I'm not ashamed to say I watched both versions. These things are so damn cute. Weirdly, I didn't hear about them until I was older. Especially as someone who has always loved dolls. They also make me think of the show Pen15 (highly recommended).
As someone with no experience with these sweet baby angels, is the description of names and personalities of these calico critters written canon by the company or is Erin just being creative as always? when you were talking about the car and said that there was something just “right” about the family getting into a cherry red car it made me think of Enzo Ferrari, Ferrari’s founder, who said that if you ask a child to draw a car they will usually color it red. I can’t remember if this was the reason behind choosing red for Ferrari’s branding or if he was saying it was a result of Ferrari’s impact, but I think it’s the former. anyways, fun fact I wanted to share lmao.

Now as I am older, whenever I end up in a kids’ store I always go round their aisle to have a quick peek at them.
