A Christmas Eve Box is given to Children or families , young and old, You can put a variety of things inside, The idea is to keep the children amused on Christmas eve, You can put puzzles, games, snacks, make up, crafts stickers, pencils inside. for adults you can put different games, bath and body items, face masks, pamper items, chocolate, sweets, dvds, cds . we always put a new pair of Pj's in our too to wear on Christmas eve. I hope this helps.
What a great idea, I think I might make them this year, our youngest daughter has just brought a house and moved in, so it would be perfect for them to start a tradition, I will do one for our eldest daughter for them, I’m sour our grandsons will love it. I just have to try and get the boxes here in Australia, hopefully someone has something similar. Thanks again for your great video. 👏🏻🙌🏻👏🏻🙂
For the family one i would put a variety of items, a movie, games, cards, paper games, pens, snacks, chocolate, candy, hot chocolate drinks. things to keep the family amused and doing things together as a family.
Becky you make everything you do look so easy, another fantastic idea, I have to keep going and getting supplies because I want to try it all, thanks for sharing 🙂 xx
This year will be year 7 of Christmas Eve boxes but last year bought crates from hobby craft and decorated similar to yours. Like you say takes a while but so worthwhile. Yours looks fantastic with the wood cut out
Beautiful Christmas Eve box I love it Becky . Think I may invest in one this year for the whole family instead of just my Granddaughter ! Looking forward to my ideas from you !
Thank you so much for creating and showing these fantastic Christmas crafts , it’s now motivates me to be a little more organised than usual . I just went to order a Wooden Plaque - could you confirm what size you used for the box Ty🎄🌟🎉
This is such a lovely box and fantastic idea, Becky! I never heard of a Christmas Eve Box. What type of things do you put inside? Perhaps I will start a new tradition in my family. So fun! We don't have a Hobby Craft here in the U.S. but we do have a Hobby Lobby that is basically the same type of store. It's one of my favs. So many things and choices. I think that reindeer heart would look perfect on your box. Great job! Becky, will your etsy shop be shipping to the U.S.? 💕🎄🎅💕
Hi granddaughters have theirs Christmas Eve morning, a game colouring book and crayons ( so they can amuse themselves while we prep for next day). reindeer food (to scatter outside for Santa’s reindeer) hot chocolate packet of hot chocolate, tiny marshmallows, and some snacks and a pair of Christmas Pyjamas to wear and a Christmas film. But you could put in what you want. Its a lovely tradition, we have elf on the shelf so we say it’s his good bye present to the children as he will go home with Santa that night till next December 1st. Hope this give you some ideas x If it’s for adults wine and chocolates, my teenage granddaughter I include a face mask, bath bomb and body moisturiser so she can pamper herself things 🎄
@@annijewiss3142 Oh how wonderful! I'm from the Long Island, New York in the U. S. and I never heard of this lovely tradition. We used to have the kids help bake cookies the night before and then at bedtime they would put on their new Christmas pajamas and we would either watch a Christmas movie or read a Christmas story. My kids are all grown but I have an 8 month old granddaughter that I would love to get started with one of these boxes. Thank you so much Anni for explaining this fantastic idea! 💕🎅🎄💕
Adrienne Burke Hi Adrienne it would be a lovely tradition to start as it will be your granddaughter first Christmas, you could put Christmas baby board books, first Christmas bib, and maybe a Christmas outfit, the possibilities are endless. We are very luck that our 12year old granddaughter Lilly has always been with us Christmas Eve during the day (before they passed away we would always go out for lunch with her and my parents) and we just carried on the tradition. Lilly always puts out our stockings one for me, one for grandad one for our cat Alfie and of course one for her leaves Santa’s food and drink out we go out and sprinkle reindeer food (I mix oats and edible glitter and crushed cornflakes together) on our drive and the road. Then she goes home and does the same there our favourite movies are Santa Clause The Movie or Polar Express, it’s so sad she’s now at high school and the doubts are settling in, which is