The thing is, I couldn't trust the leave campaign at all, because they were spear headed by people who made a point of protesting, rather than actually trying, and had ulterior motives that relied on the UK failing after leaving. A large number of our MEPs were the party that wanted to spin the EU to make it look bad. They never showed up to debates, making it look like we were being excluded, even when we weren't, and when they did attend, they only attended the debates where a vote would be taken, and they would vote in the minority to make it look like Europe always ganged up on us, not to mention the number of expenses claims they made to make campaigns against MEPs making expenses claims. And at the lead of said party was Farage, who was a former hedge fund manager/investment banker. Typically, when an investment banker leaves banking for politics, they're taking a pay cut, so the only reason they would want to be part of Westminster is to act as a mouth piece for the financial institutions they came from. When you take into account that he is of the industry that tanked the economy in 2008, and then continued to reward themselves bonuses, stole money from their customers, and failed over and over again, you can tell they don't care if the country thrives, provided they get their way and are rewarded for their greed. In 2012/2013, it was reported that the EU wanted to pass legislation that regulated the banks, including capping bonuses that bankers could award themselves to no more than 100% of their annual salary (this was during a time when the banks still had poor performance, made losses, missed targets, and miss-sold products), and George Osbourne tried to take the EU to court over it. It was likely, this wouldn't be the last attempt that the EU would try and bring the rogue financial institutions to heel. So of course, Farage wanted the UK to leave, because that meant his own banking buddies could avoid accountability for their avarice, something the EU was keen to bring in. The UK, on its own, would not fare well, particularly since the people running the negotiations are all to determined to rush proceedings, and not get a good deal, or even any deal. This would leave the UK highly vulnerable, and its credit rating falling, meaning the big banks we owe money to would turn around and demand more interest. Enter the rogue financial institutions, who will then make a deal - they sweet talk the banks we owe money to, in exchange for deregulation, and for a commons vote on turning the UK into a tax haven. Desperate, the UK government would agree, signing its autonomy and sovereignty away to the banks, who can then go on trashing the economy, rewarding themselves, and the poorer in society would be worse off than ever. So I voted Remain, because that scenario was entirely plausible, and would be disastrous.
It completely astonishes me (well no, not really, it just annoys the hell out of me) that pretty much everyone is simplifying the situation to: leave = extreme right, bad; stay = everyone else, good. The leader of the official leave campaign is a Labour MP, for God's sake. The issue CAN'T be simplified, it's far too complicated and nuanced an issue... with good arguments on both sides. The media's obsession with the Nigel Farage/Boris Johnson cult is purposefully discrediting the campaign. A person who only gets their news from mainstream media probably wouldn't even know that left wing and centrist leave voters exist. Shame on all of you. The media establishment is a joke.
+James Line and they failed to anticipate it because no one was paying any attention to what was happening to the left outside of London and big cities.
I'm for in, I just can't see enough reason to leave. Ok laws, we voted for the same laws and I doubt any really want to change, and it's good that we can be a part of enforcing things like the humans rights act across Europe. We get a lot of trade out of the EU and it actually doesn't take up a lot of our expenses (about half a percent). The leave campaign seems to be focused on saying lets hope for the best, leave has no clear plan. Sure they say we'll get a new deal but what is really the odds of that being soon or even any good. We lose our ability to be competitive outside of the EU. Remember isolationism had never shown to work out well, not even in America.
