@alumlovescake I dunno if I agree fully with that, they're about on par with other leaders. Though gotta say I do hate how sized down voyager has become
In the 80s Robotech always stood out next to Gi Joe and transformers. My young mind knew jetfire was from robotech but i didnt understand it. My cousin had all the matchbox robotech figures so i was even more confused when the veritech couldnt transform
What you said about the licensing history is incorrect. Hasbro didn't license anything from Bandai. The Dorvack and Beetras toylines, along with the Valkyrie, were all licensed from Takatoku Toys, who had all developed those toys in house. What happened was that in 1984, Takatoku went bankrupt and Bandai acquired them in the process. At the same time, Takara saw how successful Transformers was and made the decision to import Transformers back into Japan. Bandai weren't that worried about Hasbro selling Bandai products in Japan, as their market was primarily the USA . However Takara selling Bandai's own IPs in Japan, in direct competition against them was a VERY different story. As a result, while Hasbro were able to release Jetfire locally, Takara were legally unable to import it. Likewise, the few episodes of the cartoon which featured Skyfire, were not aired as a part of Super Robot Lifeform Transformers. This wasn't the only time this occurred. Skylynx was directly licensed from TOMY and as a result, was never released by Takara. In fact it wasn't until TakaraTOMY was created as a result of the merger, that Skylynx would eventually and ironicaly be released as part of the Encore line.
I thought Bandai had bought Takatoku by that point, it's why I didn't mention them in the video, my apologies. Sometimes finding info on these toys can be a pain. I'm still looking for the original Japanese equivalent of Sky Lynx
as you know All Transformer G1 do anime by Toei same company that do many anime and super sentai(original source material for power ranger) and kamen rider and i believe that design of jetfire used same design when macross creator work in Toei in those years before bigwest bring macross to hamony gold do robotech
Ironically the courts made it so that Harmony Gold can’t sue Hasbro ever again for Jetfire after the SDCC 2013 GI Joe Skystriker was initially cancelled before being released later in the year
Cool, but I've never been a "Skyfire" fan. I know its basically a pipe dream, but im still hoping *someone* will make a Masterpiece scale Macross style Jetfire! 🤞
Wait what? No ankle pivot? Are you sure? It's been a min since I messed with mine but I swear he does have that option once you unlock his ankles. If he does, I'm sure it's been mentioned in the comments a dozen times multiplied by infinity.
I think Jetfire absolutely crushes. My only concern is that now Hasbro is f-ing with the combiner scales (smaller than combiner wars, but significant better than those from a design perspective), will Jetfire be too big (e.g., how does he scale compared to the most recent Hasbro Menasor)? Regardless, very glad to own this guy. Thanks for the video.
I know this was 3 days ago but 2 things 1 I hope harmony gold did not break your small little kneecaps and 2 awesome that you included Rinko from Build Fighters as an example of hot anime women STILL existing, Although I did laugh a little bit when Rudius's aunt from Jobless reincarnation also was that list considering how.... Her daughter is lol.
"Still hold up?" Um...yes? It's Siege. Not T30. Anything from Siege-present is considered a modern figure. We don't need a new Jetfire. We don't need new G1 iterations of the characters every few years. That restricts the character roster to choose from and gets boring/repetititve. Hell, Earthtrise Optimus Prime still holds up. SS86 is a more G1 purist version of the character. Earthrise is a more Generations aesthetic. Both are great.
He does have ankle pivot's, they're just tabbed in so the feet stay still in alt mode. (I think).
@zefmaka8603 my bad those suckers were in so tight I thought they were just not there. Granted they aren't the best pivots but they are there.
thankfully jetfire was reissued which means the newer ones aren't made with the instantly yellowing white plastic
@@sprigs4041 im still keeping him out of the sun just to be safe
Love this figure . Very well done. It also fits in with master piece transformers
And less expensive!!
Honestly I like the Soundwave siege space barge more than the Bumblebee movie chicken nugget.
@@capness1228 i....huh...i....its tough
It's also worth mentioning the handles that allow to carry other transformers in jet mode and exchangable symbol.

Rodimus and Optimus are more like Voyagers with a trailer.
@alumlovescake I dunno if I agree fully with that, they're about on par with other leaders. Though gotta say I do hate how sized down voyager has become
Dang what kind of voyagers are you finding with that engineering and bulk because it ain’t modern ones 😂
just subbed because you are a great transformers figure reviewer! keep em coming❤

Genuinely my favorite transformers character ever, i’m so excited to eventually get this figure
It's a good one, definately worth the hype.
I missed out on the re-issue... but I will never have to worry about my Jetfire going yellow.
Shattered Glass Jetfire baby.
Eay, ya got him ya got him.
I remember when Leader-Class was a foot tall and only cost $50.00
I had a tough time either getting siege jetfire or armada optimus prime,I had to choose legacy armada Optimus prime since I'm a 2000's kid
@@reygaucin2205 i REALLY want that figure gaaah
I love Armada Prime. Such an awesome figure that I think is worth the commander class price tag. If only he came with his mini-con, though.

Why would I need one tbh? Any bigger and I think it becomes a bit unwieldy.
