@@MSTTV Is there a story you'd like to tell? One event I went to didn't have toilets. There was a public urinal two blocks away but someone had gone number 2 in that.
Tilting sucks, no tips for that, but if evenly is a huge issue, many players have shifted from overcommiting to get a hard board to safe minimal board. When practicing vs a friend, give them evenly in their opening hand, and test hands and scenarios Of what lets you survive. That's all part of understanding the meta.
@@MSTTV Thanks for your answer. I was playing pendulum magicians and I obviously tried to set up boards with 3-4 negations. My opponent baited them out with cards like mind control, engage, anchor multirole... One time I negated an evenly matched just to get another one in the same battle phase :(
the deck expectations for me I do play a deck that isnt very good but I really enjoy/having alot of fun with so even if I loose in a way I win and my goal is to get 1 match win and if it happens that awesome but if not then oh well i still can walk away knowing i had fun
Great video Tom! Will you be doing a new Hand Trap Cheat Sheet video soon? Really enjoyed the vid and helped me win some duels at regionals and locals but have trouble on what to hit with Thunder Dragons and dark warrior.
As always, your advice is invaluable. Granted that Sky Strikers survive another list, I'll either be taking that deck or Burning Abyss to my first regional in April. I study the meta a lot, but I want to implement my knowledge of the game now.
Another good tip is have your siding plan for the meta matchups thought out before the tournament. That way you wont over side or under side, or waste valuable time.
Can anyone clear something for me? Is i attack a thunde dragon collosus and i activate clashing souls . Lets say my monster gets a higher attack . Does colossus gets to "activate" its banishing protection effect?
The “opponent’s skill” aspect of play testing with tabletop is a double-edged sword. If all you have access to opponent-wise are your casual buddies, it’s gonna be really hard to elevate your game. On a related note, if everyone you play test against is a budget player, you won’t learn if your deck is weak to money cards or be able to devise ways to counter those more expensive cards (at the moment that would be stuff like Ash, Impermanence, and Ghost Belle but obviously it changes with time).
Then your best bet is to get quantity practice on DB, it's hit or miss but at least most people will have their full builds. Or test with friends on DB. Or even proxy some missing cards.
Got a question regarding sleeves: Is Double sleeving in the extra deck also illegal ? if you have a perfect fit around the card itself and then a bigger sleeve over it, do you necessarily get a warning/game loss ? i mean you cant stack your extra deck and the order of the cards is chooseable/random so you can´t have advantage through that
Michael Schwirz double sleeving in yugioh isn’t allowed regardless of what your deck is double sleeved, the only game I know of that allows double sleeving is cardfight vanguard
Unfortunately in the TCG policy documents, it's mentioned that double sleeving is not allowed (even if it's just the extra deck), you're allowed to have designers sleeves if they are all the same manufacturers, color, etc. However the OCG I believe does allow double sleeving but that's just the OCG.
Good luck! Know your chains:) and best of all have your explanation ready for your opponents because 90% will ready your cards and you are likely going to play into time.
I ll give you the best advice. Create a deck that can make 2-5 disruptions if you play first and at the same time you can break 2-5 opponent disruptions if you go second(without using your side deck).Hard but doable
That's part of deck choice. Choosing that is a good start. Remember you own capacity, of how you play at your best and how you play under exhaustion. If you make critical misplays when tired, maybe it's not the most ideal deck, because you might lose to yourself. Be confident and competent.

If you play fast in DB vs IRL... You are able to think faster, the board is top down, you can check both graveyard, hand count and everything for granted.
