- You decided you want to be a urologist, now what?
I recently graduated from a Urology residency program and have had the opportunity of participating in the process of interviewing and ranking applicants during my residency.
In this video, I am going to go over 5 tips/ advice for medical students on how to become a competitive candidate when applying for Urology residencies.
Disclaimer: these are some of my personal opinions and not all programs might be looking for the same things
Thanks for the video albert!
Thanks Albert sir . Your vedio is so helpful .
Hi doc, thank you so much for this. I’m a Cameroonian medical graduate about to take the steps. Please can I reach out to you personally for mentorship ??
Dr Lee how can one reach you for mentorship? Have been trying to find your email address through your published articles but was unable to do so as I couldn't find a single corresponding author article..
Hi thank you for video. Can you recommend books for urology residency program ? Thanks.
For urology residents-
1- Hinman’s Atlas of Urologic Surgery will be a good source to look up the surgical steps of common urological procedures!
2- AUA core curriculum- highly recommend for a good summary of disease state/managements
3- Guidelines- AUA, NCCN etc! These will give you the most up to date standard of practice
4- Campbell’s- considered the Bible of urology. Can be dense but full of wisdom/clinical pearl
5- UA-cam/other video streaming service- picture worth a thousand words! Sometime if you never seen a particular surgery before, watching it on video could really augment your reading and understanding!
Obviously these are not meant to be all inclusive... but I think a good place to start!
@@coolallee thank you on reply and merry christmas ;)
