From a content standpoint, I'd like to acknowledge and praise the fact that you're pretty much the only channel out there posting 12 minute full rounds. I love it. P.S. I'm in for an occasional long form video with more chatter and cart cam footage. Possibly plan some colabs with other channels.
Such a great video Adam! Gorgeous course and great long putting on this one. It's so helpful to see that even you're only making 3/8 on scrambling. Learning that a 5 handicap only makes 40% of their up and downs makes me feel a lot better!
Heya! I just commented elsewhere: So bizarre. The footage was in 4K, but the hole overviews were in lower res and for whatever reason I could only render the video in 720p. Didn't even notice until I uploaded!
Adam please come to Australia and teach me how to putt like that! Putting is your absolute savior. How do you practice your putting? Mostly speed drills or stroke work?
haha I'd love to make it there one day. I just filmed a few hours of putting content with my friend/coach, Gordon. Working on editing it down into something digestible...
Weeee round. Someday I want to play 9 hole scramble and 9 hole match with you. "We" card on the front and "I" (you) on the back. Interesting that you and Golfsidekick catch yourselves deviating from your management rules while editing. I propose Rule #0: stick to the course management rules! 🙂 Pro's benefit from caddies to help w/ course mgmt. {also, 83 for h-cap, unless over your max allowed for the hole}
Very great video! I would love to see you post a video of you having to play a very long course and your insight into how you approach longer courses (not just a few longer holes) with a single digit handicap.
Another great video, and perfectly timed as I played this course today in the rain. Very similar score, but from the whites. Would love to see you on my home course, Morgan Creek😊
Thanks! I've played Morgan on the channel a couple of times, before! See: ua-cam.com/video/nNw-KpGyBwY/v-deo.htmlsi=OomYedjGOmGiNj_F & ua-cam.com/video/_6Ibn0quOG4/v-deo.htmlsi=tQcb0gEGyPdvK02W

Today I learned! Some of my friends love KL, others hate it. I quite like it - great green complexes and a good mix of holes. I wish the man-made lakes on the course were a bit less intrusive. I think Holes 10 & 17 are weak.
Green Light Drive = a drive that gave me a reasonable chance of hitting a GIR. I used to keep FIRs, then began keeping both stats and ultimately determined that GLD is the more useful metric for me.
Hey Adam, I've been a subscriber for a while now. I love the content on your channel. Except for one small thing. A really small thing. It's the pixelated edges on your scorecard graphic. I might be able to help you replace it so please do reach out if you're interested in doing so.
Thanks Adam, I have started using some of your course management tips in the last few rounds and have been striking the ball well and getting it around the course better...now I need to focus on any putting tips you have. I played a round recently where I hit 11/13 fairways (par 71 track), with the only two fairways missed were due to going long through the dogleg in the fairway. 13/18 greens in regulation and shot 81. Aerated greens had me out of sorts - 41 putts and only 40 full swings. Never have I ever had more putts than full swings...ugh. Thanks again for the great golf ⛳ content!
If you’re off the green and hit someone’s ball no penalty! If you’re on the putting green and hit another ball it’s a 2 stroke penalty and you play as it lies! Ball that was hit can be placed back on original spot!
Here’s answer to your rules question: because you were on putting green when you hit your putt in stroke play that hit your competitor’s ball you are penalized two strokes. (Would have been no penalty had you hit that putt from off the green.). Your competitor has to replace his ball where it was when yours hit it before he putts. Rule 11. Another great video. Keep up the good work.
This is accurate-ish, but a bit exaggerated in both directions. Arccos says I drive/approach like a high single digit, chip like a low single digit, and putt like a scratch or barely into the pluses.
For hitting another players ball on the green you get a two stoke penalty and must play it as it lies. The person whose ball you struck must replace it in its original position (or as close as they can estimate it)
This is correct but it's always bothered me. The person whose ball was hit should be marking their ball on the green if there is any chance I might hit it.
Correct. But as the player who is putting, you can "force" (by nicely asking) the player to mark his/her ball to be sure not hitting it. If you take the risk you need to accept the penalty. At least that's the way I learned it here in good old Germany
Not since Biggie Smalls’ 10 crack commandments have I been moved this way.
Never trust no-bo-dy.

Thanks, man. Indeed, I love seeing full rounds, but 10-20 mins is much more digestible than 45-minute 6-hole videos, IMHO.
Ah yes, back to King’s Links again! This is one of my favorite courses to appear on this channel.
Mine, too. Great place and great team there!

Love sharing these stats and seeing them resonate!
Hey! Is there a reason the quality is only 720P, love the channel!

haha thanks. Yeah, I feel like any honest assessment reveals that we don't follow these rules 100.0% of the time, but I certainly always try to!
LOL, Kings Mouth. Last 4 holes always screw my good rounds at KL. 17th is my nemesis and 18th water always gets me.
Very great video!
I would love to see you post a video of you having to play a very long course and your insight into how you approach longer courses (not just a few longer holes) with a single digit handicap.
Love this idea. I'll give it a try!

Hardly a Tree in sight. My atomic slice would love this course
Adam, why 720p upload?
So bizarre. The footage was in 4K, but the hole overviews were in lower res and for whatever reason I could only render the video in 720p. Didn't even notice until I uploaded!
man, i think i say this every video.. id kill for an 9 over lol
Lol thx!
Is this a recent round? I play there every week and the pin locations are very similar to just a few days ago. It would’ve been cool to bump into you!
Yes this was filmed just a few days ago!
Considering the course was not designed by a professional architect, it is an amazing track.
Today I learned! Some of my friends love KL, others hate it. I quite like it - great green complexes and a good mix of holes. I wish the man-made lakes on the course were a bit less intrusive. I think Holes 10 & 17 are weak.
Course management should be the first golf lesson. Okay, maybe course etiquette should be first.
There’s only management when there’s something to manage 😂
Agreed.
First! Love the channel, love the vids.
Thanks Aidan!
Great mental tips as always. How late does your season go in Vancouver? Our courses here are closing within a week mostly
Thanks, bud. Courses in Van are open year round, but frost delays (and sometimes even temp greens) are common from ~Dec-Mar.
On Hole 12 the rule is that Mikey gets to throw your ball in the lake. 45 shots tee to green is impressive on a windy day.
I like this take lol.
Great vid! Definitely need to include some good course management next round.
Love this.
Nice first hole. Taught me a long to time ago to take my medicine find the fairway and lean on my short game
yaaaaaas
very solid round into that wind.
Thank you!
I'd be interested to hear your definition of "Green Light Drives" and why you don't simply track FIR.
Green Light Drive = a drive that gave me a reasonable chance of hitting a GIR. I used to keep FIRs, then began keeping both stats and ultimately determined that GLD is the more useful metric for me.
Great course and nice round!
Thanks!

That is indeed golf! I have an upcoming video about putting that I'm working on!
Just great content
Thank you!

Learned that today! If my buddy Rob were playing with me, he'd be sure I entered this score as an 83 😅
I believe if you put on the green and your ball hits another persons ball you incur a 2 stroke penalty.
Indeed, learned that in the comments as I knew I would!

Thanks for the clarification and the kind words!
hmm...why are you penalized for your playing partner not marking his ball?
@@golfdads00You aren't, if a player refuses to mark their ball when requested its a 2 stroke penalty for them.
Does anyone actually play like this?
That last putt was amazing
I love when I can hit a high fade driver. The snap hook is a score killer for me.
My life!
Your irons / driver is 18+ handicap but inside 100 yards you ARE a scratch golfer.
It may not be pretty but he keeps it in play off the tee much more often than an 18.
