The best part about this is that it actually feels like you're about to start a WWF Event! This song and background intro has so much nostalgia for me, and makes me feel young again when we had those eye gouging royal rumbles every Saturday night in the game lol
It's the WWF Royal Rumble featuring: Macho Man Randy Savage Mr Perfect The Undertaker Bret the Hitman Hart Tatanka Crush The Nature Boy Ric Flair The Heartbreak kid Shawn Michaels Razor Ramon Yokozuna The Narcissist Lex Luger The million dollar man Ted DiBiase
I grew up with the SNES version which instead has Mr. Perfect, Tatanka, Ric Flair, Yokozuna and Ted DiBiase. In later years though I did check out the Genesis version and now really enjoy both. Not sure which roster I’d call superior, it depends on your mood. If you want more great wrestlers like Perfect, Flair and DiBiase the SNES is the one to play. If you want to have more colorful characters like Hogan, The Model, Papa Shango then Genesis fulfills that more. Too bad Hogan isn’t in both, but I think the SNES one began development sooner, while he was gone for a year and his WWF future was questionable, while with Sega they had time after his 93 return to add him. The roster difference I really don’t get is DiBiase and IRS being exclusives on separate versions, so you can’t team up Money Inc on either.
I like how the title screen in the SNES version features a cool mode 7 effect of the pictures of the wrestlers as the most cheesy stock SNES sound engine rock music blares.
@Cameron_611 I disagree, the sound chip for Sega Genesis was garbage. It had this weird, high-pitched tinney sound in music on Sega. Very unappealing to my ears. Also, almost every game system's version of a game has some sort of exclusive to their version of the game.

Classic 90s era
Childhood memories
That crowd shot in the background is from WrestleMania VI at the Toronto SkyDome.
Yeah I just found this out, can't believe I've played this game for 30 years and didn't realise till yesterday that the shot is from my hometown lol
Gotta love the pictures popping up one by one. All that’s missing is Vince yelling their names.

This music pumps me up
Tony Chimel would later graduate from grunts and groans to ring announcer. And Mike Chioda would get him to be a referee for well over twenty years
Nice Video! even though i grew up with the Sega Genesis Version which has Hulk Hogan, IRS, Jim Duggan, Rick Martel, and Papa Shango.

@@kefkarothsephka7708 Yep and even then, no tag team mode 🤦♂️
Ah man. I searched this for the nostalgia but it sucks that 5 of these guys have already passed away.
Anyway, was a great game back in the day.

I have this Game on my Phone, So Badass🎊🎊🎊
The Road to WrestleMania begins here!!
Where was Hulk Hogan not on Super Nintendo on Sega Genesis royal rumble pretty sad to see Nintendo not have Hulk Hogan
Unfortunately Hulk was an exclusive on the Sega version
@@koryandrews1665 Another reason why Sega and PlayStation was better than Nintendo when it came to wrestling games.
