You should have tried this in Brazil! Its the best place to compare Abs vs no Abs because you are almost always steering while braking there!
This is my first f1 game playing without abs and I love it, really feel the limits of the car

by outright pace alone, there is little difference and arguably quicker to not use ABS. The big differences however are 1) in the wet, abs has a huge advantage (would be good to see a comparison for this too), and 2) when racing with others - those with abs can dive and brake waaaay later without the risk of locking up. Having raced in both assist and no assist leagues, I really can tell a difference.
This game the car feels very floaty when trying to get back on the throttle. But car now feels much better in the slower corners.. currently a 1:18.280 on Melbourne so starting to get there
I’ve been using abs in driver career and in the Mclaren find it really difficult to recover ERS when braking! It’s so annoying lol but the benefits of abs are just something I got used to in 21 but I’m gonna get off the abs this season ;)
It sucks for a while when you're not used to it and locking up all the time. But you'll get used to it and man, is it more fun!
@@notna yoooo I’ve gained soooo much time! I play like 6 different sims so I’ve learned to trail brake on Acc and AMS so I was able to adjust my brake settings and I have some minor lock ups and micros but man the difference is insane! It’s like the game purposely slows you down a few tenths with abs or my trail braking with abs was messing it all up lol

@@BadWallaby Its kind of funny though. Because those assists in real life, TC and ABS, are massive improvements in lap time. The only thing that makes you slower is stability control, which completely negates your ability to rotate the car.

ABS might be an advantage when fighting someone going into a corner as it will allow you to brake later without being punished severely for locking up. But if you are braking too late into a corner alone, you're probably compromising your exit and ultimately losing time in the long run.
Sure, there will be people who can exploit the ABS mechanic to squeeze out extra time, but most guys will still be trying to brake way later than necessary and sacrifice their exit for the sake of braking 5m later or something.
Remember, slow in fast out. Fast in, fast out doesnt really work. You will always be compromising one for the other.
TL;DR Turn off assists, and learn proper racing principles if you want to be faster. ABS might help against slower drivers, but it is a crutch that won't really help if you are racing against guys who know proper driving/cornering techniques.
Abs is quicker.

I never even tried driving with ABS. Will there be a video of how much faster manual gear switching is compared to auto? That's the only assist I use, since I can't get it right yet.

Well I can’t say right now, I’m still in the process of getting abs, I’m trying to lower my body fat. I would imagine ill driver quicker because i will have less weight
I dont think its a matter of gaining time with abs on its a matter of LOSING TIME with abs off. For most drivers we have problems with locking up and losing time on the corners. ABS is a difficult assist to turn off when you’re just beginning F1.
i actually hate these new regulations JUST because its lockup prone
Can you publish a video about traction control? Which is faster? Because is really difficult to get a good traction in F1 22 and sometimes people get better exit even if they go a little bit wide.. I'm just curious to see how traction control works in this game.
I definitely didn't fully understand how to drive an f1 car until I turned off all assists. Once I turned off abs I realized that my problem all along was trying to turn into corners while still braking. I couldn't for the life of me understand how people didn't understeer through every corner like me. I can't believe I played these games for 2 years and didn't figure this out. Assists in this game completely mess up your understanding of what the car is supposed to be doing through the corners. If you're dumb like me, BRAKE IN A STRAIGHT LINE.
if you didn't mess up the chicane the difference would be around 0.1 but you were doing much better laps with abs because of track time .the gap must be very close

I feel with ABS ON it´s better to have a set of bias for each sector or depent of the curve. But you feel the difference between leaving the bias at 50% and chaging the bias between 50 to 53% depent of the courner. I have not try it with ABS off and change the bias. But with ABS on you get a better respond of the entry of each courner
it rly depends i’d say for me i go faster with abs cuz all the time even if i break as light as possible the front wheels lock up idk why
With abs is miles closer to realistic in the codemasters game than without it.
Not if you have a good set of load cell pedals. I have ABS off and I barely lock my brakes

In real life you aren’t even allowed to use abs, its an unfair advantage for the people who use abs. They have less tyre wear, brake later, more ers, so if you are good at the game someone with abs can just beat you which isn’t rewarding and unfair

@@exan2949 1 Corner is enough to prove if its faster or not, delta tells us everything. Its not about hitting every curb or acceleration point right, its only about breaking if he gains time there. So the laptimes are meaningless.
I honestly dislike when people use abs, defeats the purpose of racing F1. Learn to not use ABS
