Amazing year when Christian and Punk are your two all time favourites. The fact they both returned to wrestling 10 years later made late 2021 so iconic as well.
@ I know we’re all at the mercy of Netflix and WWE Vault for WWE content now by January 5th either way I’m good I’ll watch the other promotions of past and present I’ve seen all from 1980-Now I’m from NY I’ve been to many Supercards/PPVs I watch all wrestling promotions around and travel the world what a life of wrestling throughout the decades
10. Rey mysterio vs cm punk capitol punishment 9. John cena vs John Morrison vs the miz extreme rules 8. Smackdown elimination chamber match 7. Randy orton vs cm punk extreme rules 6. Smackdown money in the bank ladder match 5. Randy orton vs Christian Smackdown after extreme rules 4. Christian vs randy orton over the limit 3. Randy orton vs Christian summerslam 2. Triple h vs undertaker Wrestlemania 27 1. Cm punk vs John cena money in the bank
I started watching in late 2011 while scrolling the channels and seeing a late night highlight show of raw where I caught the end of a big brawl segment with miz and r truth being thrown out after being fired, what kept me around was how damn good cm punk was.
I wish WWE would do the broken ring again midway through the PPV like in Vengeance 2011. It would be a great way to make matches more extreme/creative. Also an honorable mention to Orton vs Punk at Extreme Rules
Surprisingly when Sin Cara is in ladder matches they turn out to be bangers like the men's SD MITB 2011 ladder match and Wrestlemania 32 IC Title ladder match show opener
Punk vs Cena DID help deliver the lasting change we were all hoping for -- just not in the way we expected. It's not entirely coincidental that NJPW saw an exponential growth in popularity among English-speaking audiences starting right around this time. We have to give credit to their product being a lot better than WWE's at the time, of course, but a lot of fans in the Anglosphere, especially younger ones, might never have even considered non-WWE wrestling options before Punk laid out everything that was wrong with WWE, and assured them that it wasn't that bad everywhere. And then, of course, NJPW's booming popularity with English-speaking audiences eventually directly inspired the creation of AEW, which ironically motivated the long-complacent WWE to finally start getting its shit together.
Money In The Bank 2011 remains one of if not the best Money In The Bank event to date With Punk becoming WWE champ for the first time, Christian becoming a two time world champ and a banger Money In The Bank ladder match for the SmackDown briefcase that’s a top five contender for best money in the bank ladder matches ever
I started watching WWE in 2011, I have seen SOOOO many matches and I know way too much about wrestling lol but my personal favorite WWE match is CM Punk vs Cena at MITB 2011
I was lucky enough to be at Money In The Bank 2011 live. The Cena/Punk match wasn't perfect for execution but we didn't care. We just wanted Punk to win, and seeing it happen was the best feeling.
John Morrison should've won the title at the start of 2011 would've been dope CM punk Christian Randy Orton Daniel Bryan were some of the best wrestlers in 2011 and 2012 ❤❤
World heavyweight championship ladder matches featuring a long blonde hair wrestlers at extreme rules just didn’t mix well (both edge and ziggler would be replaced in their respective match and one even being changed into an I quit match)
CM Punk and John Cena’s match at Money in the Bank is an absolute classic and personally one of my favorites.
Same
Agreed
The Smackdown main event scene in Spring/Summer 2011 was so fun to watch, glad to see it get some recognition
Amazing year when Christian and Punk are your two all time favourites.
The fact they both returned to wrestling 10 years later made late 2021 so iconic as well.
Wow, that Alberto guy is in a lot of these. He sounds awesome 😬
John Morrison vs The Miz was an underrated rivalry. And JOMO should've won the WWE Championship in 2011 as well
Considering that he was released from WWE by the end of the year, it would have been for naught.
We need more WCW PPVs ranked by the years and Timeline years in professional wrestling videos
We might not be able to see them as Netflix is not looking to stream wcw shows and old wwe shows
@ I know we’re all at the mercy of Netflix and WWE Vault for WWE content now by January 5th either way I’m good I’ll watch the other promotions of past and present I’ve seen all from 1980-Now I’m from NY I’ve been to many Supercards/PPVs I watch all wrestling promotions around and travel the world what a life of wrestling throughout the decades
Obviously CM Punk vs John Cena match at MITB 2011 will easily be in this list of 2011 best match
No doubt
Punk vs Cena was never not gonna be on here 😂
Exactly lol
10. Rey mysterio vs cm punk capitol punishment

Didn't the smackdown chamber include Barrett, Khali, big show, santino, Rhodes, sheamus
@ that was the 2012 chamber and sheamus wasn’t in it
@SJ_RANKS I mean Daniel Bryan idk why I put Sheamus
damn christian had some of the best matches of 2011

Punk's entrance at MITB is one of the best in modern history - the crowd was perfect.
Edge Vs Ziggler at the Rumble deserved a spot
Nope!
Nice effort on the pronunciation of Sin Cara complete with Spanish "Sin"
I started watching WWE in 2011, I have seen SOOOO many matches and I know way too much about wrestling lol but my personal favorite WWE match is CM Punk vs Cena at MITB 2011
Me too
Nexus vs Cena is my first Wrestling memory
CM Punk Vs. John Cena MITB
PANK AND CENA WOS THE BEST MATCH IN THE LAST DECADE IN YOUR LEAST 4 YEARS AGO 😅
That World title Elimination Chamber match was the first time a lot of people saw the potential in Drew McIntyre
One of my favorite years in wrestling.
0:40 It was November, Raw after Survivor Series.
John Cena vs cm punk for the wwe championship at money in the bank 2011 is a instant classic
I was lucky enough to be at Money In The Bank 2011 live. The Cena/Punk match wasn't perfect for execution but we didn't care. We just wanted Punk to win, and seeing it happen was the best feeling.
The first year I started watching. I’m quite fond of it.
I remember Money in the bank 2011.
I’m curious what you guys think of CM Punk vs Del Rio at Survivor Series
That chamber match was my first wwe ppv I watched when I was 11 years old ❤
John Morrison should've won the title at the start of 2011 would've been dope CM punk Christian Randy Orton Daniel Bryan were some of the best wrestlers in 2011 and 2012 ❤❤
Alberto Del Rio was in a lot of good matches that year.
I wonder what could #1 be 👀
Edit: WTF Brodus clay vs Christian?! Really?
Im guessing cena vs cm punk at money in the bank will be #1 😅
rock cena vs miz truth survivor series
cm punk vs cena MITB
christian vs randy orton smackdown
Sin Cara in a ladder match? But what if he scrapes his elbow? That would've meant the entire show called off
ADR was either really lucky that year or he had a good 2011
Both?
Pretty sure Morrison and miz was January. Morrison beat sheamus at tlc 2010 in a number one contenders match
It was in January.
World heavyweight championship ladder matches featuring a long blonde hair wrestlers at extreme rules just didn’t mix well (both edge and ziggler would be replaced in their respective match and one even being changed into an I quit match)
Boy I wonder what number 1 is?🤔
That pic in the thumbnail always made me feel sick. Nasty.
And weirdly despite the focus on AJ Lee after WrestleMania 2012...was probably WWE worst years ever
Cm punk is overrated
