@Geno Monty It’s not simply an ideal!!!!!! People don’t just see it like a picture on the wall and pick it out. Homosexuality has been with mankind on every continent since the beginning of time.
@Geno Monty My point is your ignorance, when you said that it (homosexuality) was foreign to Africa. The suppression of it was stimulated by Christian missionaries. Colonization and all the slave trades Africa VOLUNTARILY participated in ruined It. As a result in THINKING and INFRASTRUCTURE it is the most underdeveloped continent on the globe. To be honest, a continent that NEEDS the pity of the globe, has NO room to show a lack of compassion to any group of people.
@Geno Monty You’re so childlike and predictable, in the worst way. You’re only opposed to it, because you don’t personally identify with it. It’s similar to cultures who created religious ideas in their own favor, so opposite to the ancient very pure concept of the divine (focused on sacrifice, selflessness, & compassion). For example, like the Jews who say they’re the chosen people, and Jerusalem is the holy city of the world, or the Yoruba that say creation started at Ife, or all Abrahamic religions that have texts more in favor of the MALE gender than the female. A bunch of males wrote it, so it’ll be more in favor of their sex than the opposite sex. This is so unlike the REAL power of God, which is inclusive, and far more intriguingly complex opposed to simplistic and boring. Talk to me when you graduate pass your own personal ego.

Am a Ghanaian by birth .A true trait of a Ghanaian..we tend to get our point across solidly with Facts and without arguing..Our values have and will always define us .Proud of you Mr Sam George..these are the issues we are facing right here in the USA. Biden has now agreed the lgbtq books should be introduced in school curriculums for our children .. polluting their minds one step at a time ..Don't let them intimidate you ..Speak you truth and damn the consequences.
What exactly did he say that made you proud of him? I'm a little confused; please enlighten me. This isn't about intimidation or 'polluting of minds' Rowena. The simple fact of the matter is that nature--and by extension the human species--is diverse. There will ALWAYS be people and species who NATURALLY differ from the norm. They will have different inclinations from the majority. It doesn't make them less human or less deserved of freedoms and rights to be themselves. Especially when their way of life doesn't harm any other individual. You cannot outlaw nature. Homosexuality has been with humanity for millennia. It won't go away no matter how many laws we impose. People will be born attracted to the same sex. People will be born who will eventually want to switch their sex because THEY feel that that's what is right. Laws will never change this natural occurrence. So instead of hatefully trying to repress their freedoms and criminalize their way of life, we should instead recognize this truth of the natural diversity of nature. The real mind pollution is the promotion of this idea that LGBTQ folks are criminals, nonhuman, unafrican. Here are a few links to three articles showing Africa(n)s LGBTQ history: amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/sep/09/being-gay-african-history-homosexuality-christianity africasacountry.com/2020/07/six-lgbtq-figures-from-african-history www.blackpast.org/pride-uplifting-lgbtq-history-blackpast-org/ Go forth and unlearn.
@@nanao1726 But who said that homosexuals are less than a human? The debate is about behaviour and preferences. Don't conflate the issue being discussed. Seeking recognition and acceptance of a behaviour should not be equated to a right to exist which is a fundamental human right. However, what anyone chose to eat or drink in order to exist is a private individual matter, not something that should be mandated or impose on society as a whole. This is a no brainer.
Thanks for your point. The anti-queer rhetoric suggests that they are regarded as less than human even if someone doesn't say it in such clear terms. People incessantly ask for them to be killed just because of who they are and how they identify. If they were respected equally as human beings, we wouldn't be throwing about such violent sentiments towards them. Secondly, I don't think I understand the statement, "the debate is about behaviour and preferences," so kindly expand upon that when you get the chance. Thirdly, in Uganda, simply being a queer individual could mean you get legally murdered by the state. That is the law. Such a law suggests that these folks are regarded as unfit to continue life as human beings just because of how they identify, regardless of whether their existence poses any actual harm or threat to a fellow citizen. Laws, ideas and perspectives such as this one -- which sanction violence towards our fellow human beings -- are the reason why queer folks and their allies "seek recognition and acceptance" as you put it. If their existence wasn't regarded as some kind of abomination or illegality, there would be no need for them to seek any rights or recognition. That's the problem. There are laws against their existence, so they have to fight. There are so many similarities between their struggle for recognition and the black struggle for recognition which has dominated U.S. history for the past 200+ years. And the bottomline is, whether we like it or not, more people will be born this way. It's just how nature has willed it. It's high-time we just learned to accept diversity of humanity and move on. Instead of stirring up unnecessary hate, violence and wasting tons of money on a fight which can never be won. Queerness has been, is and will always be part of human existence. It's just the way it is.