If we stay house prices will rise a lot more than if we left. If we stay our NHS will be pushed beyond its limits and will be no more. He lives in the UK and this is a comedy show so yeah the clearly left wing comedians probably will spend more time making fun of the right wing which they disagree with
They went down because of their own actions. Ms Thatcher for example was quite a downfall for all social programs. The EU isn't as mighty as people make it out to be and most of its laws are pretty well thought out. In comparison the national governments are not better or worse, just diffrent. It needs reforms and it's spending is off but actually, it's benefits out weight the negatives. In the long run, Europe will have to unite. There is no alternative I am aware of and I study international politics so it's kind of my job to understand all of this. The EU is not perfect, not by a long shot but it's the best we got and we need it to work. Otherwise we can just as well sell ourselves to the US or China, with no democratic influence at all, as puppet states. It's not a distant dilemma, it's present and happening as we speak. The UK for example - it doesn't have to like the EU but actually, who likes any politicians amd governments? I sure know that I don't know any parties I adore. I think Britain made a mistake because instead of using reformers in Europe to repair and improve the EU it bailed out and now has no alternatives. Britain stands alone. The damage is not big but it's constant. The EU is the best chance to form a big government that fights for the western values, that could help Africa become a powerful ally and while not replace step up to the role the US had and even improve upon it - but if all we do is isolate ourselves and become like say the Arabic league - we can just as well stop making politics. We are too small to have any meaning on our own anymore. I am German so if I say that, I mean it. Japan for example. It's powerful but not even remotely close to matching China or the US. The EU is a difficult, ongoing process but giving up on it doesn't help the people of Europe and even the world in the slightest.
Well they got one bit wrong. The "wherever this guy is from" guy is a Swiss guard placed around the Vatican. On both counts, neither is part of the EU.

+Just Getting By Why do you think there will never be a reformed EU? The EU is just a few decades old, and it has been reforming pretty much constantly. (Before the EU there were other organizations, but an organization even remotely resembling the EU is relatively new).
Just Getting By That's a lousy (and unsubstantiated) argument. Why do you think that there could be reforms for the last decades, but suddenly not anymore, and why do you think the bureaucrats there are corrupt?
Just Getting By Those are not the facts. Like I said, the EU has been changing for decades. Why would it suddenly stop? Alos, why do you think the EU is corrupt. Just saying it is so does not make you right.
Just Getting By Bureaucrats are never elected. Also, the bureaucrats are not making the final decisions. That is left to the Parliament (which is directly elected), the Commission (which is indirectly elected) and the council (which consists of heads of state that are democratically elected within their own country)
***** Sure. But there are people in Britain who believe, that a Brexit will end the supremacy of the European Court of Human Rights, which also has nothing to do with the EU, but the European Council. I am a political science student and i hate that so many people don't know jack shit about the EU, even though so many ignoramuses have an opinion about it.
Yeah and it's great that you're smarter and better than everyone but the minute you start getting serious about a joke, especially a deliberately absurd one, you start looking rather silly.
Technically no, the ECHR is an institution of the Council of Europe, a separate organisation to the EU, rather than the European Council, which is one of the EU institutions (and should not be confused with another EU institution named the Council of the European Union). Phew.
If people don't understand it then it is their own fault. Stop being ignorant do your civic duty and be informed about things that matter more than the trivia of day to day life.
Constitutionalist yes but so many people actually want the people that bring up the subject (the politicians ) to make it accessible enough to make an informed decision but it's their job to invade as much media and literature as possible to confuse theater in their favour. I agree with you but the water is dirty and the people in charge are throwing the mud in.
One of the reasons why I stopped The Last Leg at the end of 2017...typical established left-leaning program; repetitive and an annoying audience. Latest figures show Britain paid the second highest net amount (€11.5 Billion) into EU funds in 2015. You won't have heard of this as the EU no longer likes announcing when they release such figures. This total is also after the €6 Billion rebate that Britain gets and is only €2.8 Billion less than Germany's net contributions. France in 3rd paid €5.5 Billion. Why? The EU's budget for 2015 was €145 Billion. 75% went towards agriculture and structural funding. Subventions for farmers in order to price out fair trade from Africa etc.
@@bradoslav36 He is right about agricultural spending being idiotic but he was trying to say that the EU spends money on stupid things but forgot to mention the trade benefits and that the EU government might be one of the most underrated possibilities that Europe had since the last world war.
Lol @ "wherever this guy's from." He's someone charged with guarding the Vatican, his group being known as the "Swiss Guard", because that's the country that did it in days of yore. Switzerland is one of few European countries NOT in the EU.
Do you remember that entitled kid from school who didn’t understand much, had very mediocre marks but parents who always praised it for its heritage (kinda sounds like Draco Malfoy)? The kind who would be very picky with everything and only attended social gatherings when there was free sangria *cough* food? Well . . .
