    Very helpful, particularly the link to the rivets. Why Winkhaus does not (like other manufacturers) use screws is, presumably, to encourage users to buy the whole mechanism. I will avoid Winkhaus mechanisms in future, as mine failed after five years.

      Hi, yes that is most likely the reason , would be so much easier if they did use screws.
