- Wow! This song was really powerful. Reminds me of me at his age. Did you know that there is a statistic out there that says something like: If you don't have a spiritual experience that changes your life by a certain age... you more than likely will never have a spiritual experience. I think that age was somewhere in our 20's.
The reason why is because as you grow older you have less of an open mind and start developing your opinions. When we are young we are really trying to figure out life and our beliefs. Then as we get older, those beliefs are not shaped very much. They actually harden. If your opinion is that you don't need anything spiritual, it gets harder and harder to ever accept that you might need it.
Obviously, anyone at any age can find God and many do. But there is still that statistic that a significant amount (percentage-wise) of people don't.
So, in this song, it sounds like Justin had his spiritual experience. That is awesome. I am so happy that he is now happy in his life. Finding freedom in spirituality surely makes you happy. It gives you hope, love, courage, purpose, relationship, meaning, and many other things. Good Job Justin!

this song is basically his suicide letter you can clearly see it in the lyrics - " feeling like I'm breathing my last breath feeling like I'm walking my last steps" and " thinking my journey's come to an end sending out a farewell to my friends"
Its about how he was so suicidal at one point of his life and the thing which gave his life purpose was his faith and God. Purpose is a legendary album its one of the biggest pop albums of the decade. So glad you reacted to it❤

this is an excellent song. it can be perceived in multiple ways. it can simply be about the people in his life who gave him purpose and helped him escape his demons(portrayed by the dancers in the video). it can be about God and his relationship with his faith and how it has given him a purpose. and it can also be about his relationship with his fans. who have stood by him through everything, giving him and making him realize his purpose. its brilliant writing. great reactions btw, keep them coming.
Yes, I agree. I was not sure in the beginning, but analysis through it revealed to me that it was really about his relationship with his creator that gave him purpose. I think that he loves his fans, but even when he had massive fans, he felt "lonely". So in this song he was speaking to the one thing that gives him purpose and that will never turn its back on him.
I do agree, that it could be fans he was mentioning, but after hearing about all his spiritual experiences from the comments, I thought it just had to be his creator.

this is called “purpose the movement” because his album was called “purpose” and it was a movement because this album was so important to him because it was raw. it showed his emotions. you should react to the whole album! especially the song “i’ll show you”
Yes, I agree....There was a humongous "purpose movement" years ago. The purpose book sold 50,000,000 copies. I am pretty sure, his mentors really helped him define his purpose and it inspired him to create his album. I love it.

This post has come just in the right time for me today! God is always right on time. I have been sitting here falling onto a deep depression, which is NOTHING like me at all. But watching the results of the Georgia elections and now the house/senate debates on electoral votes is depressing. But then your reaction popped up on my screen. this was justin's suicide note, but now it's dedicated to his fans, beliebers, and God. he's not religious though, he doesn't like to describe himself as religious because of all the damage church has caused minorities in the past. he has stated multiple times he believes in the history of Jesus, but doesn't believe in what churches do. you should react to seasons, his mini docu series here on youtube. it gives you so much insight on his life.

A suicide note turned into song...true masterpiece..
Justin is a very religious guy so I also think he is talking about God. He goes to a very famous mega church and he went to Hillsong Church before their big scandal. His pastor, Judah Smith, is a very close friend and he even baptized Justin and his wife Hailey before he married them in 2018. Justin also shares his beliefs on Instagram constantly and attends big church conferences frequently (I’m talking about every Wednesday and Sunday).
Awesome, I like that. Many times, people have to hit bottom before realizing that they cannot do things on their own. It sounds like he hit that bottom. It seems like people would not want to hit bottom first, but people get complacent and just don't care until tragedy strikes. Great comment.
