Not trying to b an ass but this is real and u do not have to open it up with key and push any buttons om the inside of machine. I was able to access the controls from hitting buttons in certain sequence and I also made that machine dispense all of its $1 bills out the same slot that that u put the bills in. I could change prices and also could empty the cash
@x x Quit talking out your ass. Old machines definitely worked like this and were buggy as hell. I mashed enough buttons one time on an old store brand soda machine that it ended up dumping all its change and inventory. Couldn't believe no one asked questions as my 13yo self went inside, grabbed some grocery bags, then loaded up on dozens of sodas and about $40 in quarters.
Go ahead and try (the code are for maintenance purposes only so you have to have access to the motherboard of the machine for test vending machine motors which would be your free vend to force change out to see how much you've sold and the change prices that's the only codes on any vending machine

These used to work on far older machines. Most commonly it was the old soda machines with big red buttons next to the soda code. They had a default code of pushing 1, 3, 2, 4 (respective buttons from top to bottom), and I remember it working rarely for me when I learned of it a couple decades ago. Lol
Various vending machines react to code 0112 by performing a self check and posting the result in the display. Helps you to assess how likely it is to jam on purchase.
Back in the early 90s we had a drink machine at school that we figured out how to get free drinks. It lasted all of 2 days before the whole school knew about it and emptied the machine and it didn’t have very much money in it. It was out of order after that and they fixed it and we never got free drinks again. You could push 2 particular buttons and then bump it with your fist in a certain spot and it would vend out a random drink. My guess is it had a short that was allowing it to happen.
A specific type of vending machine in Germany around the 90s had a pretty bad software bug … you were actually able to get a product on one specific spiral
My dad and I used to have a vending business. Yes some machines would allow service test vend without opening the machine, but you would have to first have to unlock that option and setup the sequence code. I never used that option I always had to open the machine and use the service button.
When i was still in school we had a school trip where one of my friends randomly pushed buttons on the vending machine and for some reason it started to give out stuff for free, 10 mins later the whole class now knows and has formed a crowd around the machine where it is a free for all to get as much candy as you can. When the teachers came they sent everyone to their room and told us to give the candy back, it was already too late at that point tho ^^
Newer machines have that but the older Pepsi and Coke machines still work. I accidentally set a soda price to 1000 something dollars. It's a way to get it into diagnostics mode
I can also attest that the modern machines, such as crane, do not have secret codes. And the orange box in the video is not even directly connected to the mechanics of any machine. It’s an inventory tracking device that keeps track of sales only or if there is a monetary issue or price discrepancy. Any simple selection machine, like a ten or seven selection drink machine don’t even have a keypad to adjust the pricing. I have been servicing machines for over four years.
Most machines have a master code for test vends and product pricing but those are always unique to each machine and are only accessible by the owner cause it’s located inside
There was only one trick that I tried and actually worked. It was used on older soda vending machines. I don't remember much but pressing a sequence of four buttons would provide you with a menu you can use to reduce the price of the drink you want. You could get any drink you wanted except for the second one, since that was the mechanism for the menu.
Years ago, I remember watching one of these type of videos and out of curiosity tried one on a vending machine at my local wal-mart. While I didn't get any free drinks, I did get the machine stuck in a kind of maintenance mode until the vender could come back out and fix it. I think he changed the code to something else after that, as the code didn't work afterward.
I found one code which actually works on most vending machines with numpads. (Not going to tell you the code, sorry) All it does is perform a short self-check and prints out the result on the LCD. (usually "check ok") (Sometimes this also resets your credit to 0.) It's completely useless, but could be a cool party trick. Now if only I got invited to parties...
One of our old vending Machines in school had a code that would eject every single Item in it. After Like 3 years someone found out, and that day everyone got a free Snack and drink.
Well, I remember at my old school last year we had a venting machine in our snack room in middle school. I was playing with the code and somehow changed one of the prices to like 25 or 50 cents idk how but they fixed it like next month when they came to put new stuff in
Back when I was in highschool, the service person for one of the vending machines must have left it in the service mode, or whatever it's called. Me and my friend noticed that where it normally lists the price, it had a string of random numbers and letters I think? I can't remember what it said, since it happened years ago. But we didn't think much of it and just tried to put in the combination to get a drink like normal. Turns out that combination ended up setting the price of drinks to $99.99 and we had to go to the front desk to let them know and get it fixed.
When you type in a code The machine just goes into a sorta debug mode that shows sales and product count The only way you can dispense a product is if the door switch on the machine is off meaning the doors open which requires the use of the key But if you manage to find the model of the vending machine, you can find a replacement key online Note: I am not promoting the theft of any product, I am simply saying this for educational purposes
I remember back in high-school back in 2006 my buddy actually did figure out how to change the price for drinks to a penny, that was a fun week, we bought everything in it and sold them back to the other students. So idk maybe because it was an older one but it worked for us.
In order to get it to work, you need to install Honey on your machine. Honey will automatically look for and apply promo codes, and it's completely free to install!

The Pepsi vending machines with the big buttons that used to be at walmarts all had the same “secret” sequence with the top buttons to access the test vend function among other things. Many mountain dews were had 👍
Okay you might think I'm capping but when I was a kid I did actually find one, but not in this kind of machine; there was one of those hot drink vending machines at our local pool. I used to type random codes to see the price, cos my mum wouldn't ever let us actually get anything from the vending machines, but one time the price came up as just "--.--" so I pressed vend and it gave a free hot chocolate. After that we would get one every time, and sometimes even on the way home from martial arts we'd walk into the pool and ask to just use the vending machines; we'd pretend to put coins in, sometimes even drop some, and then get free hot chocolates lol. After a while the code stopped working though, I'm guessing we weren't as slick as we thought and they knew we'd somehow figured out the code.
In the older machines this actually did work. About 15 years ago whenever I was in high school, One of the kids saw the coke vendor stocking The machine and saw what he did. Then the kid went and pushed the buttons in the order they had to be pressed in to be able to adjust the temperature. The kid basically put it up to room temp and all the sodas in there were room temp until the vendor came the next time and had to reset the temperature. The kid actually showed me and some of my friends what he was doing and he could get into those options. I don't personally remember the sequence though as it was 15 years ago. But yes that used to be a thing in the older machines because I witnessed the kid tampering with it.
I feel like they work but rarely and some people found a vending machine that wasn't turned off by pressing the service button by accident clicked random buttons got a free snack and decided to do a TikTok on it
No code is necessary. I watched a coworker nearly empty a vending machine of its drinks for the price of one. It was one of those robotic type machines that gets the drink then puts it in the retrieval part. By stopping the retrieval part simply holding it shut the robot arm went back to get another, then another, then another...sometimes it would fail and jam up, but most times he got the whole room a drink for free.
I remember a vending machine at my local bus station always glitching so could.get.free stuff before school but the owner of the machine caught on and fixed it quick
