Great video. I used to travel in these to and from London, and always loved that big grunt of power from the engines. In those days they would be doubled up to form a 12 car train. Very nice ride, but they would rock and roll a bit past Knockholt and Dunton Green on the fast downhill to Tonbridge.
I know it's a very long way off today, but, oh won't it be good to see this set comprised purely of "Hastings" restriction C0 stock including First and Buffet vehicles. The two ex-CEP C1 coaches are fantastically turned out but spoil the overall effect.
1007 and 1017 of these class 201 stock were involved in the Hither Green Disaster of 5/11/1967. I understand that 1007 afterwards formed a 5 car formation .
Excellent Green Dragon video! A must-see. Two Thumpers up!!
Thumpers took me on my childhood holidays in the late 1950's...happiest of days!....long live Thumpers!

Remember 1001 from when I was 11 in '67 and trainspotting at Ore station Sussex , glad to see the old gal is still looking and sounding good :o)
Full marks for a really wonderful video!
That was a cracking video of one of my favourite trains so thanks for sharing. ..........Graham
