I'm just going to be the one to bluntly say it......... usually when it comes to the concept of limiting spending and size of weddings, my usual response is "if someone has the money, let them enjoy themselves a bit and make a beautiful wedding". The natural reaction is "what is the line"......Ladies and gentlemen, we have found that line and crossed it by 100 miles!!! This kind of level of spending......FOR A SHEVA BRACHOS(!!!)......is unacceptable and frankly just disgusting! No level of tzedaka giving justifies this kind of sheva brachos. (Actually, if every hachnasas kallah and other tzedaka organization and mossad in the world was able to function year round without fundraising, then maybe) And, on top of all that, to go ahead and promote it and show it off? Makes it 10x worse! Shameful!