@@AS-rw7rf Thank you. I appreciate you acknowledging that I'm entitled to my opinion. You are as well : ] But this isn't just a matter of subjective opinion, it's also a matter of objective fact. So: Firstly, the people who choose to undergo hormonal treatment CHOOSE TO. It's their choice. And so it's OBVIOUS that that is not the same as being coerced into CONVERSION therapy (Not 'convention' like you said). A lot of these folks don't need conversion therapy but people who THINK they know better force these folks into these treatments which ends up damaging them even further. That's why it's regarded as a form of TORTURE by the UN. Conversion Therapy is regarded as TORTURE. Think about that. And also by your misspelling of the word, I'd say it's clear you don't know what you're talking about and you probably didn't even know what Sam George was talking about there either. I'm taking this time to type all these things under this video because I actually want to help encourage people to question this anti-lgbtq stance and investigate it a bit deeper. And also it's not "very stupid" to ask someone a question about a topic you're not an expert in, with the hopes that the interviewee will shed more light on the stance you're questioning them about. Journalists do this all the time. How many times during this pandemic have you seen doctors on news broadcasts being asked about vaccines and quarantines by journalists even though the journalist may not be versed in that topic? The whole point was for Sam George to shed more light on whatever it was that Larry was asking. But when Larry pointed out the false equivalence he was making, he, Sam George, couldn't respond convincingly and cleverly flipped the script to question Larry's expertise. By that same logic, we could question the MPs expertise on matters relating to queerness. But that's not the point. You know what, I'll stop here.
Here are a few links to three articles showing Africa(n)s LGBTQ history:
amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/sep/09/being-gay-african-history-homosexuality-christianity

Go forth and unlearn.
Bring your kids home, give them education with values and good morals.

You are as well : ]

But before I go, I'll just share some links that PROVE that queerness has existed in Africa for many centuries. Hopefully someone with backward views will read it and it'll wake them up.
Thanks for your time.

@@the_village_boy86 you know what, I'll spare you an essay. Because any critical assessment of the balderdash the MP spewed will prove otherwise. But I won't get into it.
Have a lovely day my guy.
I clap for Sam George. I will come to ghana to campaign for you this alone.
How can someone normal be peddling this nonsense LGBTQ up and down... I hate the fact that we can encourage such disdainful morals...
i am a Ghanaian and very much super proud of the responses my MP gave. This is Ghana and we will do whatever it takes to protect our Ghanaian cultural values. FINITO!
Is good to protect your cultural values but what have we done to protect our values of honesty. Bro the acts of homosexuality is not the only acts that is against our values if homosexuality is bad and against our values then other deeds that are wrong must be addressed as such. # Let's stop the hypocrisy
@Kwasi Mensah Frimpong Ghanaians are focused on Ghana. It's your western friends who want to tell Ghanaians what to do and how they should do it. Did Sam George call CNN or did CNN chase Sam George. If you like cultural imperialism from the West then you go stay in the West.
@Kwasi Mensah Frimpong ...murderers have always existed and will always exist so focus elsewhere. Is this your reasoning??
Get em’
We need to protect our Culture The African culture is very strong 💪🏿. Thank you so much honorable MP you won the debate. 👏🏾👏🏾
This PM you will be rewarded in heaven. We are Ghanaians and we respect our culture values. We forbid LGBT and we will never entertain this madness in our country. All Ghanaians are proud of you Mr. Sam George. You have won my respect, you are my mentor. God bless you, live long MP
Larry, after just few years abroad, has forgotten his African roots, even in his accent, he's trying to sound American. He has really embarrassed the mother land here, especially us Kenyans! Sam George is the true son of the soil, the other black guy is just safeguarding his paycheck.
Larry is very stupid
I am a Biafran and am proud of my Ghanaian brother, Sam George. God bless you for fighting to preserve our culture. Shame to Larry for misrepresenting Kenyan values.

