I really like your play through. And I'm thankful that you cut out all of the walking around, because although its exciting to explore when you play, it is not as much fun when you have to watch it excessively.
Sorry I never replied Monkey, I responded to others but yeah this series is no longer continued, didn't perform well :/ Also, I never did Fallout 4, either on stream or videos :P I have played it personally when it came out, but never started any video series for it just fyi!
@@WhatDarrenPlays No worries, I thought it might be the case if it didn't get the views. You're right of course, it wasn't Fallout 4 but rather that audio logs series for each vault I was thinking of. Might have been in the build up to FO4, back in your voice over stage 😉
I don't see why anyone would want to watch a video like this, to be honest. The game is actually pretty amazing if you think about it, all the freedom, the many things you can do like ship building and variety of cool weapons for combat, the 250,000 lines of dialog and all the interesting things that happen with people wherever you go, etc. But guys like this don't care about the games they're playing at all. They're just hoping to make money on UA-cam views. This guy makes that clear ("didn't perform well"). It is easy to see his negative attitude going into it in his little comments, saying things like "Thanks for nothing" and "Didn't even say goodbye" to trivial character interactions (which, by the way, actually lead to helpful things like that great minigun he found). When he gets a new space ship by boarding it after combat, something you can't do in any other game I know of except X4, and is done in a very fun way in this game, first the game tries to help him learn a useful tactic in ship combat (disabling enemy ships' engines to take the ship over instead of destroying it), and he can't be bothered because he doesn't really care about space ship combat or the game. So after it disables the ship for him anyway this time so he can continue in the the plot, and he gets this interesting new space ship (what a great thing for a SF fan!), he doesn't bother to see what the inside of it is like, or how different it is from his first one, or what its new weapon types he noticed do (by the way, they are EM, electromagnetic, good for disabling ships so you can take them over and add them to your fleet, and PAR, particle beams, the best ship weapon in the game). I rarely watch videos like this because it's more fun to simply play the game myself, but when I do, it's no fun unless they're playing the game because they like it.
@@TB-wvvvw The guy is making a living and can't play games that perform badly on his channel, there is nothing wrong with that. I get you like the game but generally the game is quite dull to watch and even bigger channels like MATN, has had significant drop off in views for Starfield.
@@TB-wvvvwYou sound like an advertiser with that "250,000 lines of dialogue" line. Many people dislike the game. If player retention dropped, it makes sense that viewer retention would. Maybe if the things you mentioned weren't surface level, let's plays would be more varied and interesting. Most people don't have interest in seeing how anyone reacts to procedurally generated ship interiors for example, especially after the 5th time, let alone 100th.
Nice episode Darren! Can't wait for the next episode. How many mods do you have right now? I notice you change the controller button to PS. Have you tried the inventory management mod?
I learned yesterday from another UA-cam channel that you can land anywhere on the planet that is not liquid. Your not limited to specific locations on the planet. Expect gas planet’s.
There are reasons to land on places on planets that aren't marked from orbit, and because of the way they put content in your path wherever you go dynamically, no matter where you land there is a pretty good chance to find fun things like quests or big battles with unique weapon rewards if you explore on foot for awhile and go where your scanner shows there might be something interesting. Your scanning can be upgraded to help a bit. I went to a remote planet that looked pretty desolate from orbit with maybe nothing there, except it had a certain mineral I wanted for building, and after landing and walking a bit to collect my ore, I found a big battle at some kind of huge multi-floor mineral processing factory taken over by bad guys and their robots. I got a very powerful shotgun at that place that one hits nearly anything, way better than any other I had seen. There is a way I saw on a video by a guy who plays a lot to land at the border of different biomes where more types of minerals are more likely, which is good for making outposts with factories. You would also have to land somewhere in the different biomes to 100% scan everything on a planet if that's what you like to do. The guy in this video did quite a bit of scanning. I personally find that part of the game one of the least fun or interesting parts, so I don't spend much time on it; I usually just do some scanning on the way to a site of some kind that I detected with my scanner and am going to. But no matter how remote, you can find exciting battles with piles of loot out there.
Not sold on buying this for myself yet. Few shortcomings me thinks. This episode a few things that broke my immersion - Not being able to shoot between rungs on the ladder. NPC's hiding behind the ladder even though you could clearly see / shoot them. The Medic interaction being really bland and the chat being meh. Oh also the fan, I find not many of the characters are very endearing. :( But really enjoying seeing you play and showing it off.
You'll get a better idea of what a game is like if you watch someone who actually likes the game and has some enthusiasm for playing it, no matter which game it is.
Don’t like it 😂 Played 35hrs around early access, played solo and mp. I’m not a stats guy, not a fan of dice rolls, ui all over the screen and I dont really like fantasy games. I prefer historical or sci fi generally. I think its a high quality game but just not for me.

Has this series gone the way of your Fallout 4 play through?
Views seem a little low compared to the other games on the channel.

Darren, why not try Baldur's Gate 3, seems like a PERFECT game for you and your style of play.

Yeah I regret getting the adoring fan option, I feel like anything else would be better after the initial laugh
so is this dead now?
Oh look, an ecosystem....let's interfere. Usually works out well ;)
Satisfactory
Working on it! Will be a little while though still. But once its back itll be very regular.