This is a comedy programme not a serious political programme. Slag off the BBC , ITV, Sky, the left wing press or the right wing press. There are plenty of pricks in those organisations who are worthy of ridicule for the crap they talk about.
With the leave winning the country has begun a downward spiral. NHS is collapsing due to all the drs and nurses leaving, companies going bust, mass unemployment and homelessness... all those who voted leave remember you made your bed so enjoy 😄
+MrTakeshi763, Care to give me an example of any of the things you've just claimed. Also, I should add, that the UK hasn't actually left, so before you criticise Leaving, you might want to wait a bit. An you do know that the majority of foreign doctors we have in the NHS, aren't from the EU, an the EU has nothing to do with them entering the UK, an as a matter of fact Leaving the EU will make it easier for foreign Doctor's from India etc to work in UK. P.S. But go on, tell me how Racist I am for voting Leave, I support immigration from all continents, the EU supports immigration from it's (majority white) Union, but again if BBC and CNN say's I'm racist for voting Leave, then I guess I must be.
The EU is not the EBU! Membership of the European Union has no bearing on eligibility to compete in Eurovision. Also, Blue were really dull in 2011. They'd had some brilliant hits before then but their ESC song and performance had nothing to distinguish it from the others in the middle of the pack.
@@heilpepe4102 Well it was profitable on paper but with Britain gone the EU can finally pull through long overdue reforms. It won't be pretty for either of us but as things are, there will probably be a new EU for the liberal western nations anyway. I mean, let's face it. The EU needs reforms but it can't be reformed if all only try to fight for their own profit.
James Race it hasn't happened yet. And probably won't for 1-2 years. And is still possibly not going to happen. All depends on whether trump nukes the fuck out of everything for a laugh
Not so funny anymore i must say - as this video probably best reflects the information basis of information some or many people had before the Brexit referendum.
Do your research and it is obvious that we MUST leave the EU. I am also tired of these crap shows hosted by boring comedians. I am also bored by the way channel 4 and the BBC tries brainwash the publics political views as though they are lab rats. If we don't vote to leave Great Britain will cease to exist.
+Thebobsmccoll We are in an unfortunate situation. If we leave the EU, we will be lower on the list for trade and will loose a great work and trade oppertunity. Staying, on the other hand, could lead to a United States of Europe and greater controll by a government that can in no way represent the different cultures and attitudes in Europe. I personally will vote to stay, as the economic and work options disadvantages of leaving are rediculous, however I do oppose the ideas of a European army and the restrictions they place on laws. The Euro also does not work, you can not have a strong country, like Germany, and a weak country, like Greece, on the same currency as it can not adapt to the changing economic situations
Iain Campbell Britain's trade options would be far superior outside of the EU. The EU restricts our trade opportunities as we are confined and forced to trade with a small list of countries. Iceland has a population of a third of a million and yet they have much better trade links then us. You are right about the Euro, however we don't need to be in the Euro to be affected by by it. while countries keep getting shot down bye poor economies we are the ones being forced to pull them out. The Euro is one big black hole and unless we are out of the EU economic doom awaits.
Cheers..

also, with the situation of the EU in current year, and new internet laws comming up.... be glad you're leaving.
you'll have controle over your own borders and laws as well as taxes.
meanwhile , us mainlanders are fucked.
Phil Porter the point of your comment was...?
@@bradoslav36 He is right about agricultural spending being idiotic but he was trying to say that the EU spends money on stupid things but forgot to mention the trade benefits and that the EU government might be one of the most underrated possibilities that Europe had since the last world war.
Lol @ "wherever this guy's from." He's someone charged with guarding the Vatican, his group being known as the "Swiss Guard", because that's the country that did it in days of yore. Switzerland is one of few European countries NOT in the EU.
TheCandyVanCan exactly, lowering of standards.
Do you remember that entitled kid from school who didn’t understand much, had very mediocre marks but parents who always praised it for its heritage (kinda sounds like Draco Malfoy)? The kind who would be very picky with everything and only attended social gatherings when there was free sangria *cough* food?
