This was super useful, exactly what I was looking for! I was doing this on an old Amazon Fire Tablet, that I predominately use as a Home Assistant dashboard, but I've often wanted to occassionally cast to it. I had tried some other 'casting' apps, but AirScreen was the first one that actually worked. I did have some weirdness specifically casting youtube, and I think it was because I had the UA-cam app on the tablet itself. When I removed that, it worked. Casting any other castable media worked no problem too. This also makes the tablet appear as an 'Apple TV' in Home Assistant integration, so you can use that in automations. I did have to do a bit of tinkering with the Kiosk app to prevent it turning the screen off while casting, but I solved that with HA automations tied into that integration.
@@MKSmartHouse can you also show how to keep the device from going to sleep? I am interested in getting this lux mount and device but I like how my apple ipad never goes to sleep!
I have the Apple TV app on my iPhone and every time I go to cast my content from my AppleTV app to my android tablet it says error this is this video is in a format that is unsupported how do you change that
By the way I like your video, also I have a question, Is there a way to use a tablet instead of your phone for example I get in to my vehicle and I want to put down my smartphone and use my tablet as I would my phone including making phone calls and WhatsApp, text messages and whatever else would be possible? Tysm, I would appreciate it if you can find out for me,.
So it works through wi-fi, not bluetooth? Then if you have one Google account on your stolen device and another Google account on your phone, you're Kucfed.
