Born and raised in Hackney from 1970-1987. Went to Berger and Homerton House. Well Street market was my local market. Moved to Canada, but planning to visit in 2024 to show my son where I grew up.

I went to the primary school right by the Regent's Canal and made the mosaics in the first scene almost 40 years ago. Making them I never thought they would ever be viewed with much interest in the future....thanks UA-cam!! I still live in the area of Hackney by the canal. So much change...

That's so cool! me and my husband will be visiting from Colombia in a couple of weeks, and we'll stay precisely in that area. Looking forward for those beautiful walks along the canal. The mosaics and the street art were definitely a decision maker for us.

Great video...I am born and bred hackney...so much more to see and visit....the famous hackney empire...beck road...Rio cinema....dalston market....victoria park....the Clissold park...etc....

I lived in Hackney in the early 80's, it was quite run down back then, but had potential. I live just near to Sutton House, it wasn't a NT property then, more like a squat. Haven't been back to that area since I left in 89. Has developed and changed a lot since then for the better. Will need to visit the area again when I next visit. Thank you.