He is representing his paymaster's view not Kenyan views or values just like Ghana and Uganda there is a bill pending introduction to the Kenyan Parliament 'protection of the family bill' and Kenyan values are similar to Ghanaian values on this subject we are opposed to this madness being peddled by the western media and Governments as human rights.
As Kenyan's, we would love to dissociate ourselves from Larry.
His opinions are just his, and don't reflect the view of Kenyans.
Correct
You are right brother
Larry very stupid he disgracing Kenyans
We know, he told Larry that so he would look like a fool for making his country look bad🤦🏿♂️. Shoutout to Kenya tho 🇬🇭 🇰🇪
They are NOT his opinions they are his Paymaster's.
Larry didn't prepare for this interview.
He was just tasked to come and talk thinking he was going to interview some emptied headed person like himself...
What preparation do you think he could have done to put forth a strong argument?
He can have a year to prepare, he still has no point.

Speaking as a Kenyan I would like to say that Larry is Speaking as an American not as a Kenyan because in this instance homosexuality is illegal in Kenyan constitution and larger Kenyan culture
Once upon a time ago, blacks interacting with whites was illegal.
Legal or illegal is a spectrum dosent make it right.
Larry isn't doing good with his international relations. Kenyans ain't in favour of homosexuals either, so on what basis are you claiming allegiance. Stick to your corner and do your analytical questioning rightly.
We Ghanaians know Kenyans are not gay tolerant
Well, my brother, in this case Larry has just disgraced Kenya with his ignorance.
@@danielkyei9368 I guess he’s only doing his job as a journalist which in this case …….was handled well by Sam George
With all due respect, why did you insist on pedalling a narrative of doom in respect to this issue? The people in the country want this bill, the people outside who feel they know better don't. How is branding one man "a hateful person" helpful when majority of Ghanaians support the bill? Even if he was no longer attached to it, it wouldn't change their minds. He is just their mouthpiece and Not the pedaller of hate.
Yes oooo
The CNN guy is not correct at all, didn't he do any research on the man he was going to interview?

MP Sam George is indeed a true representative of what a true African is, proudly African
Sam George speaks the truth about tolerance in Ghana. But being inclusive doesn't mean being intrusive like we're seeing in women sports. Leave the women alone.
Sam George is Great. It’s ironic the journalist called him hateful. Larry was the one spewing the most hate and trying to manipulate the interview with false accusations. What a shame.
It was a biased opinion or interview.
Am actually ashamed that Larry is Kenyan.
He is been controlled watch is body language

Avoiding the question. However, minorities all over the world do suffer some form of discrimination. Therefore, every country has the right ( right or wrong in the eyes of the perciever) to enact laws that serve the majority interests.

Patience, tolerance, understanding, and compassionate dialogue are the way forward to better evolution of human consciousness. Adversarial dialogue is counterproductive. ❤.

Thanks for loving us. We are very grateful. We are just simple peace loving people, who are able to exist and love all people. Maybe, that's part of ou weaknesses, but we'll keep it. Welcome home!
Is this Larry from Kenya. Can he confirm his gender identity in American way before disturbing Africans with nonsense. Our values as Africans must be guarded at all cost
MP Sam George would *NEVER* get a Visa to Ethiopia, he would rather immediately be granted honorary citizenship including his 2 sons and daughter.
“You should be talking to a story teller” and this part got me laughing 😂 Smart Sam 👍
That's the right answer he gave the CNN journalist. I love that answer. He was simply outstanding!
Honourable Sam George, pls tell them to go to Saudi Arabia to tell their president to legalise lgbt...whatever....it's not Ghanaian culture, it's not Christian, it's not Islamic and it's not traditional....Ghana won't accept lgbt whatever....nonsense

Yeah I think I noticed that. At a point he was fed-up with Larry's naivety
This interview should have been done in person, for about 2hrs. Sam had a lot to say, but the time wasn't enough
No they'll not allow that because they know Sam George will embarrass them. They planted a black Africsn guy unto the programme for a particular effect.
Why 2 hours? I don't support gay and l don't oppose it. However, An interview to me shouldn't last more than 15 minutes. Even 10 minutes can explain a lot.
If Sam supported it, they would have given him much time. It's how CNN and the likes work

You have earned my respect with this comment
Homosexuality does not equals to murder or burglary. Human being on his nature is bisexual. Every little kids are bisexual.

