's release. Haan, sabse zyada credit should go to Hrithik for his phenomenonal performance but yes for one of my all time favourites Kaante, it got to be Gupta who needs to be revered to the hilt for his vision. Sanjay Dutt never looked so dishy as he looked in Kaante. Even Tarantino acknowledged that among all the remakes or adaptations (whatever we call it) of his cult Reservoir Dogs, Kaante is his most favourite. That film is still criminally underrated.
One of most stylish films maker director 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤ even though inspired from other films 😜 he was super stylish in presentation ❤ saw full interview today 😅
Excellent speaker 🔊 Sanjay Ji. U deserve to more active 💪💪💪💪 in commercial films 😉😉😉😉 Surely your works was ahead of time in stylish presentation

This interview was really intersting
Kaante film introduced nior genre which is almost forgotten genre now due to nior genre bombay velvet disaster.
Aamir Khan is always ahead of his time , aaj jo log content cinema ki baat karte hai , vo aamir jo jeeta wahi sikandar se karte aaya hai , aaj bhi laal singh ke flop hone ke baad bhi vo sitare zameen par drama film kar raha hai , he was always trend setter.
Get your facts checked. Which movies made Aamir trend setter???.
Jo jeeta wohi Sikandar copy of foreign movie. Ghajni copy, Taare Zameen par was directed by Amol Gupta whose credit Aamir stole. 3 idiots novel adaptation. Now Sitaare zameen pe copy of Spanish movies
Where is originality??
@@TuLips-gx3gl hater spotted !!
Jjws was an adaptation movie is correctly mapped in Indian culture ,
It was trend setter for Indian cinema not for world cinema
In 90s every 2nd movie was copied or inspired from Hollywood movies,
Amol.gupte himself said that after a week of shooting aamir was not happy with the shoot then both decided that aamir will direct further
Now , do you really understand difference between script and novel !!
So according to you Forrest gump was also a copy movie as it was based on novel !!
😂😂😂
That's what come when you hate someone blindly
He was and he is the biggest trend setter in Indian cinema along with Kamal Hasan
Now agree or die
@@moviecric700 Sorry to inform the I m not a blind hater, I m a rational thinker.
A copy movie like JJWS becomes trend setter for World cinema, Wow wht logic. Tell me which movie on cycling became world cinema after JJWS??
Taare Zameen par was offered to Akshay Khanna a more emotional & sensitive actor than Aamir. But Aamir removed him and took the credit. Amol Gupta made Stanley ka Dabba and proved tht he was the director of TZP. There are video's available in UA-cam proving Amol Gupta truth.
Forest Gump is adaptation but Lal Singh is copy Forest Gump movie. The writer Kulkarni himself said after watching gump he wrote the script. So it's a copy. Now if you have then come for debate otherwise keep buttering Aamir Khan.
@@TuLips-gx3gl read carefully ,I said it was trend setter for Indian cinema not world cinema ,
So try to read properly
