Ingrid has to be the most underrated Capcom character IN EXISTENCE. She honestly deserves more respect from my POV: I mean, she's got one of the most broken move sets in Alpha 3 (how does her standing heavy kick COMBO INTO ITSELF?!), she has her fanbase (not pretty big, but it's decently sized), and there's more to her character that hasn't even been explored - the last of which is a similar case with Remy from Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. Heck, that last thing could even apply to her Dark Ingrid concept. There's just so many things Capcom can do with her, and - thanks to the new bosses at the helm - they can pretty much cut loose and do whatever they want with her in their franchises. But no, people have to hate her for the stupid reasons of a mistranslation in her Alpha 3 storyline AND for being quote-"an Athena ripoff"-unquote. Let me ask you Ingrid haters this: Does Athena draw her power from the sun? Does Athena have two friends who *_ACTUALLY EVEN TRY_* helping her protect the universe from threats all across it (and no - her team in King of Fighters does not count, that is a crossover game between all of SNK's franchises)? Does Athena even bother to go down to Earth to unleash her power against the forces of evil (again - King of Fighters DOES NOT COUNT)? If you answered "no" to all these questions, then looks like the joke's on you.
Love how the 2 last questions you made are wrong. Like, outside of her master, Kensou does help her save the world from an alien and monsters invasions in Psycho Soldiers and even in her Horror game. Also, it's biased to not count KOF even tho Ingrid related lore comes from Crossover games, Comics, and an non-canon story on SFA3. Like, you should count their versions of KOF because it's his own continuity, it just has other SNK series on it. Ingrid has to be the most underrated Capcom character IN EXISTENCE. She honestly deserves more respect from my POV: I mean, she's got one of the most broken move sets in Alpha 3 (how does her standing heavy kick COMBO INTO ITSELF?!), she has her fanbase (not pretty big, but it's decently sized), and there's more to her character that hasn't even been explored - the last of which is a similar case with Remy from Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. Heck, that last thing could even apply to her Dark Ingrid concept. There's just so many things Capcom can do with her, and - thanks to the new bosses at the helm - they can pretty much cut loose and do whatever they want with her in their franchises.
But no, people have to hate her for the stupid reasons of a mistranslation in her Alpha 3 storyline AND for being quote-"an Athena ripoff"-unquote. Let me ask you Ingrid haters this:
Does Athena draw her power from the sun?
Does Athena have two friends who *_ACTUALLY EVEN TRY_* helping her protect the universe from threats all across it (and no - her team in King of Fighters does not count, that is a crossover game between all of SNK's franchises)?
Does Athena even bother to go down to Earth to unleash her power against the forces of evil (again - King of Fighters DOES NOT COUNT)?
If you answered "no" to all these questions, then looks like the joke's on you.
That's because she's presented as a divine force beyond even op verses like devil may cry, onmusha and darkstalkers.
Love how the 2 last questions you made are wrong.
Like, outside of her master, Kensou does help her save the world from an alien and monsters invasions in Psycho Soldiers and even in her Horror game.
Also, it's biased to not count KOF even tho Ingrid related lore comes from Crossover games, Comics, and an non-canon story on SFA3. Like, you should count their versions of KOF because it's his own continuity, it just has other SNK series on it. (Also because you only have 3 games with Athena that each are an different person too)
Don't get me wrong, i like ingrid, and although it has clearly inspirations on Athena, it's not a bad thing since she's an tribute to SNK itself, but wish they sticked with her origins with the Code Holders from the Cancelled Capcom Fighting All-Stars instead of just making her a god of capcom and that's it.
It felt more unique to me
I'm not gonna lie, Ingrid is really cute in this game dialogue and even her voice too

Idk chief, i get why that you hate her but maybe because of your hate, it seems to me that you are at the point of obsessing over her and disregard any other opinions that surround her if it isn't about 'hating' her. Not everyone lives like you, not everyone agrees on the same opinions as you. Someone might like something you like, and someone might hate what you like. Thats how the world works. And if you can't see that, then i can't imagine the things you do to the people around you and what the people around you feel if they share different opinions to you that you disagree on irl.
