I love that dial the contours and colourway is awesome. Good that you are honest at all times about it being a freebie. The Canteen is a bit cumbersome and I agree it could be done without. However it's a homage to an early diver. Loose the beads of rice bracelet and replace it with a divers band. Great review as always.
Thanks! One thing I usually don't point out is that it's never a requirement to keep something. In fact I never even ask too, it's up to the brand if they want it back.
I'm sure there are a few collectors who would like this in their collection. I have to agree with your take on the watch. Did you speed up segments of the video? That second hand sweep looked really nice.
I purchased a Rec Spec two weeks ago and needed to return it. It was THE worst experience I've had with any micro brand. Multiple emails back and forth just to get a return label and didn't get it until I threatened to put out negative reviews on all platforms. They were HORRIBLE to deal with. I will never buy from them again, which is a shame because I wanted to return so that I could buy more expensive models, and more of them. Real shame.
IF anyone cares about where its made and what movement its inside, sure, maybe it makes sense. But for someone looking for this type of watch, Thorn are making a 36mm version (with an aged steel option that is awesome) for 120 bucks.. All i ve seen from Praesidus are very expensive homages that dont really warrant the price. And whats with that dial? why would such a dial be put on a mil watch?! Its a pass from me!
@@RelativeTimeWell, I've noticed that you wear your watches almost an inch away from your actual wrist so this crown is not much of a problem. I wear mine all the way down.
@@An_inquisitive_thinker it depends, but usually they wind up there. So yeah, ymmv on the crown being a problem. My wrist also swells in the heat and humidity, so I always wear mine a bit loose too.
@@MrPINKFL0YD I was thinking more in terms of wrist size and hand size. Same ymmv goes for the hair ripper comment. Just because it does it on one person, doesn't mean it will on everyone.
Invicta has done this trope to death. Not that it's a bad thing. U.S. made is a plus to a lot of us. However at this price I think they are over shooting it value by a "C" note. As always that's just me.
Has Invicta done a lot of these? I remember seeing a few with the crown, but I don't remember the rest of the watch. Honestly, I don't pay much attention to them these days.
@@RelativeTime They were a couple years back. Big ugly bastards some even came with the face protector grid. Monsters made for those central and eastern european types in mind.
I feel Praesidus leans really heavy on the heritage of their watches hoping that will sell more than the actual watch is worth... I was thinking of getting the desert field... but i just couldnt bring myself to pay 200 USD for a watch with vh1 quartz... their watches are "nice", but meh... not for me, not at that price anyway....
I like the orignial canteen, but this feels like a poor render, blocky, bezel is too thick, and that crown chain drives me mad, and the lugs and endlinks are too long Cool concept, just not sold on the execution
Is this the 3rd or 4th time that's all you've said. No other comment on the watch itself? Do you disagree with anything I've said, or do you like this one? That said, it's not exactly Chinese. Or at least not full Chinese. Swiss movement and US assembly. So if you really want to be a troll, at least get your facts straight.
The dial is absolutely gorgeous 🤩
BTW congrats on reaching 50k milestone...very well deserved
Thank you very much!

They should sell it on that blue strap, that really looked good. Great photography 👍
I've been tempted by the black-dial version.👌

A couple of clips are speed up, but none of the closeups of the watch. Mostly the spinning around on the turn table shots.
I think it’s cool, but it’s not quite my style, and I agree with you on the movement. Thanks for the great and honest review!

Also, would be really tempted at its attractive £555 price - but I cannot justify it as it looks too close to my Hamilton Khaki Field King watch.
⌚⌚ 🤔

Cool dial. Did soldiers not need date displays?
Good question. I'm guessing it's more of a government cost saving thing when they were mass producing them for the troops.
I like its overall looks but it's either a righthand option of wear or that crown will be constantly digging into your wrist. 🤔
It wasn't too bad. At least I never noticed it while wearing it with my 7.25" wrist. If it was a larger watch, it might be a different story.

Depending on if you wear it in the correct place, of course

is the dial misaligned to the right, or is the way the camera is capturing? Nice dial, but dont get the stupid strap and how small it is.
I think its just the camera angle and crystal distortion, but I'll double check

Hard, hard pass.
Nice review though.
There's no "i" between the d and u in Praesidus. You are mispronouncing the name of this ugly watch. I can't imagine wearing it in public.
Didn't sound like I was putting an i in there. At least not the first time I said it. Might have said it differently later.
He's added a few extra syllables in the name each time. Cracks me up. Pray-si-dus.
