Thanks for sharing the same sense of humour 😛 I was getting a bit restless editing my 'calming soothing' voice all the time so trying to bring in a bit more energy! :)
@@settohike I’ve been watching your sense of humour coming through more and more from your early videos and it’s great. Just wanted to give you feedback as often you don’t get it on the internet, just negativity. So thanks for everything you do 😊
Bought a Water Bladder for my hikes and was stumped about cleaning it. Happened to be the first video I found and not only was it inviting, informative and easy to follow it was entertaining so thank you! Subscribed for more but, this is going on my watch later as well.😊😊
Where were you three years ago when a colony of bugs took up residence in my hose and mouthpiece? Huh? I ended up trying to clean them with bleach and replacing the hose with off-the-shelf tubing from Bunnings and it didn’t end well. As always, your approach is much more sensible and sustainable and I am most grateful for your wisdom. Great work Hayley! 😀
@@settohike Fortunately the bugs have been sent packing and I had no explosions from my chest. But while they were there, I would get a mild abdominal discomfort/gastritis after sipping water. It never progressed to anything further but was enough for me to look more closely and go the full decontamination. Nasty!
She rinsed and rinsed until the rivers ran dry ! 🤣🤣🤣 Love it. Another goodie Hayley. Well Done. Keep on mixing the informative with the downright crazy. Go you. GH
LOL @ "sippy sack". A question: Acknowledging that "don't do it" is the recommended course of action, is there a way to clean and make safe a bladder or soft bottle that has been used for unsafe water? Also, the whisk suggestion is brilliant!
Yes!!!! I'm not crazy for hanging it up on the clothes line with paper towel stuffed inside....... Or, there are more crazy people than me. The power of orange Berocca has long ago banished the taste of plastic in my Kathmandu bladder.
Thanks for this! Literally had to clean my 'gulp gear' today and your video release was perfectly timed. Also I got my hike scratch poster yesterday yay #94! (I thought it was a massive toblerone lol), keen to scratch of Heysen Trail when I eventually finish the 1200kms 😂 Love the videos and comedy!
After having about 3 bladders in a row that leaked and left a wet puddle in my pack, I've decided its easier to use water bottles. I love the whisk part- I thought I was the only one to use a whisk to keep it open to dry!! But clearly a few people are doing it
Serious Hayley strikes again!! 🤭 Very nice alternate names though 😂Got some great tips Hayley, especially the lemon one. I'd rather be tasting a hint of lemon than a mouthful of chemicals that's for sure! 😎
Absolutely loving the sense of humour you’re bringing to your videos! Keep em coming

@@mikefuery7714 This sounds like a horror film. The Bugs Return. I hope you haven’t had any more invasions since. 😛

Milton fluid also works, the stuff to sterilise babies…bottles etc. But don’t leave in the baby overnight.
You did it again,u have me crackn up n picking up some great tips..Thanks
Hilarious and informative!

Haha just starting to include my personality a bit more into these kinds of videos, glad you are on board 🤣
“We’re done that part now, you can stop talking” 😂😂😂😂
I thought I was the only person alive to use a whisk to help dry it out. Thanks !
You are a wonderful informative and entertaining UA-camr presenter. Great work. Thanks.
my favourite term for the bladder has been 'suckle sack'. Love the tips, especially the lemons!!
Love the humour additions. Keep it up!
These are things I needed to learn Hayley! I’m going to try the lemons
May the lemons serve you well! 🤞🤞🍋
Aww yea, your channel gonna do well, love the momentum

That would probably clean the bladder as well. 2 for 1🤣

I’m gonna call it a sippy-sack from now on 😂😂😂

Sounds like water bladders were out to get you from day 1! Team whisk represent 😛
Hi Hayley. Quality is definitely the top tip. I bought cheap, and the hose snapped off the bladder after 2 days.
Great video. Cheers from Derbyshire.
Did you get into the Guinness Book of World Records for that? 2 days sounds like a record! 😂
@@settohike I know. It was 8 quid. Learned my lesson.
lol mine usually sits for months with water still in it. I usually just dump and refill. Never have I cleaned it 😂
like your vids very much 👍👍👍
plastic water bladders are 😱👾
Wash?
Had mine for years and never cleaned it out, just water and when i close it off I take the air out...
😁thank you
No, thank you! 😀
I thought I was the only one putting a whisk up the bladder's clacker.
@@sharonlivingstone5956 haha that or the potato masher

Can’t catch a break with her 😛 I wonder if people hike with a wedge of lemon in their bladder, might not be too bad of an idea 😛
i’ve been wondering how to get rid of that plastic taste for a long time 😂
Last resort: The Car Wash 🧽😛
I'm starting to think a bladder isn't the best solution. But thxxxx
haha :) and practical!
clear goon bag
Plastic taste, micro plastics? personally i would bin it.
