anyone else here because of whiskey, America, guns, beards, bikini snaps, and rangers? Edit: I left this comment when I was 14 lmao and the fact this is still getting interactions 8 years later always makes me smile. I’m 22 with a baby boy now and looking back to when I posted this is very surreal to me, I thank all you hard motherfuckers who replied and liked this comment that gets me nostalgic almost instantly. Thanks to Matt B for introducing me to ATR as well lol!
true but we can carry thier honor like how im going to join the warden service and make my grandpa joe proud he was in the airforce and ill join the maine warden service and make him proud
Lyset Allied victory in both the Pacific and Europe. It’s sad that most of those fighting for the Nazis were young men most likely being forced to fight. I respect Japans reason to start a war because we did cut off there oil but that’s besides the point. God put the will in the young men and women of the US, England, and the Soviet Union, to fight, defeat the Nazi Reich, and liberate Europe.
@@tennesseecurtiss5741 it was our pleasure to rid the world of one fascist dictator and his supremecist regime, as well as free the decent ppl enslaved by them.
Just stopped by to say that my 95 year old WWII veteran grandfather is very close to going home for good. He was on a Destroyer during WWII in the Pacific theater. My other grandfather, God rest his soul, was the belly turret gunner on a B-17 flying out of north Africa to bomb Axis forces in Italy and Greece. He completed a full 50 missions and suffered from massive PTSD. These men answered the call to defeat evil and did their duty in an exemplary fashion. They are dying away at an increasing rate, and pretty soon, direct memories of WWII will no longer be available and all we'll have are the history books. As a veteran myself, I salute my fellow vets and ESPECIALLY those of the greatest generation that had a warrior spirit that we should all attempt to emulate.
lets not forget that the greatest ones retired by building a spaceship with technology never seen before, materials invented for the purpose, with tools never imagined in the past, broke every single record possible and made it to the moon, in the face of the liberals who now struggle to identify with their genitalia
This morning at 4:45am, my grandfather was called home for good. It was terrific talking with him for hours and hours about his experiences both during WWII and afterwards. Rest easy.
that is correct sadly i cant enlist since im autistic but ill join the maine warden service and become a game warden to make my grandpa joe who served in the air force and make him proud
I thought at first MBest11x picked this song just because it sounds cool and manly, but then I read the lyrics, and realized how fitting it is for who they are, who we are, and what their message is...
I salute that warrior. And I salute you on this memorial day weekend. Battlefield is the ultimate test of brotherhood and those born of those that bled on the battlefield, may we rejoice to remember the fallen.
Great song, it's nice to see someone like Phil cares. Usually people of today are ungrateful and take everything for granted. We need to be more appreciative of the technology that we have today, of everything we have today really.
When I first listened to it, chills went up my spine. Salute to the WW2 Vets who made this country what it was and most likely never will be again... I'm glad to see there are some of us who can appreciate that.
Yes! My neighbor is a WW2 pilot who still drives! what he has done for our county is truly great and I respect people like him. I love talking with him and hearing his stories. What did contributed to what we have and take for granted today....
Brian Kirst I completely agree. Also, it's not surprising Phil cares. After all, he was in the Marines for about a year and comes from a military family.
We are losing the greatest generation alarmingly fast. My grandfather was in the navy during wwll and I just lost him in January he was 90 and the best man I have ever known. I miss him more than I thought possible. I am a better person because of him. If you know wwll vet just take some time to talk to them and thank them , you never know when they will be gone.
Quite a nice premise. I get called a 90 yr old due to my opinions but i don’t particularly understand how it makes me an old man for having those ideals(i’m 16). Apologies as it is of no use but all i meant was it could be seen as carrying on values that are ,unfortunately, becoming forgotten.
This song makes me think of my dad. He was 65 when he passed away 2 years ago but he had the hardest work ethic of anyone i know. I got that work ethic from him and am going to pass it down to my boys.
Im sad that Im going to live to see the Greatest Generation leave us. This world will be a dark place without them. RIP Bob 1920-2011. USMC Pacific Theater WW2 and Korea. What do we do without them? Where do we turn?
This is a great song makes me think of my grandparents, I think thats what its about. If it wasn't for our grandparents generation (The greatest generation) we wouldn't have a lot of the things we have today.. We all are forever grateful.
Even though I disagree with some of Phil's takes on TimCast, his band is still one of my favorites of all times. See how that works? Millennials? Zoomers?
I wont let it leave us. our grandparents and great grandparents taught us great things that we always will remembers. NOWS THE TIME TO... REMEMBER WHAT MADE US GREAT
It would be awesome to put this song to a Saving Private Ryan video or any WWII video for that matter lets not forget the past generations that paved the way for future generations god bless
Cannot stop listening to this song. I think some people are too quick to assume. Sometimes a song isn't good right off the bat, and sometimes it is. I found the songs I like most were the ones I pushed away at first.
I hope my generation is known as the next greatest generation for fighting off ISIS but Even though we are obviously going to fight off ISIS I don't think we will be remembered for it because only about 1-2% of people these days answer the call of duty the rest just sit at home on there phones talking about how hard there life Is.
The 1-2% in the mil isn't and hasn't been exclusive to our generation. That's the way it has been for years. This current generation of vets and soldiers fighting the ever expanding GWOT will be remembered. Some are even dubbing them the next greatest generation.
I love this song because it reminds me of my dad God rest his soul I remember when I was in the 8th grade and I had a class trip my dad although we didn't have a lot of money he managed to hustle up 50 dollars and he walked me a mile and a half in the pouring rain to my school so I could go on my class trip , Dad I salute you, and I miss you R.I.P. 😢😢😢
Thank you Uncle Doc for your service. No one in your family will ever know or understand what you saw at Omaha but I hope you saved many warriors and rest easy.
Personally I haven't listened to ATR since their first album, mainly because my music changed drastically. However recently I heard no knock and decided to give them a try again. This band is superb, as someone who has an open kind to music, I love their newer work. The harmonies are catchy, the riffs are heavy, and Phil sounds better than ever. I've been listening to nothing but ATR non stop this past week.
Rest in Power to all those brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice in their nation's service, protecting our rights from those who would do us harm. Thank you all, alive and dead for your service and sacrifices.
What is it that makes us great, are we even great? What is it that we're grateful for, is it the peace that so many wish to experience or is it something else?
People tend to associate this song very heavily with military personnel of a bygone era. While I do agree that we should remember and celebrate them, I also feel a good portion of the people who made this country into a superpower weren’t in the trenches but rather were back at home innovating, building, working in the factories and doing all sorts of other things to get us to where we are today. We shouldn’t ever forget any of the Greatest Generation.
Got over 4000 LP,CD,etc. Heavy metal, prog rock, prog metal, southern rock, metal core, death metal, etc, all that remains is it .in the title that's it. All that Remains .I'm done 63 years old.
I had to google mat best lol, i dont watch tv, havent really watched in a good 5-6 years at least except an occasional movie. But i do listen to kick ass music all the time n thats why im here
You guys gotta do a video for this song!!!! And do it right!! You know what I mean!! You put your shoulder to the wind you put your nose to the grind stone! I am forever grateful for your hand in making me this way! Remember what made us great!
four of the seven grandparents I have (don't ask why I have so many) are complete shits and I'm ashamed to know I have such terrible people in my family. But I love this song. It reminds me to thank war vets and those who have helped the world. I think today's society has lost some basic concepts. I always come here to this song when I got a bad case of the Fk-its to remember my goals and why I need to care. Time to go push forward and get my grind on without being angry at the current state of our system because we have the greatest system in earth. Sure we need reform and I do personally believe that we can do better then this as a country but our system is amazing and has led to our lives improving so much so fast that kids today just have no idea what it was like 100-200 even 300 years ago. Things are beyond different and it happened so fast but that is no reason to stop fighting and doing all in our power to preserve this glorious system.
Yea, I mean if you can't see how musical this song actually along with how inspiring Phil's voice is, you simply don't know what it takes to make a good album that everyone can listen to. There is more beauty to music than blast beats, breakdowns, and death growls...
I don't know...My ears still seem to enjoy this. Sure it's different, but it's still pretty decent. I'll be at the Winnipeg show in march for sure, still love these guys!
ATR is always badass even know a war we cannot win and this album is a different approach ATR fans like me and you guys should support them, personally i think this sounds great!
I’m here because my dad used to always play this song in his Audi, going 155 with the turbo screaming as we jammed to this song together. Ahhhh good times
Damn matt best should get a percentage for all the people he has sent here
Conner Ashford I believe he's friends with the band.
Fr
I doubt it lol, he should be paying ATR for using the song in his video….

