  • Working on the wing tips this time for our home built Sling TSi. We do a little fiberglass work, some drilling, countersinking and back to the rivet washers. We also reveal two secrets that are going in with the wing tip mount.
    Some additional notes -
The wing tip slips in to the wing 20mm. This means it touches the rib flange but does not overlap it inside the wing.
The wing tip lines up with a notch as shown at the trailing edge.
While I use rivet washers, some builders prefer to use a strip of aluminum along the inside of the wing tip to provide stability. Either way, what you're doing is providing strength for the rivet to grip and material to counteract the weakened structure due to the required countersink work.
This is an experimental aircraft and how I choose to build it.
