That’s amazing Dave. I’m the British guy in the long-sleeve yellow jersey and blue shorts. Remember chatting to you at first stoppage. And it was my brother, Adam, you rode in the headwind section with (I dropped back as I was dying). Great to re-watch the event. Hopefully see you at the Contador in Sept.
Nice one mate, great to reconnect 👍... it was a mint day on the bike ( except that brutal section on the Bernia 😆 ) .. I'm doing the Altea event this weekend, organised by the same team. Should be good 😎
Cracking video again Dave. When I’m riding my first sportive of the year tomorrow in the rain I’ll try to pretend I’m in Spain instead of Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire 😂😂
Marchas in Spain are different to Gran Fondos they are not designed to be races. Quite often they have pace cars controlling the race. It’s usual to have points where the event regroups
Yeah i get it mate. Some do, some don't... They just seemed to make it up as they went along on the day. The "winners podium" and live timing element, suggested this was in essence being ran as a competitive event... Still a great day on the bike and a fantastic route, just a little confusing at the time...👍 Thanks for watching 😊👍
@@daveridesagain some of the ones I have done the climbs were timed and the re grouping was at the top. It seems a little odd that you were stopped half way up a climb which does seem rather random. Two good gran Fondos are Alberto Contador in September and Moratalla in May.
Yep.. I'm back home in Durham for a week mate, seriously DO NOT fancy riding tomorrow... Sundays looking marginally better at a spring like SIX degrees 🤣..... I sense a couple of rides on the indoor trainer incoming... Thanks for watching 👍
Hey Dave, that kit is looking sharp on you 👌 another banger. Did they ever explain why they were stopping the sportive? Seems a bit mad to do it 3 times
@LeeWright no nothing mate... I didn't even appear on the shonky "results" sheet at the end for some reason 🤷♂️.... and to add to the absolute shambles the guy who "won" ( and infact the top 10 ) rode on through the 1st police stop and then the subsequent ones and had a finishing time reflecting they weren't stopped 3 times, so it reads as if they "won" by an hour or something 🤣.... they had the podium presentations done before the riders who'd had to stop ( the full field bar the 10 rogues ) even rolled in 🤣... But this wasn't a race... 🤣🤣🤣. It was definitely bizzare, but still a great day on bike 😎
@@daveridesagain that just sounds like a full on shambles. Still, as you say a good day out on the bike in the sun. My zone 2 rides in the miserable rain and wind this week pale in comparison!
Mamil on a MISSION! What a ride Dave, love it.
Thanks Dan 👊
The climb towards Benissa looks nearly as good as the loops yesterday in 1 degree and raining, flying!
Nothing compares to yesterday's loops mate.... 🤣🤣🤣.

Haha, good luck tomorrow mate, hope it goes well.
Thanks for watching and the support 👊
My fave clip was on the climb & your rear camera shows you gradually dropping the guy behind 😆
Haha, yeah that was mine too... almost made up for all the ones where I was on the receiving end... 😆
Some great shots, especially the rear facing camera on the descents.
Chapeau 👏👏
Cheers mate 👊
Best vid yet Dave, but watching most of your vids gets me gagging for winter to be over now!
Thanks mate. Weather at home is a joke 😩... few weeks hopefully 😎
Great video again Dave. That freewheeling at the end while talking hurting my ears 😂
Love the channel though , keep them coming!
Haha, hadn't even noticed the freehub noise, but its definitely one of them you cant unhear once you hear it 🤣
Thanks for watching and the support 👊
Well done Dave! what a epic ride! and great footage chapeau!!
Thanks man 👊
Cracking video Dave and some awesome action shots. Of course you were racing 😂 shame about the rolling closures 👍
Thanks mate. Was a great ride despite the stops..... 😎👊
Epic ride Dave , loving the channel
Thank you mate 🙌
Brilliant vid Dave .. they are never not a race 😂. It’s an unofficial race defo 👍👌
For sure mate 👊

@drummerman122 thanks, I'll check those out 👍
Meanwhile, still absolute utter gash up in the North Pennines.
Serious warm & dry weather envy . . . .

Exactly like the Col de Lumley😂
Haha.... Similar 😎
You have to put your strava link on
It's in the description I think mate...
@@daveridesagain got it 👍