Both NDC and NPP, to be frank Ghana has well educated fellows in government, all that is needed is they do away with corruption, because i believe Ghana realising to forget the west and focus on it's own.
Lol larry should tell us the answers
It’s not an answer because he keeps responding to something that’s completely non related to the question. Y’all aren’t ready to be a developed country yet. Worries about what gay people are doing more than worrying about how to get the country out of poverty. Sad
All we need right now is thousands of Sam Georges in Africa. This guy is not only intelligent but he also knows his root, his values, norms and religion. Wow! Wisdom is not about holding some PhD or Professorship title, it's about thinking deep into both the present and the future. Some greedy people are only trying to push the agenda because of what they'll gain in return, not even considering what may follow in future. Kudos Sam, you're blessed with wisdom.
Absolutely! We need more African leaders to be like Same George and continue the reject western ideas into the contient. There are more issues Africans need to worry about such as religious stability, education, housing, and employment.
@Emilie When you go to the supermarket, is it whatever you see that you buy? I don't think so. There are certain foods that are healthy for your body that you'll approve of whiles there are others that you wouldn't even want to see on the shelves. You pick what is good for you and you leave behind what isn't healthy for you. 1. Of course Christianity and Islamic religion work for us cos truly there's God. 2. Whether imported or not it shapens society, if not there would have been more deviant behaviours which cannot be controlled. Whether you believe in Jesus or not, whether you believe in Allah or not that's your choice to make, one needs to do more soul searching and I'm not here to preach that, however like I mentioned earlier, Christianity and Islamic religion both help one to know that the earth didn't come into existence out of an accident or an unexplainable situation. Well, religion is not just about Christianity ma'am. I also disagree with you on the fact that, the western world aside trying to bring this evil agenda into our land has on the other hand influenced Africa through fewer positive ways. But before they came, Civilization started from Africa, Egypt to be very precised where the first largest architectural work in the world is, known as " the pyramid " in Egypt, then we look at the first lettering done by the Queen Cleopatra known as " hieroglyphics " then also the preservation or embalming of corpse (Egyptian mommies) using a fabric discovered by the Egyptians known as the papyrus paper from the papyrus tree and then it goes on and on and on. All I'm trying to insinuate is , yes Africans have their values, norms and morals that's why Civilization started from Egypt which taught us a lot of cultural values EXCLUDING LGBTQI+ and when you search more history about Africa your intellectual mindset of whatever we've been trying to proof is exposed to light. We"re not interested in this LGBTQI +! Period!
@Emilie Then you don't understand how the Christian faith began.
This isn't about religion. It's about sanity.
@Emilie please oo, Christianity is not a European religion. Christianity effectively started on the Day of Pentecost (Acts chapter 2) Those who accepted Christ on that day included Africans. The first ever theological school was in Alexandria, Egypt; and it had many African scholars. Before the advent of the European missionary exercises in West Africa, the Coptic Church had existed in Africa for many centuries in Ethiopia, Egypt and other places in Africa.
Please ooo! Christianity is NOT a white man or European religion.
Sam has gained my respect. He is speaking with intelligence and information. Wow u will well remembered for this

@@kofitekpetey943 exactly! everyone knows who is gay in Ghana and no one bothered with them.
How many male hair dressers are like that? 😂
Gays in Ghana even have their own public street with shops etc.
Once they start to try collaborating with Western organizations to create advocacy (aka recruiting impressionable youth and others) that’s when Ghanaians said no no stop there. Ghanaians are incredibly tolerant but we will not tolerate the advocacy of lgbt and public display of parades, tabs children, teaching lgbt in schools, etc.
That’s not going to work in Ghana no one wants to see that happen and it won’t.
