- In one of the most anticipated matchups in MHSAA Football Playoffs history, defending D1 State Champion Belleville (13-0), battled perennial power Detroit Cass Tech in the Division 1 semifinals, at Novi High School.
Despite sub freezing temperatures on this mid November day, the game lived up to hype. Belleville raced out to a 14-0 lead, but Cass Tech responded with 21-unanswered points, punctuated by Technician sophomore defensive back Alex Graham's 61-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Sophomore All-American quarterback Bryce Underwood tied the score with under ninety seconds to play in regulation, plunging into the end zone on a 2-yard run.
After a potential game winning 32-yard Cass Tech field goal was partially blocked, the game would go to Overtime.
After the Technicians scored first on freshman Corey Sadler Jr.'s touchdown reception, Belleville provided the game winning heroics.
After Underwood scored on another 2-yard touchdown run, Belleville elected to leave it's offense on the field and go for two. The game would end on Bryce Underwood beating the Cass Tech defense to the pylon, giving them a 29-28 win (OT), and sending the Tigers to their second straight D1 State Championship game.
The broadcast on Bally Sports Detroit was called by Evan Stockton (play-by-play), and former Detroit Lions tight end Rob Rubick (analyst).

MHSAA Game of the Year so far...
Any idea how the divisions work? Is 1 better than 2 etc?
Is 6 thr worste?
Divisions are based off student school enrollment
@@mixetube1116 it goes to division 8 typically the lower the worse
@@mixetube1116 again divisions goes by school enrollment size. Lower division doesn’t mean worst.
@@Tru7bluedon’t at all. King is like d3 and we all know they compete at a high level.
