There's actually all kinds of different types of "assistants". There's office assistants, planning assistant, makeup assistant, hair assistant, etc. If Tana lied to her at first and told her she would only be answering phone calls etc then that's fucked up. But as far as the word "assistant" there's so many different types of duties people can do. As long as the person tells you what you're going to be doing and you're okay with it.
I mean the main fact is that you literally have screenshots from all of this. I have a caregiver, and the job description rarely mentions things that are generally under her pervue, things that are "Common Sense" A LOT of assistants do household jobs as well as picking up dry cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. Mine also drives me to appts, and if I need to run errands. For the most part, Alyssa did what she was hired to do, and it sounds like she also offered extra stuff too, which I think is awesome. But, I gotta say Alyssa did screw up the laundry. It IS ABSOLUTELY common sense that you dont put anything with color in with whites. Light colors in warm, whites in hot and darks cold. Id be pretty frustrated if I came home to my laundry being done the way Alyssa did. When the colors bleed, they can and often DO ruin clothes. Which is why they need to be separated.

laundry takes more than 20 minutes... usually a wash is 60 minutes plus a drying cycle of minimum 45. Thats one load. Sometimes the cycle takes longer depending on what youre washing plus sorting, folding and hanging. Clearly you've never done laundry properly before haha

When I was a personal asst I charged 45 dollars an hour. Yes, I would hand wash clothes, separate by color, bring dry clean to the dry cleaners. And I did clean for them, but would generally charge a flat 140 every time for cleaning depending. Most cleaners here charge 150-200or so for a 3bedroom. Tana barely paid min wage and wanted 300 dollar an hour service. She was mean and rude and I feel terrible for Allyssa that she was manipulated by Tana, and her “fame”. And charging her for taking a photo, gtfo Tana.

My mom cleans a family friend’s house 2 story for $200 per day. Even though she goes once a week, if my mom is asked to go again she will pay her the same amount. Kalee Organ we don’t know what boundaries were and weren’t set up and she did tell her she would be doing some cleaning. If she wanted to only run errands and babysit the dog then she should have laid that out in the beginning or set boundaries when Tana asked the first time. That is how this kind of employment works. Your job is whatever you agree for it to be when you decide what your duties will be. Different employers want different things out of their assistants and the assistant has the right to agree and disagree with things they are comfortable with doing when setting up or when new tasks come up.
sometimes personal assistants do end up doing some cleaning and housework. its not all about emails, bookings, schedules, etc. Thats why its very hard to be a personal assistant. theres office assistants at companies, those are the ones that stick to office help and the occasional picking up items and food. its still very difficult. A lot of celebrity PAs do talk about how theyre made to do every little thing, even cook for their employers. I think this is what Tana wanted to do, have someone help her as if she was a celebrity.

There's actually a couple of problems with this. I would advise her to sue for wages lost, but the time spent plud money spent on court costs may not be worth it, especially if she was a 1099 employee (self-employed/self-reporting on taxes) and did not report her wages accurately or at all.
Also, another person mentioned that maid costs are $100+ per session, and that is the average cost in North America for about 8 hrs of work. That comes out to being around $10.50 an hour, but at one point she claimed she was being paid $50 a day. That's just not reasonable for the tasks she was being asked to do.
She was a P.A. which unfortunately is an umbrella term these days for being a celebrities' personal chore/uber/postmates bitch, so unless there was an actual contract made between them which stated what her exact duties were where both parties agreed for her to do said tasks (like laundry), then Tana can ask her to do whatever she'd like.
My advice to both parties:
1) Don't do business with friends or family
2) Sign a contract, or both parties will 100% feel taken advantage of because there are no set rules or instructions and unfortunately humans are not yet advanced enough to be mindreaders and therefore can not anticipate another's needs.

ehhh that is like the one point I would have to agree with Tana. It is common sense. Usually you wouldn't think you would need to tell a 19yr old how to do washing (but maybe these girls are just lazy and not used to doing it, I dont know?). And especially since she was paying her for it, well I would expect her to take more care with her tasks. Also I would have taken some of it out of her paycheck, or if I was alyssa, I would of told tana I would work some hours for free to cover some of the costs. But both these girls seem selfish to be honest.

witchchild I can assure you I never have separated colors my whole life of doing laundry and I've never had an issue. If Tana wanted it done a specific way she needs to learn to communicate that instead of getting mad at her for not doing what she didn't specify. You can't blame someone when there was no communication on your end.

It takes me an hour and a half at most, maybe more. Depends on how many loads I have to do.
