Today we explore a world where Goku and his Saiyan half Kakarot, are split into two different people...will Kakarot finally be able to take over the world for the Saiyans?!

I like how Goku and Kakarot in the thumbnail have design differences even outside of just clothing. Goku has rounder eyes, thicker arms and sharper ears. Meanwhile Kakarot looks overall leaner with sharper eyes.
Just the touch that Goku is drawn in Toriyama's original art style and Kakarot is based on his design in the Super Broly movie's style is just a neat way to make them distinct despite being the same person.
Its not really as indepth as that..
Its just Bardock and Turles being reused for Kakarot.
Theres the design of him where he swapped for Vegeta.
And the rest are based on similar designs from other what ifs where Goku is still Kakarot

@@Skullhawk13 Deadname is a bad comparison here, kakarott is more like for example if a chinese kid was adopted by a white family and given a western name theyre raised with, but they meet their bio parents and learn they have a chinese name too. Something closer to a deadname would be like how even though piccolo used to be kami and then fused with nail, we still call him piccolo

So, had Kakarot sparked upon Krillin's death? It was the first time Goku was driven by the desire to kill someone, right?
Well this should be interesting to see in this new what-if seeing goku and kakarot going in different path (yin and yang kinda way), especially how the Saiyan Saga will be like could mean some serious training for the Z-Fighters.

i really like this premise, as far as i'm aware it's the first one on youtube. If this gains enough traction you'll probably start a new trend "Trapped in the Time Chamber" style
I seen one before similar but difrent enough were kakarot like Goku dosnt remember much of his sayian roots but still kind of Malicus at the start

Well there is a what if where Goku and Kacarot were two different people but not like this. Heck if you count his whatifinty this is the third but that was more cause of twins. But splitting him into two is different but an interesting idea
I did also do this one 😅 from what people said in my comments, I'm fairly sure I was the first! (I had no idea at the time)

Given the reference to Doctor Who, I fully expect a part 2 where Garlic Jr and the Spice Boys to break out into a performance of "Spice Up Your Life".
I know this is an april fools what if but since Kid Goku power was diminished thanks to the split and maybe get tired after his tail get cut off, I feel like tien and roshi combined effort could defeat him but oh well, its a intriguing what if seeing them fight
Isn't Kakarot's plan to try and kill Goku a fool's errand? Presumably, like Kami and Piccolo, Kakarot and Goku have a life link.
Also, if this made it all the way to Super, imagine how Kakarot might be connected to Goku Black.

I get that this is a fun April Fools what-if, but I don't really think that Kakarot would be all "I'm going to kill everyone on Earth and you can't stop me!". There's two factors to consider here:
1. The nature of Kakarot's parents, Bardock and Gine. Bardock, while not necessarily good or nice, has an unprecedented honorable nature and unheard-of loyalty for a Saiyan. He legitimately appreciated and respected his crew, he was protective of his wife, and he wanted his kids to be successful. Gine was a legitimately nice person, and a pacifist by Saiyan standards. We actually see a _little_ of this in Raditz - granted, Raditz wasn't really much better than a typical Saiyan, _but_ he still had a degree of loyalty (when it didn't conflict with his exceptionally strong survival instinct and resulting cowardice) that other Saiyans didn't, and he really wanted his brother to willingly join him even AFTER finding out that Goku was extremely weak by Saiyan standards at the time. It's likely that Kakarot inherited some of these nicer traits as well.
2. Even if he didn't and was still a typical Saiyan at heart, Kakarot would still have been influenced by Goku's experiences because before the split, they were fully the same person. Kakarot wasn't some separate personality from Goku, he was just Goku's suppressed Saiyan nature and lost memories. We don't exactly know the deal with Piccolo and Kami, but we do know that Namekian minds are far more complex than that of Saiyans.
I could see Kakarot being more like a combination of Goku and Cell Saga Vegeta, with a bit of Raditz mixed in. He'd probably be willing to defend Earth on the grounds that a. he lives there, b. his time as part of Goku made him grow fond of the place, begrudgingly, its people, and c. if nothing else, the food's too good to lose.
I see it as kakarot before the recton. Going with the original story of conquer Earth.

It's not necessarily a retcon. Raditz was an unreliable narrator for that, he didn't actually see the exact circumstances that led to Kakarot being sent to Earth in the first place so he assumed it was for the same reason as any other Saiyan child.

Love the idea. Perfect for April fools. I think you legally in the future have to do a story with two vegetas now though, given that there’s the twin Broly scenario and now a goku and kakarot scenario lol, maybe just something to consider

To be honest why do most what ifs with Kakarot make him follow the extinction mission insted of the directtive to survive by Bardock
I dunno how other people are, but for me I grew up in the very early 2000s where it was all the fanfics of “Goku turning evil into Kakarot!!!!” Because at that point Dragon Ball Minus hadn’t come out yet and established that Goku wasn’t evil when he originally came to Earth. That was basically how the canon always was, but then it got retconned later on. For all the newer fans who just started in on Super it wouldn’t make any sense but it would’ve if you’ve been with the series for a long time haha

I knew about the recon with DB- and the what Super has done, I just want to see how Goku would do with the memory of his parents and do something cool with Great Ape (like learning how to control it or gain the Ikari transformation), something similar to your Goku in your SonicXDragonBall
But the moon was only restored, once Kami removed Goku's tail.
Until then, the moon is still destroyed. Therefore no Great Ape form for Kakarot.

I mean if this did happen most likely Kakarot would just be more aggressive when fighting and his mindset would be more set like Vegeta (A loner kind of and wants to get stronger) given how Grandpa Gohan would still had an effect on Kakarot growing up, but I fine with some dump fun here since this is an April Fool's what if. 👍 Oh boy Kakarot is getting so "Saiyan training" from Raditz looks like Goku will need to step his training up too along with everybody else too. 😬 I'm hoping this includes Gohan training as well. 👍 Hm? I wonder if Kakarot and Raditz will be a third faction, and it will be a three way battle between them, the Z-Fighters, and Vegeta & Nappa. 🤔 Anyways another really good start to this new series, and looking forward to the next part soon.

I always thought of this, but the only way this could realistically happen as a full sayian is if there is a new human birthed and a kakarot from a timeline where there was no planet frieza destruction.
Oh well. That might be a good xenoverse plot if it ever gets another sequel.
