Fabrice Robin True shyt I consider Purple City to be a part of Dipset back then tho. Dipset was starting to do they own thing in 07 but still using the Dipset name.
@@wesleypugh6860 word sooo true!!! anything under 80 bpm is kinda dead but they prob did it slow so everyone can write easily to it but it sounds wayyy dead like that
Yo JR, I truly APPRECIATE you keeping it real 4 life along with Hell Rell and 40. Real talk, you are one of the best ever to me. It's all about LYRICS and being able to spit fire!! You and Hell Rell have ALWAYS brought your A game, and for that I salute you and Ruger Rell! From the FIRST Writer's Block to Hell Rell and the Meyer Lansky Project, the combination of LYRICS and Beats are second to none. Keep up the excellent work y'all. NYC 4 LIFE!! My favorite song with you and Hell Rell was "The Essense". I mean y'all have so many HITS, I been lost count. Just curious, but which Writer's Block album was your favorite? Mine was WRITER'S BLOCK 3.
This is all a set up like a great WWE storyline of a great comeback of a nostalgic faction. It's as if DIPSET (i.e. Degeneration X) had two separate sub-faction pushes within the group at the same time while pushing the entire faction as a whole and cohesive unit. On one hand you have the main players, which in this example would be The Diplomats (i.e Shawn Michaels, HHH, Chyna or the OGs/Originators of the overall faction. Then on the other hand you have The Purple City Byrd Gang (i.e The New Age Outlaws and X-Pac or the X-Factors to keeping the faction refreshed and edgy. You can't go wrong with either hand no matter how you slice it because both groups can truly hold their own as two separate but equal entities within the faction, as well as a full body collective force to be reckoned with. The fact that both individual groups are coming out with "dueling" projects at the same time is not only an ingenious marketing scheme, but it's what's best for business at this point in time because it allows for DIPSET fans to finally, yet respectfully see which of the two groups are the better lyrically and musically over all, but most importantly it keeps all six guys in the SPOTLIGHT and RELEVANT at the SAME DAMN TIME!!! (That's a Win-Win-Win scenario for DIPSET the Movement, the loyal fans of DIPSET who's always longed for years for a full reunion of the complete DIPSET roster, and last but not least the culture of hip-hop as a whole because when these guys where at the climax of their run, they were completely 'UNFUCKWITABLE' as a full unit.) "Everybody EATS. Everybody gets the GOLD BBS's B!!"-- (Money Makin Mitch, Paid In Full). The musical competitve matchups was always something that was mired by most fans like myself who grew up during the whole DIPSET phenomena, and often times the top of our discussions when all 3 Diplomatic Immunity albums popped off. Their music was timeless, the different amalgamations and pairings of the individuals on the records where witty and spot on no matter who you put together to lace a track, and their momentum spread like a Californian wildlife because of it. I believe that the real glue to bringing this storyline back around full circle would have to be the insertion of the Wave Gods (Duke Da God and Max B) into the fold sometime later on next year after Max B's release from prison. (Diplomatic Immunity 4 ANYONE????). That way the build up between now and then would allow the fans to fully get invested into the "Family Wars" gimmick. Maybe both groups put out about 2-3 mixtapes a piece to feed the fans over the course of the next year to reinvigorate the fanfare. That can lead to showcases for each group separately, but can transform into bookings to where both groups can do appearances at maybe 2-3 major events (i.e NYC Summer Jam) and perform their new material. And then, the rubber would meet the road for a significant moment to occur where finally you have DIPSET hits the stage as one unit again to create the biggest pop ever by doing a one off DIPSET REUNION later on down the pipeline within the next 2 years. THAT SHIT WOULD BREAK THE INTERNET and spark the return to prominence of in my opinion one of the greatest assembled collective of a Rap Group in our modern day time. These guys WERE my Wu-Tang Clan (no disrespect, I love the WU as well, but I was more musically inclined around the time when DIPSET hit the scene) when I was coming up during my high school and college years between 2003-09, and that's how they were view as such. Once again this is only MY approach to how I would write the narrative with a WWE-esque type of storyline. How do you guys feel about my ideas? Feel free to comment.
I needed to hear this tonight. That intro with Hell Rell was the dessert I wasn’t expecting to be final course. It makes me want more guys. #newyorkisback #og
