Where were you three years ago when a colony of bugs took up residence in my hose and mouthpiece? Huh? I ended up trying to clean them with bleach and replacing the hose with off-the-shelf tubing from Bunnings and it didn’t end well. As always, your approach is much more sensible and sustainable and I am most grateful for your wisdom. Great work Hayley! 😀
@@settohike Fortunately the bugs have been sent packing and I had no explosions from my chest. But while they were there, I would get a mild abdominal discomfort/gastritis after sipping water. It never progressed to anything further but was enough for me to look more closely and go the full decontamination. Nasty!

LOL @ "sippy sack". A question: Acknowledging that "don't do it" is the recommended course of action, is there a way to clean and make safe a bladder or soft bottle that has been used for unsafe water? Also, the whisk suggestion is brilliant!

Hi Hayley. Quality is definitely the top tip. I bought cheap, and the hose snapped off the bladder after 2 days.
