Very informative, thank you for posting this, it answered a number of questions. My personal takeaway is, I need assistance with the process because it is complicated.
Example if u get a job in uae , Dubai and they salary is tax free and u earn example 21000 Dirham do you have to pay tax to South Africa and how much tax
Good evening, I’m working abroad on a rotation basis (permanent employment contract). As it stands I have spend EXACTLY 183 full days outside of SA (travel days excluded), and in my case 70 of those days were continues and unbroken. Will the 183 days I currently have be sufficient or do I need to spend MORE than 183 days outside of SA for my foreign income to be exempt from tax up to 1.25 million. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much. I have learnt a lot from this. I wanted to relocate and renounce my citizenship before of this tax. Not i will relocate and keep my passport.
If you become a non resident tax payer and you have left one of your assets i.e a vehicle registered in your name with a family member. Will sars take ownership of the vehicle?
Good day, would I qualify for tax relief when exceeding R1.25m trashold when I am a direct payer on -Medical aid -Retirement Annuities and would any salary earned during that financial period be taken into account even when paid into a Forex/Global account where the salary remains in USD currency? -I currently earn salary abroad, -I am still a Tax resident -I am not sure if the employer pays tax in the country of work My rotation is 9-to-10 weeks in the foreign country and 3 weeks leave to stay in SA.
Great video, extremely informative 👍🏽
Glad it was helpful!

Shakira is not the only person who seems to be in trouble because of tax residency and residency issues as an expat
