REFRACTION is a zero budget dance short film that was created in the early months of 2019 by Luke Rainford and Alexander Love. Filmed near a small Nottinghamshire river, inspired by both the song River by Ibeyi alongside visual animations - the combination of the music and visual effects brought together a fusion of excellence.
Exploring the cross over between technology and nature,
REFRACTION looks at the creation and destruction of shapes within landscapes and the body - it teases at the development of freedom within the body; an idea continually developing over time. We hope you were inspired.

Part of the national youth dance festival, U.Dance 2019, these films were screened at BFI Southbank on July 21, 2019. Following a call-out, One Dance UK and a panel of industry professionals selected 13 diverse films, showcasing young dancers/choreographers/filmmakers for U.Dance on Screen 2019.