Well . . .
that was biased asf glad we left
We'll see if you still feel the same in a year or two. Maybe you will, but we'll have to wait and see.
@@tjfiso6407 lol
Not from UK but interested in hearing what people in UK think now
Is any way to watch full episodes of this in the U.S. without torrenting?
+Brett Hudson Use hola!
+Brett Hudson dotvpn
+Brett Hudson use a vpn and then stream from the network's website
I don't know much about the EU, but I find myself instinctually opposed to anything Nigel Farage supports...
Nigel Farage supports you living.
Even a broken clock is correct twice a day. Don't care what anyone else says, look at as many facts as you can and make an educated guess.
(I think one of them was supposed to make a joke that the guard in the Vatican not being in the EU)
He’s now the prime minster
The Little Big Planet music is so perfect!
This is a comedy programme not a serious political programme. Slag off the BBC , ITV, Sky, the left wing press or the right wing press. There are plenty of pricks in those organisations who are worthy of ridicule for the crap they talk about.
***********WHETHER**************
With the leave winning the country has begun a downward spiral. NHS is collapsing due to all the drs and nurses leaving, companies going bust, mass unemployment and homelessness... all those who voted leave remember you made your bed so enjoy 😄
+MrTakeshi763,
Care to give me an example of any of the things you've just claimed.
P.S. But go on, tell me how Racist I am for voting Leave, I support immigration from all continents, the EU supports immigration from it's (majority white) Union, but again if BBC and CNN say's I'm racist for voting Leave, then I guess I must be.
this show saved my sanity on the 23rd of june.
After watching 60 seconds of this vid, I suddenly had the need to go watch Dads Army.
He said Leicester right!
0:49 ...Switzerland's not in the EU...
Blue was well sick, such memories
Maybe people got confused over Brexit and thought they were voting for the staying in the Eurovision Song Contest?
I find Adam pretty funny but his show just suckles at the political correctness tit.
The irony 0:52 is that he is I think a Vatican guard which are all Swiss born Swiss army soldiers, i repeat I think
Ooh they should watch Dear Fat People. I'd personally pay for that video
*whether, man can’t even spell…
The EU is not the EBU! Membership of the European Union has no bearing on eligibility to compete in Eurovision. Also, Blue were really dull in 2011. They'd had some brilliant hits before then but their ESC song and performance had nothing to distinguish it from the others in the middle of the pack.
Northfan42 Its a joke
Hey British people about Brexit the EU doesn't care if you stay or leave actually we want you to leave
The Shamless Kid Merkel and the rest of the Eu want us to stay so your on your own mate
For so long I only notice the lights that formed a halo and not the Hitler mustache
risible.
I swear no one in this comments section have a sense of humor
it is confusing that the photo of Nigel Farage simultaneously gives him a fake Hitler mustache and Halo
Some people would see him as a saviour and others as a nazi. Ambiguous, to a degree.
Whatever position you held for or against, Brexit happened and now you're going to have figure out how to live with it.
James Race it hasn't happened yet. And probably won't for 1-2 years. And is still possibly not going to happen. All depends on whether trump nukes the fuck out of everything for a laugh

Yes, it is a terrible thing to leave the EU. EU is great, EU is good, resisting the EU is useless.
watch yes minister
What's that music?
Every New Zealander watching this : "But ... we are independent, we have never been dependent :'( "
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Too late now
Not so funny anymore i must say - as this video probably best reflects the information basis of information some or many people had before the Brexit referendum.
A Swiss guard-who comes from one non-EU country and works in another-as a representation of the EU?
Yes the comedy programme should NOT try to make jokes.
I think we should leave the EU
Aled Davies Good job totally the right decision.
Channel 4 bias!
I was looking through the comments to find anything that said biased before I said that channel is the most biased to channel Barr from the BBC
How does that guy wipe his arse?
+Jake Deane Concubines.
He twerks the loo roll like Miley Cirus.
more importantly, how does he wank?
Jake Deane
Probably front to back
Do your research and it is obvious that we MUST leave the EU.
Oooh, you put your opinion across as act, I must tell everyone of your expertise in such things!
+Rob Fraser cheers blad
But... It's channel 4.............