I thought at first MBest11x picked this song just because it sounds cool and manly, but then I read the lyrics, and realized how fitting it is for who they are, who we are, and what their message is...
im so glad i found this song CARNE THE US MARINE FORCES (CARNE is aussie for fuck shit up)
He was the reason I found this song and I love it... Mat Best is great... 🤙🇺🇲
Who the fuck is that? Lmao
I'm here for my father, born in '46 and fought in Vietnam from '66 to '68. His sons haven't forgotten him.
Salute to this warrior. Until Valhalla will I get the honor to hear his stories.
I salute that warrior. And I salute you on this memorial day weekend. Battlefield is the ultimate test of brotherhood and those born of those that bled on the battlefield, may we rejoice to remember the fallen.
Matt best sent me here with the promise of bikini snaps and Jameson
I havent seen a single bikini snaps... what the tit fuck.
I heard this song in the end of one of mat best's videos and I can't stop listening to it

“I was born in the wrong generation..”
Wrong. You were meant to carry the torch.
interesting take. Ive been told I was born a century too late all my life...and I'm in my 40s. Great insight.
Wow dude. Never thought of it that way. Thanx

Anyone else notice the bassist Jeanne Sagan singing on some of the songs? :D she has a good voice!
She's even better live ;)
Captain Phasma without the helmet yes I think she really brings a great appeal to this whole album especially on songs like Pernicious .
The man MatBest11x brought me here.

MegaThrasher95 when i went through MEPS about 4 months ago they were telling me at the NAVY office that it is greatly increasing.
Ryan Pedro who?
***** The people sitting on their phones talking about how rough life is. John Marshall mentioned them first.
Been listening for years but Matt Best made this song great again.

One million what, and what would we do?
four of the seven grandparents I have (don't ask why I have so many) are complete shits and I'm ashamed to know I have such terrible people in my family. But I love this song. It reminds me to thank war vets and those who have helped the world. I think today's society has lost some basic concepts. God Oli's guitar solo in this song gets me every time! It's so fucking beautifully awesome!
At 2:46 so good dude, your guitar work is sorely missed! RIP!
RIP OLI HERBERT :(((
I always come here to this song when I got a bad case of the Fk-its to remember my goals and why I need to care. Still fighting myself. Hope all is well.