difficult for her when she has a Fall and Christmas Mad Grandma like me 😂. Our sons two girls are 10 and 7 so still at that magical age. We spend Christmas Day with either our son and family then Boxing Day (not sure if you have that but the 26th Dec) with daughter her husband and Lilly and our son in laws elderly mother the next year we swap it. It’s so nice to chat to you, what do you do over the holiday do you get 25th and 26th as holiday ? and do you eat turkey for Christmas dinner as well as for Thanksgiving? Do you have Elf on the shelf I don’t know if it a 🇺🇸 or 🇬🇧 thing our girls love theirs he and she are so naughty and the children get so excited every morning in December to see what their elves are up to (We took all three girls to a holiday park to see Santa last year for two nights left the elves at home but some how next morning there they were both elves had followed us in a blow up plane 🤣🤣 I think I’m the bigger kid actually. Sorry if I’ve gone on a bit but I just get so excited, hope you have time to reply take care and stay safe xx
@@annijewiss3142 Oh Anni you sound like such a fun Grandma. I love to have fun and love to hear about all kibds if traditions. We don't have Boxing Day here in the U S. Some folks have big dinners on the 24th and 25th and open presents on Christmas Eve. My Italian friends cook up a feast on Christmas Eve. They call it the Feast of the 7 Fishes. They make 7 types of fish which can include, Baccala (salt cod), Baked cod, Clams Casino, Fried Calamari, Shrimp. Scallops, Lobster, Crab to name a few. They also serve pasta, veggies and all kinds of desserts. At Christmas they usually have Turkey and/or ham and Italian pasta dishes such as lasagne, veggies, etc. My daughtet-in-law is Greek, and I'm starting to learn all about their food and goodies too. My Mom always tried to expose us to all kinds of foods and traditions which I still find interesting, fun and yummy. In my family, Christmas Eve was always the day where we spent time cooking, baking and getting things ready for Christmas Day. Thanksgiving is a holiday for eating turkey with all the trimmings. At Christmas, some folks have turkey and some have ham or both. My family usually had a nice Ham as to have something different from Turkey. Yes, we do have Elf on the Shelf, and I must say, I have friends that get pretty creative. However, as much as I tried to make it fun, my kids were ways creeped out by that elf that was following and watching them around the house so I sadly packed him away. Maybe my grand daughter will enjoy him. My kids used to get a kick out of finding the glass Christmas pickle ornament. On the night before Christmas, the pickle would be tucked away in a secret place in the Christmas tree. On Christmas morning when you arise, the first one to find it gets a surprise or a good fortune for the flowing year.I believe this is a German tradition. My grand daughter was born on Dec. 4th so this year will actually be her 2nd Christmas. There's always some many fun things I can find to put in a Christmas box. I just love the Holiday's and always enjoy making them fun. I just wish this virus epidemic would disappear. It's going to be hard this year to get together and be inside. My son and daughter in law are frontline nurses and my daughter and her husband have management positions who have been working all through this crisis. Me and the other Grandma who I am very close to, have some compromising conditions and the kids and us are being very cautious about being around eachother. The summer was fine, for we were able to sit in the backyard wearing masks and distancing with hand sanitizers all over the place. But it gets way too cold here in New York to do that in the wintertime. Such sad times but keeping the Faith. It has been a pleasure chatting and letting with you. Stay well and stay safe and enjoy the holiday's to come! 💕🎄🎅💕
yes, this is for a family, the individual ones i would put, phoebes Christmas Eve box, or something like that, for the family one i would put a variety of items, a movie, games, cards, paper games, pens, snacks, chocolate, candy, hot chocolate drinks. things to keep the family amused and doing things together as a family.

I asked before but maybe I'm doing it wrong. Do you sand the box before priming?
Hi Sandra, I don't prime the boxes but i do give them a little sanding down. You can also sand lightly between coats of red paint.
WoodPrix includes very useful instructions with all details I need
